Went to the air show yesterday and enjoyed it. We arrived early and avoided traffic 9:30 AM. My adult daughter left early around 1:00 PM and struggled with traffic to leave. She left because she couldn't handle the heat, you can't bring a full size umbrella in, just purse size, but you could pay $30 and buy a full size umbrella from a vendor. With a small umbrella you end up always having sun on you. Impossible to enjoy when you are in direct sun without enough shade. It was windy so holding the umbrella was tiresome. Looking into the sun didn't help. My daughter brought a lawn chair and the grass area is very uneven and her fiancé stepped in a hole and twisted his knee. So he sat the rest of the time. You can't bring water or food. $2 for a bottle of water. Gets expensive just to stay hydrated. Lots of walking and hot asphalt. Not allowed to bring a canopy of course, yes, I asked. Anyway, other than the heat and direct sun, the planes and show are absolutely fantastic. Be aware it's a Portable toilets, and fairground food type event. My husband and I were gifted upgrades for the white tent with a zaxby's lunch and of course sitting at the edge of the tent was crowded and if you move inside you can't see above you... so, you end up saving a seat and walk back and forth outside the tent to see better or sit at picnic tables in the sun. Bring ear protection especially for small children. Great planes, great show, but you need shade to enjoy it. We saw a truck with a tailgate down covered by a pop up canopy in the parking area with a cooler. Brilliant. Parking is free.

Big crowd, lots to see! Flying demos have just started!

Attended on Saturday and really enjoyed it. This event is well-organized and there is so much see (and hear!). We saw the Army parachute team, aerial acrobatics, an F-16, T-38, A-10 (warthog) and tons of helos and other aircraft. Bravo!

Planes, helicopters, food, beer, and happy crowds enjoying the air show!

Having never been to an air show before, we were really excited to go. The Stuart Air Show did not disappoint. The drive up was a bit tedious and there were traffic jams on the roads leading to the airfield entrance. We didn't plan for it and so got a bit stuck having left around noon to go see the show. I would recommend arriving earlier to beat the rush. Otherwise, once inside parking was easy-peasy. They even have a tractor pulled trolley going from one end of the massive parking area to the ticket booths and back, although we decided to enjoy the walk there on this beautiful day. Once inside there was a ton of stuff to see and do. Parked airplanes and helicopters all over the place, and some were open for people to sit in and explore. There were multiple beer stands and a concession area with all sorts of fair food items. Meanwhile, starting around 11:30am, there were various aircraft performing at all times above everyone's heads. From fast attack jets, to acrobatic propeller craft, to gigantic transports, it was a sight to see! Over to the side there was a collection of various military choppers and tents showing of WW2 weapons and gear with people dressed in era appropriate uniforms. Also in the distance I could see a Huey helicopter giving people rides around the area. Getting this up and personal with these machines was very interesting and overall the experience was truly unique and fun! I thoroughly recommend going, especially if you have never gone to an air show before!

Admission is $20 for adults, with child and military discounting. There's a lot of outdoor walking space around the main lake/lagoon where you can see the nurse sharks and sea turtles amongst the many other fish there. The weather was really nice the day we went, so we took a stroll through the nature trails. They are mostly boardwalk trails with a few covered stops with benches. The main trail is a 1 mile loop but there is also a 1/3 mile loop that is good for kids. The main trail will take you to the Indian River Lagoon for some nice storefront views! The main building has some cool artwork made of reclaimed beach litter that makes you really think about proper waste disposal. There's also a few tanks with cool fish and such to see. The entire center has a few different spaces for bathrooms that are easy to access. I'd recommend coming here for a nice day in the fresh air and sunshine to enjoy the flora and fauna of Florida!

It was a huge hit with the kids, but honestly, the adults enjoyed it just as much! We could have easily spent hours there alone. The staff is always friendly, knowledgeable, and happy to share information about the exhibits and local wildlife, which makes the experience even more enjoyable. The nature trail is another favorite and offers a great opportunity to experience the area's natural beauty. One tip for future visitors: bring bug spray, as there can be quite a few mosquitoes along the trail. This is a wonderful family-friendly attraction that's both fun and educational. We look forward to returning every time we visit the area.

It's located in Downtown Jensen Beach and they close of the main street, and one street over so vendors can set up shop along main street, and the rides and stages etc are one block over. We walked down mainstreet and perused the vendors which were selling a wide range of interesting art, some clothing, jewelry, and some food as well. The carnivalish street has lots of activities for kids, and some more food and drink options as well. The stage is set up in a parking lot with some seats and room to dance. I thought it was well laid out and looked fun. I wasn't particularly wowed by Pineapple festival, but we don't have kids and besides the restaurants that we know and enjoy on the perimeter there isn't much for us after wandering the vendor lined main street. However we'll most likely be back next year to support the community.

In fact there was only one vendor there selling pineapple slush things and that was it! There was live entertainment which was great and several carnival rides. There was a great variety of fair food, however I was expecting pineapple flavored things and fresh pineapples for sale and that was not the case. Hopefully next year. The festival wasn't very large, we basically walked around the block. We went on few admission day and it was nice weather therefore we enjoyed the short walk but I would have been upset if I had paid to get in. Parking is awful.... there isn't any.

It's the only remaining House of Refuge of the original ten built by the U.S. government along the Florida coast in the late 1800s to shelter shipwrecked sailors and travelers. We always thought it was just an entrance to the beach but to our surprise, it was more than that. Once you park, there are a few parking spaces labeled specifically for this museum. Entrance is right next to the parking. You start at the first little house where you'll get a video about the place itself and its history before you start the tour. Once you start the tour you can visit the actual refuge house and find a collection of antiques artifacts, walks along the house while reading and learning about its history, the Georges Valentine shipwreck and Don Pedro Gilbert. You can also visit the Quarters, stroll around the garden in the back facing the street and the lagoon, snap some pictures on the benches or swing on the rocking chairs while facing the beach, enjoying the breeze and counting the ships and boats you can find. Our toddler enjoyed playing with the helm by the rocking chairs and pointing at everything he saw Behind the House of Refuge there is a nice spot to take pictures by the rocks and the beach. We witnessed a small wedding ceremony during our visit, right by the watch tower. Overall it was a great time for the 3 of us and a good way to spend our Saturday. I'm glad we found this small place and learned so much about the Hutchinson Island history.
