Upon removal, I noticed that the stairs were not only badly damaged (from a previous owner's work), but were failing in multiple areas when accessed underneath. This was no longer a home improvement project, but now became a safety issue. I contacted Jonathan on a Tuesday afternoon letting him know that we had a staircase that was in need of repair. I reached out to 10 companies (that listed on their Yelp reviews that they offered carpentry) requesting a carpenter or carpentry skills, but only Jonathan and another company indicated that they could repair stairs that were damaged and in need of repair. The other company was not as responsive and indicated that they were fully booked through the summer, and that they didn't have the time. After texting and calling Jonathan throughout the day Tuesday, Jonathan indicated that he would come out the following morning to assess the damage with one of his highly skilled employees. Jonathan and his skilled carpenter were timely and direct in what needed addressed. He indicated that we would replace 10 of the 13 treads, and that they would reinforce all of the stairs underneath with 2x4's and other materials. Jonathan and his skilled carpenter were not only efficient, timely, and responsive, but the quality exceeded all expectations. Jonathan's carpenter worked nonstop Wednesday (not even a break!) and finished ahead of schedule on Thursday. The high quality work was much more than we had anticipated, and the price was reasonable (considering the urgency and timing). I highly recommend Jonathan and his company. After some research, I hired Jesryn General Contractor LLC to remove and install a French door and to fill in hardwood flooring for a small area of a bedroom. This was supposed to be a two-day project. However, it quickly turned into an almost 2-week project! Once Julio removed the door, things changed...for the worst and then got better. He could have just completed the job he was contracted for, but he explained that he found major water damage. He said he could not in good faith just install the door. Sharing this unfortunate information could have made me stop the project immediately and sharing this unfortunate information could have loss money for his company, but it's not solely about the money for Julio, it's more about integrity. His reputation of trying to always do what is right and do it well. So, he removed and replaced all of the rotted wood first. Julio told me not to worry, he would work with me, and he would make sure everything was completed accurately, efficiently and that I would be very pleased with the results. He was right. I love the outcome! I never had to wonder what was going on, Julio communicated every step of the way, and he even took pictures. His team, Diego and Julio Jr., were punctual, professional and very easy to work with. I trusted them to do what we agreed would be done. I highly recommend Jesryn General Contractor LLC, and if you contract their services, you will not be disappointed.

It involved completely gutting the upstairs bathroom, bedroom, kitchen, dining room etc... and developing an open floor plan. It also included creating an open floor plan for our downstairs study/family room. He and his team tackled this enormous job with the expertise and precision needed to complete an amazing quality of work. If I have time, I'll add a few pics of our first project. The second renovation project fall of 2025, included an entire roof replacement and installing two attic fans, repairing/replacing vents within our downstairs bathroom waterline and renovating our downstairs bathroom were among the areas that were addressed as well as other smaller projects. Similar to our first project renovation, he and his team maintained excellent communication throughout the project. The previous owner of our home took the lazy way out and had the cable hanging out of the ceiling, stapled to the wall in my closet, and ran it through the wall again near the floor so it came out though the other side of the wall where you can plug in your TV. Bruno responded quickly with an estimate and was even able to do the work on the weekend. He arrived on time, was very professional and really nice! In addition to rerouting the TV cable through the drywall, he carefully patched up the wall for me--it was as if the cable never existed! I highly recommend Bruno's Home Service. The next week I called several times on different days but no one picked up. I eventually put in a request on their website to see if they would respond via email, but got no response. Called twice today; same result. I put in a request on Yelp and it was immediately responded to stating unable to service. I'm not sure what is going on but I will move on to a different company. Since they did not show up for the appointment, no estimate or work was provided/done.

Short review: hiring Construction Systems of Virginia is the hardest I've ever had to work for a…read morejob I was paying somebody else to do. Between missed self-imposed deadlines, poor workmanship, and major mistakes, completing the project to satisfaction took constant vigilance on my part and a general knowledge of construction techniques I felt lucky to have, but would've left someone less experienced with sometimes unsafe conditions in their home. Overall, the project was completed, but it took significant effort, time, and money on my part and, as a result, I wouldn't recommend anybody to hire Construction Systems of Virginia. The final straw for me to write this review is that one of the two patio doors I had installed by CSOVA started peeling on the door jamb after only a year or two. I reached out to CSOVA to ask for a receipt so I could file a warranty claim with the manufacturer. They had no receipt. I asked for a statement or some kind of paperwork that I could send to the manufacturer. They said they would send it but have never followed up despite asking for it multiple times. My project was large in scope and took five months. I hired CSOVA via Patrick Mullen to repair the back exterior wall of my townhouse after we discovered mold on the inside. It's difficult to be concise with all the things that went sideways on this project so here's my top ten things that went wrong: 1. They installed an outlet without an electrical box 2. They didn't initially replace the piece of sheathing that caused our mold problem until I noticed it 3. They boarded up our laundry and bathroom exhaust vents, until I pointed it out. 4. They painted over our fireplace bricks when installing the mantle which was not requested nor inside the scope of work. 5. They bought the wrong insulation materials twice even though the brand was specifically listed in the contract 6. Materials were ordered late and delayed parts of the project 7. Siding repairs were mismatched for a different style that our HOA explicitly didn't allow. I had sent CSOVA our HOA terms. 8. They reattached our downspouts without the proper drain adapter (as it was before) 9. The brand new patio door they installed still leaked water after multiple repair attempts. 10. The work crew, on several occasions, breached the mold containment zone that the mold remediation company said not to breach. This list doesn't even include the lack of diligence on finish details that would indicate a professional install: wall and outlet plates not removed prior to painting (and when I did it myself for the 2nd coat, they were reinstalled immediately after painting before it could dry); a gallon paint can I supplied mangled to the point it had to be discarded; three different colors of caulk on the exterior of my door frame; mismatched screws on the hinges of a brand new patio door; a missing bracket on one downspout but not the other; different trim pieces for the same type of exhaust vent literally side-by-side; and probably more that Ive forgotten or yet to discover. All said and done, I cannot recommend CSOVA. I leave two stars because I do appreciate that Patrick always had a good attitude, was open to addressing the issues, and accommodating with scheduling. In the end, the work simply was not of quality without tremendous personal effort and time.

The color recommendations Patrick gave for wall/trim colors and fixtures were a subtle way to elevate and bring attention to the details, such as selecting pearl for the extensive crown molding to give it a shine. The shiplap ceiling and walls helped to create the airy, farm house feel we were aiming for. I took a lot of the design expertise of Owner Patrick. He recommended we add in the wainscoting to give the kitchen dining area an elevated, cozy feel. He also recommended we paint the ceiling and walls of the green room to give it a moody feel- At first I was skeptical but now cannot picture it any other way. He had the idea of combining the mudroom bricks with the shiplap walls- which is truly just dreamy... This house now exceeds anything I could have ever dreamed up. Patrick also gave multiple tile options and design ideas until we finally landed on our perfect match. I appreciated his willingness to work with my need to "see things" laid out before picking options. He provided multiple sample coats of paint options, laid the tile and floor choices next to each other so all I truly had to do was point my finger. The bathrooms now feel like I am stepping into a spa each day. Communication was huge as with any big project there are so many moving parts and changes, so I appreciated his quick responses and willingness to make adjustments as needed. While I have so many more positive things I could say, I will let their high quality work speak for itself with pictures.
