Essential to keep me surfing and skateboarding! Katie helped set my shoulder injury (rhomboid strain) on the path to healing and worked on my old herniated discs in my back. Katie can target an injury and work with you to create a program that took me from those early stages of extreme soreness to relief, to stretching, and then strengthening and stabilization. I'm now to the point that I can rip a bunch of pullups on my backyard pullup bar. I wasn't sure I'd ever get back that type of explosive strength in my shoulder, so I'm really grateful. I also feel less pain and inflammation in general, so I can enjoy San Clemente while running, mountain biking, swimming, surfing, and doing all the other cool stuff around here. Katie is a warm, friendly, and skilled therapist/bodyworker. I tested Katie's skills with a massage session before committing to the Ten Series. Then I signed up for the Ten Series because I wanted to fix my unbalanced hips and shoulders, which weren't noticeable to others but I could see the imbalance when I was doing squats. I enjoyed all ten sessions and my conversations with Katie. Katie has a very calm demeanor that makes you feel grounded. The sessions were similar to deep tissue massage but also very different from massages because Katie will work on areas of the body that don't usually get any attention (have you ever had your diaphragm massaged?) and you can feel Katie reorganizing the fascia. My imbalance in the hips and shoulders is not 100% fixed but it's MUCH better than before the Ten Series. I assume it takes more than ten sessions to fix damages done over 40 years. May 3, 2020 Have you ever encountered someone that when you first met them you said to yourself, "Gee, what an open, frank person they are!"? Well, that was my first impression when I met Ms. Kathryn (Katie) Tye. I'm a retired physician who had his own set of aches and pains. I was invited by a physician friend to attend an alternative health care seminar back in September 2019. Katie was one of the presenters at this event and she gave a brief synopsis of her life and career. After listening to her, I felt compelled to make an appointment with her and see what she and structural integration were all about.
