She called me after receiving my email and asked me to share what was going on. I explained that I was having some knee pain and TMJ issues. Imagine my delight to learn that Karen had a number of recommendations on how I could relieve my issues. I immediately went from feeling overwhelmed and hopeless (given that I was positive I needed hands on work) to feeling hopeFUL and inspired. Karen is a fantastic listener and very empathetic and took the time to fully understand what I was experiencing so she could best guide me. I took her up on several recommendations right away and I was amazed to see how powerful her recommendations truly were. I experienced relief surprisingly quickly and I'm continuing to make solid progress. Karen demonstrates a great love and skill for sharing her expertise and helping to educate me about how to best prevent aggravation of my issues and how to take better care of my body moving forward. In that one call, I learned FAR MORE than I ever expected would come from a phone consultation. I am extremely impressed; not just by her expertise and knowledge in a variety of treatment approaches, but by her passion and love for helping others move away from unnecessary pain and back into a life of movement and ease. I am tremendously grateful to Karen! I thought I was out of options and required hands on work, but she had recommendations for methods and self-treatments that have been surprisingly effective! A session with Jane goes a long way to restore some regular movement. Now...I would have to have Jane work on me for a hour plus daily for an entire year for me to be anywhere near normal but Jane made a good dent. It was a big scare for me after I pushed too hard to deliver a large deadline and my arm felt numb tingles. This has occurred before but this time the numbness did not go away after a while so I looked into a specialist to relieve my ailments. After much research, I was blessed to find Terri from Body Restore in Yelp. I called Terri and we were able to discuss my condition. She is also very responsive via text. At first she was booked for the dates and time I wanted, but she immediately contacted me when there was an opening the next day so our fates really aligned. Terri was sweet to email me her New Patient Form, Informed Consent of Acupuncture & Massage Treatments and Notice of Privacy Practice (HIPPA notice). On the day of, there was also a release for Team Oyama since the treatment was on their property. On the day of the appointment I arrived a bit early. Please remember to park in the Team Oyama parking lot or there is plenty of street parking. Their neighbors may tow if you park in the wrong place. Upon entering, there is a designated Team Oyama receptionist who welcomed me back to Terri's treatment room. Terri was super sweet and filled with positive energy!! I just sensed that I was in good hands. I brought my paperwork with me and she went over the forms to additional look at my ailments I wrote down. She also gave me a verbal consultant and explained to me what her plans were for our 1 Hour Massage ($99). The massage treatment included hot stones aromatherapy, massage lotion and whatever Terri felt my body needed. As she left the room for me to settle in, she mentioned that I will be getting a full 1 hour on the table, so all of the time we spent discussing my ailments would not be taken away from my treatment time. We started off face down. Terri was so intuitive and her technique is amazing. She applied a firm pressure, but it was effective, not painful. I was able to breath through most of it. My neck, shoulder, low back, and thighs were really tight, so in some spots where it was too tight, Terri would use the hot stones to help loosen up the area before working on it. I have had many massages in my life, but Terri's massage is one of the most effective, if not the #1, massage I have ever received. Terri was able to release the strain on my left rotator cuff and the numb feelings from my forearm, and soreness in my hands. I felt so much better immediately after the treatment. Considering it took years of overworking conditions to lead me to my pains, I was impressed how much improvements I felt after one treatment. I was able to sleep through the night for the first time in a long time. I honestly would have scheduled an appointment to see Terri again if it wasn't for COVID-19. The day after the appointment, Terri was so sweet, she sent me a text to check on how I was doing. In addition, she even sent me an easy youtube video on an exercise to help pinched nerve and neck pain. I can see that she was genuinely trying to help me feel better and improve my condition whether I was at home or coming in for a session. It is very selfless of her, since there are some individuals who would prefer to make you come back for more sessions. I feel so blessed that the universe sent my Terri and she is definitely on top of my bucketlist of people to see when the COVID-19 crisis is over.

My better half was kind enough to buy a Groupon for a 90 Minute Hot Stone Massage and booked it at 3:30 p.m. on a Thursday. Once my appointment and Groupon were confirmed, I was handed the usual paperwork to fill out and I believe there was a general waiver to sign as well. With the paperwork completed, I was given a few moments of privacy to unclothe and get under the sheets on the table. The massage starts with oil and hot stones being applied to the arms. The heat loosens the muscles which probably makes it easier to apply pressure during the massage. The massage continues on the legs and the masseuse definitely gets deep into the muscle and tissue. The last step before turning over is having the stones on my back (on top of a sheet) for a few minutes. Once I was turned over the massage ends with the shoulders, neck and skull getting a good workout. The masseuse is professional and not very chatty, so if you are looking for some upbeat and talkative masseuse, you should probably look elsewhere. For me, I care about the amount time spent on the massage and if my body feels better when the massage is over. Both of these criteria were met, so I was a pleased with my experience. I thought the music choice was a bit unusual (instrumental piano music), but I actually like the change up from the normal "wave" music. As you can see by the picture of the room, there are no bells and whistles to be found here. If you are looking for a day spa experience, you should probably make an appointment with Burke Williams, all you are getting here is a great massage. Unfortunately for me, I wasn't able to bask in the euphoria of a massage well given because one of my co-workers decided to not stay home from work and contaminated most of the office (including yours truly) with one of the nasty viruses that is rampaging through California this winter. Rohlinism: "Sharing is caring" doesn't apply to viruses! Here is a hint for everyone: if you are sick, stay the hell home! I guess the real winner in all this is the masseuse, because the virus has retied all the knots she had unraveled during our session, so I guess I will be needing a return visit in the future!

The pressure was perfect and unlike other massage places where even though you tell them where it's hurting, they just go ahead and still do a typical "canned" massage routine, Mary really listens to your needs. She has so much experience with sports injuries and helping people heal and her knowledge of anatomy really makes a huge difference! The essential oils also are a great added bonus. I'm a huge fan myself, so it's nice to see multiple modalities being incorporated into the treatments. Her massage room and the center in general are very clean and tidy.
