Bought 2 stools for a total of $150 in January. I was told they were backordered and we would only get them in early Feb. No problem. I asked if they could deliver the stools directly to my home which is 150km away from the store. They answered yes, for $300! (a cab from the store to my house is half as much) I asked if I could send a courrier to pick them up, answer was no.
The stools arrive mid Feb and I received a call from the store to let me know they've arrived. Here's the conversation:
Ass Manager: Your stools are ready for pick up
Me: Great! Will send someone right away
Ass Manager: Actually you will have to go directly to the warehouse
Me: No problem, where is it
Ass Manager: Near Cavendish (close to Ikea not really close to the store)
Me: Ok, we show up with receipt and we'll be good
Ass Manager: No, you have to come by the store to get a purchase order
Me: Huh? What? You said directly to the warehouse. I have the bill of sale of which I purchase the 2 stools, not just a deposit. Why would I require any other paperwork
Ass Manager: Company policy, sorry
Me:Can you email, fax or send it to me some other way. I'm pretty far away
Ass Manager: We cannot, it's company policy
Me: When can they be in store for pick up then.
Ass Manager: Well it is Friday, we make our order wednesdays and will receive it the following Monday...
Me: (now aggravated), So you are telling me that it takes 9 days to get 2 stools from your warehouse to the store (less than 10km)?
Ass Manager: yes, it is the best we can do....
This went on for a while. I finally let go and will wait the 9 extra days. I will spend that time writing on every review possible and directly to customer service. Next time, I'll stick to Amazon where I get a better price, amazing customer service and free delivery most of the time. read more
