This is an amazing group of women that empower, encourage, and motivate each other to be better and stronger. I joined when my daughter was 1 and after we had just moved to the area. I needed to get out and get moving, but was unmotivated to use childcare at local gyms and felt discouraged with at-home workouts. I found Stroller Strong Moms and a whim, joined a class. The first class I left feeling encouraged and excited about my future and fitness.
I love the structure of the class and the fact the kids can join you. It's a bunch of moms and everyone understands if your kiddo needs some attention mid-workout, or if you have to cut it short because of a sick kid. We interact with the kids throughout the workout and I think it's important for the kids to see mom being strong! My daughter began to imitate the movements we do in class.
The location is amazing. How lucky we are to be able to workout at Lover's Point and Pacific Grove? Easy parking, beautiful views, and we get to see whales and deers and ocean views. Definitely a win. There's also classes at Toro Park, and the rolling hills are scenic and create some fun workout stations.
The workouts are modifiable to all levels of fitness. There are some six week postpartum moms, and moms who have been working out for years. Pregnant mamas are encouraged to come, too! My background is in weightlifting and CrossFit, and I find this class very challenging! It's a good mixture of running, weights, body weight and cardio movements. There's something for everyone! And we have yoga on Fridays!
I could write an essay on how much I love this workout and this group of women, but I think you should come see for yourself! read more
