Wonderful little Italian restaurant with reasonable prices. Come ready to eat because the portions are more than generous!

Garlic and Spinach soup

Was up in Columbia Road a few weeks ago as I'd not been up there before . Stupidly, I had taken no cash with me, so popped into this place for a bit of lunch as it accepted card (rule number one: ALWAYS take cash to Columbia Road). Being a Sunday on Columbia Road, it was of course rammed with people, but the staff seemed new to this. I think it's just the way it's run as a family-run affair, but as a customer it seemed chaotic. I wondered around what is essentially an old pub set-up for ten minutes being completely ignored, so I finally asked someone for a menu and sat outside. Once I was served however, the staff were lovely. I didn't have the pizza, but just had a latte and the soup of the day - Spinach and Garlic which sounded wonderful. However, I was slightly disappointed. Now, I LOVE garlic. Loveitloveitloveit. But I could have killed any vampire within a ten foot radius of my breath with the amount of garlic in that soup. The only bonus was that soup was served with plenty of bread and butter which is great, and the portion is generous. The latte was watery milkiness and not very strong with coffee at all. For the price it was passable, but I wouldn't go back. Not when some of the shops nearby were selling some rather awesome looking breaded prawns.....

Seeing that I'm British and been living in California this Bakery is an interesting one to try and…read morewas keen to see if the items are ''authentic American''. Well.. They come pretty close! Can't say I am all that impressed though. Red Velvet Cupcake - The frosting is so sweet and the Cake a little on the dry side. I like my Cakes to be moist. They're pricey too at £2.65 a pop. I thought paying the equivalent of £1.90 - £2.20 a Cupcake was a lot in California but I can't say I didn't expect it here in Britain as everything is more expensive. I do like the location of the Bakery, right near where my Hubby used to work and less than a mile from our beloved Thai Van (best Yellow Chicken Curry in The City btw!). Aside from the regular sized Cupcakes they also sell mini Cupcakes (£1.35) Brownies (£2.50-$3.75) and Whoopie Pies (£3.25) as well as whole Cakes from Sponge (£22 upwards) to Cheesecake (£26) and Pies (Pumpkin, Pecan, Mississippi Mud (£32-£36) ect. *There are also 3 other locations around London with the newest being in Islington in the Angel Building as well as a Food Truck (look at me becoming all ''American'').. or Van I guess I should be calling it that serves local Festivals.

I was lucky enough to attend an event launch night here and my was I impressed. This Zebrano branch…read morerecently opened and it is definitely my favourite. The decor is very modern (and a little strange) but it works! Not so sure about the concrete tables (literally secured into the floor with the iron rods that you would see on a building site) but hey ho I guess it's "Art". The loos also have that industrial feel as the doors are big, heavy metal doors. But I did like the modern lights that surrounded the bar and dance floor area. Right the good stuff- food and drinks! I will certainly go back for the food, I loved the complimentary canapés on offer - mini cones of salmon and cream cheese with caviar, doughnut type things with beef and gravy (sounds weird, but it's so good!), chicken coated with breadcrumbs and lots of other yummy treats. The cocktails were incredibly good and potent (and all of course made with the wonderful Crystal Head Vodka). A thoroughly great night (the complimentary cocktails, canapés and Prosecco reception were a great bonus).

Had my first espresso martini which was amazing. There was only one member of staff working but he was polite and come up to the table twice to check we were okay and if we needed any more drinks. I would recommend it for cocktails and a chilled weekday drink. Not sure what it would be like on a Friday or Saturday

Finding Tibits was exciting since they had a huge selection of items we could both eat and the food was delicious! I was so thrilled to have so many options that I filled two plates and finished them both! My husband and I returned the following night for more! If you have food allergies you will be excited at the spread at this restaurant. If you don't have food allergies or restrictions, you will be surprised at the amazing flavors the restaurant has evoked from the food! My biggest revelation here was the "egg" salad. I have an egg allergy and haven't touched egg in about 10 years. Egg salad is one of those things that I really miss and Tibits nailed the flavor and texture. They used a spice I hadn't heard of prior (Kala Namak) to get the sulfurous flavor of the egg and it was spot on!

The food is decent - I always seem to get something disappointing, but it's moderately good. It feels like it's getting more expensive though, as my husband and I spent £12 and 15 (respectively) the other night, and it wasn't exactly piled high (I was still slightly hungry afterwards), and that was without drinks, bread, or dessert. They also have changed dinner drinks ordering to where they give you a plastic card as your tab. You weigh your plates at the till as normal, but instead of ordering drinks there, you have to do so at your table. (They won't even let you order at the till - they instruct you to go back and order from the table.) It's needlessly complicated for something that should be a simple concept.
