I've had two repairs done so far. The first was my air conditioner. They were fast, efficient, and didn't give me any of the usual mechanic bs that women seem to get. They also gave me a great discount since their credit card machine was down and I had to go to the bank for cash.
The second was brakes. Not only did the fix it as quickly as possible, they repaired it for about $50 less than everyone else in town. Again, they were very upfront with me. They told me about things that would need respired very soon. Gave me a time line and a quote on the potential costs. More importantly, they didn't try to bs me and add unnecessary things to my costs, which seems to be the norm for mechanics dealing with women.
They also didn't talk to me like I know nothing about cars, which also seems to be the case with most mechanics when they deal with women. They answered all of my questions clearly and succinctly. They didn't attempt to do anything more than I authorized. They didn't try to increase costs. They kept it reasonable and probably only made about 5 percent above their costs.
