I decided to give it a try given that my previous year's experience with H&R Block was not the best. I must admit that I did worry that the cost of gas out to San Marcos might outweigh my refund but phew! It did not. Kim was fantastic. He not only plugged my numbers in but he also told me what those numbers were. He then sent me home to find additional documents that would potentially bump up my return. And they did! We worked with this firm for two years, and it proved to be a major setback for our operations. Despite being assigned a "QuickBooks expert," the firm failed to manage our Housecall Pro integration correctly--continually insisting we simply unlink it. As the business owner, I was eventually able to coordinate with the software providers myself and fix the integration settings within just two weeks. Because our books were not being reconciled monthly as promised, we were advised to file 2024 taxes that were admittedly inaccurate to avoid "correction costs." This resulted in us overpaying on our tax liability based on flawed data. After I hired an independent bookkeeper in late 2025, they uncovered over 700 uncategorized transactions dating back nearly a year. Most damagingly, the firm underpaid our Q3 and Q4 Texas state sales tax. I am now personally responsible for the resulting fines and penalties. Despite these documented failures, the firm still charged $1,000 for "work performed" during the period these errors occurred. When I reached out to the owner to dispute this, they refused to take any responsibility for the penalties their mistakes caused. If you value accurate bookkeeping and a firm that stands by their professional work, I strongly recommend looking elsewhere.

Wells Fargo had made Me lose my patience. Oh i've been…read moretrying to open a business account with them. They have horrible service. I've been trying to open a business account for months. They said they needed a letter from the board members stating that I would open an account. I gave them a letter using their words. Now they say that the letter should have said that I was opening the account in my name. Now they say that it's been too long, that the letter is dated over 30 days ago They never gave me a deadline. Now they say that letter is not acceptable. Now they say they don't care what my articles of incorporation say because they don't want to reference it. They say they want to help me open an account. I've opened other business accounts with other banks and it was so fast and easy. Sorry for the rant, just frustrated.
