It was expensive, but after comparing prices with other spots and doing my research, it was a bit less than what others have been charged for the same. It was ready the next day, and it was so nice to have a fully working ac in the heat again. I've had no issues since. So, I scheduled an appointment for Thursday. However, the person I spoke with had a really unpleasant attitude. He kept questioning whether I had the right place, repeating, "We're Big Bend Auto Center, not the other Big Bend Auto store." Why would I be calling if I wasn't sure? It came off as condescending. Then he told me I couldn't wait for my car, and when I asked again--just to clarify if I could wait while they did the estimate--he rudely said no. At that point, I decided to take my business elsewhere. If you can't treat your customers with basic respect, why would I trust you with my car? It's disappointing, especially since they have decent reviews on Yelp and Google. I expected better. Unfortunately, my experience was the complete opposite.

Since this place is close to home, I decided to give them a call on one of my days off last week to set up an appointment. The lady who answered the phone was very pleasant to start with. Then the day came for me to drop off my car. I got there at 8:50am and left them my spare key. The guy did ask me if I needed a ride back home or to wherever which I refused (I live probably a total of one block from this place). Initially, I wasn't too happy when I didn't get a phone call and it was already 2:30pm but I gave them a little more time and called. I figured they probably are busy with other cars and that there might be some order when they work on whichever car. I guess when she asked me on the phone if I was going to wait for the car was the key to determining when they might work on the car? Anyway, it was fine and maybe I'll learn next time or ask them if I could bring my car in closer to the time they might work on it. So I called and asked about my car around 3pm and she told me it's almost ready. This is where I became happy again! I was checking out and saw my bill for a synthetic oil change and holy crap! It was cheaper than I paid for at Jiffy Lube and they did not try to sell me anything extra like that place did. And to top it all off, they have handwashed my car free of charge and dried it (by hand also), and vacuumed the entire inside of my vehicle. I know JL vacuumed my car as well but only the driver's side. And I actually saw them handwashing my car because I came from the back of their shop which is toward the neighborhood. My car was DAMAGED on the left side (only) part of the appliance around the light was off, the left front tire MOULDING was off the wheel and the left FOG light was COMPLETELY out and there was EXTENSIVE damage in the left fog light where wires were pulled out ( per my insurance company). You could hardly see the damage but it was there! To reiterate the left fog light was COMPLETELY OUT! I HAD $2,000 worth of damage! I contacted the CEO, and the Better Business Bureau. The CEO said they COULD NOT PULL UP the video after 30 days to see what happened to my car! The manager on duty knew nothing about the damage. Yet because of their FAILURE to fix the ac issue but charge her $365 a few weeks later she had to take it back because the ac was failing again. This time they found another problem, at last, a more expensive one at that. Why was this not discovered and fixed the first time - no explanation or answer. Just that it needed to be done. While in they discovered the right front headlight was out. Informed my wife that to do this they would have to remove front grill and front end of car which is labor intensive. Bottom line cost $350.00 to replace headlight. Mind you this is not these new fancy cars but a Chevy Equinox (2012). Chevy said this is a simple bulb replacement- no need to remove front grill and such. There is a GOOD REASON this place has 2 stars and falling. Worst customer service imaginable. Again prey on those that don't know much about cars which is most of us. AVOID AT ALL COST.
