Crunch Fitness in East Brunswick, New Jersey, called the police on a Black member, Andrew Cox Sr.,…read moreand his 16-year-old son during a dispute over the teenager's guest identification. Staff rejected the minor's digital school ID and later approached them on the workout floor with police officers after the father asked to speak with a manager. Crunch Fitness's national guest guidelines differ from how local staff handled the incident, and corporate has historically distance itself from rogue franchise actions. Crunch Fitness Official Guest PoliciesAccording to Crunch Fitness's official FAQ and general corporate terms: Identification Rules: National guidelines state that guests using a pass must present a valid government-issued photo ID.Location Discretion: Guest entry requirements and minimum age rules are subject to variation depending on the specific franchise location. The Card Discrepancy: While local East Brunswick staff insisted they needed to physically hold the minor's physical card at the front desk for the duration of the workout, corporate policy pages contain no provision stating a club must hold a guest's physical ID. The member brought his teenage son, most teens under 18 don't have a physical ID unless its a school ID, but they knew the kid was the members son. People working in the gym lack common sense and don't even use their brains for logical communication. This was clearly a customer service issue that could have been resolved by the manager if the workers ever told the manager that a customer needed to speak with him. Running and working at a gym does not need a lot of brain power, you don't have't to be intelligent at all and it appears that it's actually correct. Go figure.

The gym has plenty of equipment. In my experience, there are rare moments when sharing of equipment or waiting for equipment happens. The price of the gym is really good, particularly if seeking an international gym (a gym with international locations). There is not an Anytime Fitness in every country. Yet, after being able to access one on vacation about Tokyo, I think if one has an international itinerary involving a/ location(s) near an Anytime Fitness, the membership price is really good (even considering each location may different in offerings). Plus, the ability to access the gym on one's own, especially with the hours, is really nice. Even so, I prefer the physical key card than the digital card via cellphone. Members get about a 10% discount at Smoothie Kings. There is a common-public locker area where about 54 of the lockers are smaller and bring your own lock (BYOL). There are about 20-ish larger mini-lockers (non-BYOL) [each does not always have a key]. There is a bathroom for individuals that may be seeking bars with a seat in the shower. The other shower bath room has no seat though bars. Two bathrooms do not have showers. Automatic sprayers (air fresheners) in the bathrooms tend to be overhead near the doors. As a person that really puts in improving good effort to care for my overall well-being, I prefer not having chemicals (in this instance, from air fresheners) in my vicinity. There are non-toxic space fresheners.

This is GREAT yoga studio. I love the pace that this moves…read morein. The instructor is very laid back and friendly. I had a groupon to try a few studios in the area. This is probably the best one in terms of the actual practice. The studio is located in a slightly busy street. There is a municipal parking lot behind the studio, so make sure you bring change for the meter (which is free after 6). I used to come to the 6pm classes so it was great. I am really bad with names so I do not remember the name of the instructor. She was a young instructor who really pushed you to try new things. Also, on the other hand, she allowed people to try something less challenging in case some pose seemed too much for them. The classes were small which for me is very important. I am relatively new to yoga so I know that it is important to learn the proper way to perform certain poses and I think a big class is hard to manage in the sense of a one-to-one approach. I left this studio so energized and having sweat A LOT! Which I actually enjoyed. The room is slightly heated. Make sure you bring water. Also, I recommend bringing your own mat. They provide some in the studio but...they are a bit too thin for my taste. The studio is a bit far from me. It is a good 30 minute drive (without traffic) which is the only con for me. I would really enjoy coming here again. I actually have thought about it so I recommend it to anyone interested in getting a great workout and getting some relaxation at the same time! Great work, guys!
