Victoria and Jean are the first smiles you see- always welcoming and helping. The staff and members create a space where you don't feel judged--just encouraged to show up and do your best. What really made a difference for me were the small group classes that helped all fitness levels as well as the layout of the gym. Coaches Erika, John C., Marquise, Jon and Adriel are fantastic and really want to see you succeed! In fact, it felt empowering to know I could adjust things and still make progress. The atmosphere makes it easy to stay consistent, even on days when motivation is low. Overall, it's a place where real people work toward real goals, and that positivity makes all the difference.

So far we are very happy and satisfied with the training, customer service and attentiveness provided by coach Sean. He seems fair yet challenging and also friendly, encouraging and empowering. He is humble and cares about his work. Contemplating signing up for personal lessons myself (probably can afford him on my own). I will follow up when all sessions have been completed. Will also post pictures of his new more intimate facility located steps away from former location.

I liked the steam room, as well. The negatives: the sauna was not working and the machines in the gym are old. Also, I was told by a very nice young female employee that it would cost $20 to use the lockers which was a one-time fee. I paid the $20 and began my workout. A short time later, the girl told me the lockers cost $20 every month. I find that to be ridiculous and said I would like my $20 (that I had just paid less than an hour ago) refunded. A very rude young male employee said it's non-refundable. I said I'd like to speak with the manager. He told me she was teaching swim lessons and she wouldn't be available for four hours! I will be back at the gym tomorrow or the next day and will update my review on this situation.

Shihan Sakataka is an amazing and patient instructor. He's not the most talkative person, but he teaches very methodically and has a great understated sense of humor. In particular, he is amazing with kids (my little sister trained with him for many years and eventually got her black belt). Shihan really lives and breathes Karate. I paid for 2 semesters access, but probably only went a handful a times -- needless to say, I seriously wasted my money. After doing some research for other gyms in the surrounding area, this gym started to look better -- price, location, amenities, and options-wise. I, once again, paid for access for 2 semesters but this time went quite often. I've come to understand that this gym takes some getting used to. The top one being the issue of signing up for machines. I find that if I go during off-peak times, I can usually sign up for the machine I want with no issues at all. You just have to be open to options if you're going during the busier hours; i.e. running on the track instead of going on the treadmill, etc. They offer lots of classes as well, but I haven't gotten a chance to try them yet. I'm planning on trying to catch a Zumba class one of these days. The BF plays basketball a lot here, but that is definitely where this gym lacks order. There are sometimes groups of people that will hog the court and not be fair with allowing everyone the chance to play. It gets a bit "heated" and I feel like one day may break out into a huge fight; which could easily be prevented by just setting up a type of list that makes things fair for everything there ... like how they do the machines. Unsure why they haven't had anything set in place for that yet.
