While I consider the ability to travel a great blessing, I have to admit that certain complications…read moretypically ensue from being away from home. One of those challenges can be how to continue your workout routine when on the road. While I don't have specific recommendations for how to alleviate this situation in all cities, I can certainly provide some assistance when it comes to Bend, Oregon. The Athletic Club of Bend offers numerous opportunities for you to get that workout in when you're in town for a visit. Their amenities include 7 indoor tennis courts, an indoor running track, indoor and outdoor pools, a large spa, cardio equipment, weight room, a full basketball court, and 4 racquetball/squash courts. While those amenities don't necessarily make this place unique, there are two characteristics that do set this place apart. First, they openly accept visitors to the club. Many clubs are very closed minded about this, but not so here. Sure, you'll have to pay a guest fee, but it was very reasonable. Second, I found the members here to be genuinely welcoming. I chose to utilize the club for some tennis and I felt immediately accepted by a group of members who have a standing weekly match. After just 2 hours together I felt like a part of the group and left with names and phone numbers for the next time that I visit Bend. Sure, you can come up with an excuse to not workout while in Bend, but that excuse can't be that there's no facilities that you have access to or there are no friendly people here to connect with. And that's...Henry's Take. #bendexcercise #bendtennis #bendgym

I would 100% go back here immediately! One of the best workout classes I have been to…read more I did a strength class and was actually sore the day after! The instructor was so easy to talk to and did a great job making me feel comfortable and understand what to expect. The workout itself could be performed by a varying of age groups and experiences levels. My favorite workouts are the ones that feel easy and fun, but leave me sore. This workout did exactly that. They also have childcare on sight . I would book in advance and the studio can be quite busy. If driving there for the first time, Apple Maps will direct you to the upper parking lot. It is located I little farther down the drive way in the lower parking lot near the river.

This is a long overdue review for Barre3! I was a member in Portland at the SE location, and spent…read moremy first few months in Bend getting my workout on at this awesome studio. Today I returned, and was reminded of a few things... 1. 2015 presented some challenges that caused me to get out of my normal workout-aholic state - I am out of shape! 2. Everyone at Barre3 from the instructors to the participants are an awesome group of people. 3. Holy crap - it seems like an easy workout as your not doing large movements, but wow, those little contractions equal a whole lot of "shakes and quakes" and make significant changes in your body. Classes are an hour, and start out with a warmup floor segment, then move on to a lower body segment at the barre, then back to the floor for more legwork incorporating upper body weight training, and finally, an ab and glute section on the mats. The classes go by quickly, generate a ton of sweat and soreness, and the music keeps you going when you think you can't do one more rep. I'm going to be one sore and happy gal tomorrow after this awesome workout. Sidenote: They offer childcare during classes and have a small play area, and I've noticed over my time at the various studios that this is a workout that expectant mama's love, as it's easy to modify and still get results while creating a tiny beautiful human.

I think the equipment is good quality and there are plenty of options. The place is clean and well organized. The downside is you are paying quite a bit for no shower or changing rooms. I would rate this place as okay. It's much better than Planet Fitness. It offers free weights…read more However, this location being on the NW side of town has its challenges, like every gym will. Throughout the day, it's pretty slow in general. As 6 or so approaches, you'll find yourself among the egotistic meat heads who will kick you off equipment or hog multiple pieces of equipment though they are using something else. You also get rush #1 of the high school kids. I had to tell one of them to calm down just last week because of the way he came at me to get his cable machine back. He was nowhere near the machine. When 8 rolls around, you have the worst crowd of the day. You have the second rush of high schoolers, who just let their friends in at will. There's almost no equipment available to use. There's a bunch of them just standing around talking. You can feel the vibe of their toxic egos. I mean, just imagine a gym in a high school and that's what you'll get around this time. Overall, I've learned I cannot go after work if I get off at 7:30PM. Otherwise, it's a decent place to go.

I felt that she listened to me and paid attention to my specific needs. She was very intuitive and had exactly the right pressure throughout the massage. She knew how to work my most tender areas with a gentle and productive intention. She had the ability to really find the exact spots that I so desperately needed work on. She gave my body the time it needed to respond especially where I really hold a lot of tension, without being too aggressive. Jessica provided a self place of healing, and I felt that she genuinely cared about ME. She has a beautiful energy that I enjoy very much! She is very professional and knowledgeable. I am excited to learn more from her, because she has training in ayurvedic healing and cranial sacral massage. I felt that she addressed my needs as a whole...mind, body, and spirit...not just the physical body. I appreciate her compassion. I would highly recommend Jessica to anyone looking for a skilled massage therapist that truly cares about the well-being of the people on her table.
