Ok, before today i hadn't been to Planet Fitness in....close to 9 months?? I don't know, but it has…read morebeen a while. Yesterday I booked a flight to NYC. I deserve a vacation and in October I will be taking a NONSTOP flight to JFK. I will have a week in the best city in the country...I am planning on visiting all 5 boroughs (Beastie Boy style) and hitting up the best eats à la the food network. I figured that if I am 5 months out from this excursion, I deserve to look and feel better when I do it. Tonight after work I hit the gym and did some cardio and a little chest work. It was surprising how my body reacted...it wants to be challenged...ironic that I just bought a TV, but now I can balance it out. There has been some changes to the gym. It looks like there was some rearranging of the machines and some of the elliptical machines had been upgraded. Some things haven't changed though. Like people not understanding how to control their weights. There was also a machine that was squeaking...I think it was a recumbent bike...it seriously needs some WD40. I couldn't be the only one annoyed by it...could I? Oh well, I am looking forward to my trip and I am planning on looking a lot better come October...

The equipment hasn't been cleaned in a while by staff - which is evident by NO staft walking around cleaning. And the hand prints everywhere. Gross. Then the locker room OH my. What the hot as hot is happening?? Why is it so dang hot in the women's. Gross. And y'all that doesn't help with the body odor smell. Also there's just busted up stuff. Like this is becoming a super nasty gym. What the heck? I also hate the new ARC. I miss the old equipment. And the new layout is odd. Why are there two random step blocks next to the cables? I've been here a FULL Hour and currently the new trainer (who hired him btw???) And another guy are holding the counter up leaning up against it. No one is cleaning anything. Y'all better fix this or LOTS more bad reviews to come!

I had a mostly positive experience here during my pregnancy, and usually enjoyed classes…read more After giving birth, it has been hard to make it in on regular basis as I struggle with balancing being a new mom, work, and my health. As I try to get back into prioritizing my health again, I had suspended my membership but still enjoyed drop in classes. I even still paid the $39 (increased) one time class fee. So after having a night where I struggled all night with a sick baby, I was so proud of myself that I STILL made it into the 6am class (I can only make it in before she wakes up and my husband goes to work). I did arrive a few minutes late and it took me another minute to get my shoes off and coat hung (it was 607 when I was ready to get on the reformed). It was quite disappointing that I was denied entry at this time. A company that lacks any compassion or flexibility is not a company I plan to frequent or refer others to in the future. It is also worth noting that I was denied entry by an instructor I've been treated rudely by in the past which makes me question if she has an underlying bias against me (perhaps against people of color or plus size women) as she was the only one to repeatedly attempt to deny me entry or challenge my ability to do the class while I was pregnant (despite providing physician documentation and no push back from other instructors). This is not a business I will be returning to.

I am disappointed to be writing such a negative review, but want to save others their time and…read moreespecially their money by avoiding this studio. The classes are ALWAYS waitlisted - you have to sign up weeks in advance to get a spot, and the late cancellation fees are steep. The workouts are the most repetitive and ineffective of any other pilates studio I have attended. The instructors do not give any modifications on how to make any of the movements more challenging or provide suggestions to increase intensity. Some of the instructors are great, but there are a couple that come off quite rude and make no effort to get to you, even if you attend class everyday for months. There is no initial communication about how to "level up" and once you finally jump through all of the hoops to attend a Level 2 class, they are only offered on a very limited schedule. The studio was always FREEZING and the music was often very quiet so all you can hear is others audibly breathing. When I tried to cancel my membership, I provided the written 30 day notice, but they say that due to the "billing cycle" cadence, I have to pay for almost an entire extra month of my membership. It is not ever made clear when the billing cycle is, or by which date you would need to cancel to avoid being billed another entire month so BEWARE. They are extremely unresponsive and it all feels like a total scam. I have attended so many different studios, specifically Pilates, and was so disappointed that this one was not worth the high price tag.

Extremely disappointing customer service…read more I read some other reviews on Google after my experience and I totally agree with their assessment. I arrived less than a minute late to a Pure Barre class and was not allowed in. I understood the policy and accepted losing my classpass credit. When I asked at the front desk if the credit would be returned, I was told no, which is ok and then I simply left. A few days later, I noticed a $31 charge for a late cancellation. The problem? I never canceled the class. I called Pure Barre, and they confirmed that the front desk employee had mistakenly marked me as a late cancellation. I explained that I was willing to accept losing the class credit, but I absolutely should not be charged $31 for a class I never canceled. Their response was basically, "Sorry, but we can't fix it." So, to be clear: their employee made the error, they acknowledged the error, and yet I'm still expected to pay for it. Idk and Idc who the money goes to... classpass or PB but it's PB's mistake to incorrectly cancel the class. I understand having strict policies, but there should also be basic accountability when your own staff makes a mistake. I'm also a member at Orangetheory for years, which has strict policies too because of their HIIT classes (way intense than PB), but they manage to balance those policies with reasonable customer service. This experience made me feel like Pure Barre doesn't care about treating customers fairly. Very disappointing and definitely not how I expected a fitness studio to handle a simple mistake. I am obviously never going to this place, especially when there is another barre studio on Teal, in case anyone is looking! Btw they are very accommodating and friendly too!
