We found this cute place when we arrived in Milfontes. We didn't have a reservation, but they worked out a table for us. Service all around was excellent. The food however was lackluster. What a wonderful find on our stroll through old town Vila Nova de Milfontes. Friendly and welcoming cafe with a shelf of books you can read whilst enjoying a cup of coffee. My daughter had bacalhau (cod fish) bruschetta which was loaded with fish, tomatoes and cheese - very flavourful and filling. I opted for pasta with clams - very simple flavours of olive oil, garlic, Parmesan and coriander and it was delicious. Not to be missed is their Almond Tart with Blueberry Chocolate gelato - the tart was a little over baked but it went very well with the gelato which was refreshing. We also ordered freshly squeezed orange and carrot juice which was good but would have been better if the oranges and carrots were chilled. Service was excellent and attentive. read more

English: To start this off, this little restaurant has a nice, vacation-look to it, with the straw umbrellas and wooden tables and mini stools you can sit on outside while enjoying the view of the alleyway you eat in, or sit inside the cozy room. You can eat while reading the free selection of books they have on the window. I can't talk about anything else on the menu other than the burger I got, but my burger's meat tasted rich and perfect, well-done. The bread isn't actual burger bread, it's a typical Portuguese bread, but it tastes delicious. The burger I got came with cheese, tomato, and lettuce. The plate of fries was separate if you purchased a burger with bread on it, but the fries were perfect salted, not too much, not too little. Our server was also friendly, while speaking English and Portuguese perfectly. Overall, if you're coming for a lunch, come here and have something to eat! Their selection of seafood and meats will have you wanting something!
