Got a call my tow truck driver left with the key. After trying to reach him or triple AAA I received a callback, saying his mechanic took the key to lunch. He didn't seem very interested in what I explained was the problem. Personally, I found the owner Brad to be a little rude. They did diagnose the car at half price. When he told me the problem I said I had a mechanic fix last year so I needed to take it back to him under warranty. He still asked why don't I get it fixed there for over $1000? Then waited 30 minutes to pay for diagnosing. Overall, not impressed read more

Took my 2019 accord in today to get my AC checked for blowing hot air. Brad did a full inspection for me and found that my compressor was leaking and it was going to cost a pretty penny to fully repair and get the refrigerant flushed/replaced. I would've had no choice but to pay cause summer is around the corner. But instead of charging me, he looking into the Honda parts and saw that there was a recall for my exact car on those parts and now I'm scheduled to get everything fixed for free this Friday! Avoid Stress Free Auto Care if you value honesty. I was quoted $745 JUST to remove a single fuel injector on my BMW N26 -- no repair, no replacement, and not even a guarantee the injector was bad. Purely labor to "see what happens." The service advisor claimed it would take 4 hours because the technician (Paul) would need to remove the intake to access the injector. That statement alone shows a serious lack of knowledge or a deliberate attempt to inflate labor. On an N26 engine, the injectors are NOT on the intake. They are located above the ignition coils and are accessed from the top. Intake removal is completely unnecessary. Injector removal involves relieving HPFP pressure, draining residual fuel, removing the fuel rail, and pulling the injector. That's it. Quoting four hours for this is absurd. Charging $745 just to remove a part--with zero guarantee of diagnosis or fix--is unacceptable. This felt like a fishing expedition at the customer's expense, not professional diagnostics. If you don't know the platform, say so. Don't pass inflated labor costs onto customers while providing incorrect explanations. BMW owners: get a second or third opinion before letting this shop touch your car. read more

I was looking for a place to complete a quick oil change... And just an oil change - no upselling other services or any funky business. I found Stress- Free Auto Care. With the name itself, I had to try it out. They conduct a full detailed multi-point digital inspection of your car which will tells you what they suggest you get repaired. They give you their price point and you can choose if you want it done or not. The oil change was fairly priced and service was completed in under an hour - truly a stress free experience. Brad in the front office was nice. He set me up with my invoice, played smooth jazz in the lobby, and ensured that I was comfortable while I waited. read more

After reading the reviews, Connie & Dave need to be present at all hours of opening or re-train their staff appropriately. Because all of these great reviews and I did not have their great experience. Brad lacks much expertise after saying he's been in the business doing all kinds of cars for 30yrs. He was exhausting to deal with and brought much stress to a situation that could have been easily taken care of. His dramatics and immaturity completely changed the trajectory of this appointment. My B.F. called in to schedule an appointment for an oil change he gave him the make and model of the vehicle. Nathan quoted him a price of $200 but there was a coupon and he would do it for $99.95. So he scheduled the appointment and I went to drop the vehicle off. After arriving, I was greeted by Brad, who suppose to be my tech. We gathered the needed information and I told him this was the vehicles 1st oil change. He looked it up and said, with a loud shocking voice, "WOW THAT TAKES 9 QTS of OIL!!!!" I said, have you never changed the oil in one of these vehicles before? He said oh no I've changed oil on all sorts of cars for 30 years. But somehow was shocked by this one. I asked him, "it would seem after working on vehicles for 30 years and no they take different types of oil and amounts, you would think that when someone calls in to make an appointment, you would look up their make and model of the vehicle to know how much oil the vehicle takes in order to know how much to quote them , so you are not having to UP charge them later?" he didn't have a reply for that. He said it would be $176, instead of $99. I told him we would have to get an approval for the extra charges. He wanted to add on to the original quote for the extra oil. As we were waiting for the approval. He then asks me, "when was the first oil change? " I looked at him and said, "didn't you hear me five minutes ago I just told you this is his first oil change? ". He replied, "Ohhhhh it says here on the Internet that your oil should be changed every 21,000 miles." I said no that is not correct. When I bought the vehicle I was told the oil needed to be changed every five years or 50,000 miles which ever came first. I just received an email from the dealership stating that I was ready for an oil change soon and should schedule an appointment at the dealership. Instead, we called "Stress Free Auto" which was cheaper and supposedly stress-free! Brad gets very dramatic, throws his arms in the air, sits back in his chair and says, "I'm afraid to touch his car." I said, "you're kidding, right? It's an oil change." Again with dramatics he said, "oh no I'm too afraid to touch the car." I replied, "well this is the most stressful interaction I've had today coming from the place that advertises stress-free!! and said, "what a joke." And left. read more

They are kind experts in the industry who took the time to ensure I was informed about what services were being done and all of my options. In addition, I was given Lyft rides to and from my home as part of my service package. This business is definitely operated in a manner that alleviates a great deal of stress. It's been years since I've received this level of service. They exceeded my expectations and I'm completely satisfied with my experience. Jeep Cherokee running rough at times - check engine light on. Called various shops in my area - a few never called back, dealer said 2 weeks before I could get in. Saw good reviews on Stress Auto Care on El Cajon Blvd. Talked to Brad who could get me right in. The communication is excellent on updates. Brad asked if he could keep it overnight to do a cold start, which I ok'd and it did show the problem. Fuel Injector replaced, new spark plugs. When I got home I noticed the cost of the fuel injector seemed high. Brad agreed but said corporate puts the prices in, not each individual shop so he called up the chain with no success. Brad advised me to email the CEO directly which I did. Mr. Weiss responded immediately and laid out their pricing and said their system failed in the pricing and offered me an immediate refund. Pretty sure most CEO's (or president of the company) have others to respond and buffer any issues away from them, but the quickness, explanation and resolution to my problem by Mr. Weiss was impressive. Soooo... from Brad, the shop manager, mechanics, to the leader of the company I don't think you can find a more honest and reliable shop to have your car worked on. read more

I was given an easy to understand list about my vehicle in order of concern. My truck was making a noise only heard at freeway speeds that only started after I had gone to another well known "Complete Auto Care" shop in La Mesa. I was very pleased with there service. They give a complimentary check of the vehicle with photos helping you be able to maintain your car and become aware of things it needs maintenence on. Also I was able to bring in the part I new needed to be fix and sace some money so it helped a lot getting and asking for rhe quotes I needed. Friendly enough. They may overbook appointments. Don't know for sure but they seem always busy (At the shop in La mesa). Lounge is clean as is the garage. For simple stuff like fluid changes they are fine. Never needed anything more so can't speak to that. My only gripe is that the front desk is poorly run... computers are slow and out of date, personnel are poorly trained, printers may or may not work, etc. it makes for a bad look and causes me to question the competency of the technicians. The work was done half way. Part itself was replaced but the extras weren't done. I had a catalytic converter replace but the technician overlooked the debris that went into the resonator causing excessive backpresser making the truck drive worse then it did when it went in the shop. I had to return the truck because the shop allowed the truck to be released without any type of quality control. Then the second day the service writer diagnosed the issue is something other the there mistake and tried to over charge me $1000 for an intake manifold runner (vacuum control valve) The truth only came out when another technician was surprised that I was towing the vehicle back home because he know that the truck was running fine after cleaning the debris for the resonator. read more

Stress Free was available when I needed work to be done and immediately set me up with an appointment withing 2 hours from the time of my call. The place has a Lobby which they keep clean and stocked with snacks and things to drink while you are waiting. Staff was very friendly and when I needed to get home from the shop they called and payed for lift to get me there. I recommend giving them a shot at your car repairs. In my case the price was higher then the value of the car so after the diagnostic test I opted out of repair but guaranty I would have used them for the repair.​ read more
