I would rate this business 0 stars if I could. I hired Lourys Custom Pools about 3 years ago to re…read moreplaster and retile my pool and eventually to do the weekly maintenance on my pool. I chose this company over cheaper ones because they were "licensed" and in business for over 35 years, well after 9 months the tile on the spa started falling off. I repeatedly told them there was a problem somewhere. It took him about 1 year and a half to address the problem and all he did was re tile the spa. Soon after that my pool was dirty and turning green all the time. I told him there was a problem and he said that was the best he could do. I let them go and hired a new pool person that I had to pay to bring my pool back to life, what a difference!!. Tiles started falling off again from the spa and now we have a leak. It turns out that Lourys Pool Service originally failed to put expansion joints around the pool and failed to tell me this would cause all kinds of future problems. Any experience contractor would know this!! Now I am faced with having to hire a real company to fix very expensive problems Lourys Custom Pools left behind!! If you want to avoid an unprofessional and unethical company Do Not Hire Them!!

Twice after they left I had the water tested to see that they were not doing things right. Being feed up I called Joe. He came right over. Without telling him the problem he advised me what had not been done. I hired Joe and he started immediately. Since day one everything as been great. He is always available to answer our questions if needed prior to the day of the week he services our pool. Great prices.

I have a rental house in Hacienda Heights with a pool. My mother originally hired Jim Montoya to…read moreservice the pool when she lived in the house. I kept him on when it became a rental. For the first few years Jim did a quality job at servicing the pool, no issues. Then he apparently moved farther from the HH area and the troubles began. When the tenants would complain about the pool not being clean or looking green from algae he would blame the tenants and claim they kept turning off the filter. There was always a fight going on between my Property Manager and Jim Montoya. After new tenants moved in Jim told me that the pool filter needed to be replaced because it was leaking and not big enough to keep the pool clean and pool sweep running correctly. This had not been an issue before? I found out that he had taken the pool sweep out of the pool and left it sitting there on the deck for months. I asked him to go ahead and replace the pool filter with a larger capacity one. He did and the algae problem continued and got even worse. There was no use in paying for pool service and having to listen to the tenants complain about the pool, not to mention damage to the pool. So, I told Jim Montoya that we needed to part ways and that I would be hiring someone else to start the first of August. He again blamed all the problems on the tenants and said my Property Manager did not like him but said he understood. He agreed to finish servicing the pool through the end of July, but didn't. In the middle of all the heat he did nothing to battle the algae problem and just let it go. The PM hired a new pool guy after buying $30 worth of chemicals and adding it to the pool herself. The new pool guy checked the new filter system that Jim Montoya had installed and found the piping had been hooked up backwards. The water "in" had been hooked to the water "out" and vice versa. That's why the pool would not clear up. It was nobody's fault but his own and he couldn't figure it out so he blamed the people using the pool "too much" and the Property Manager "for not liking him". I will have to pay the new pool guy to fix Jim's mess, an extra $30 for chemicals, and $150 to clean the filter two months after replacing the whole unit. Jim Montoya may have been good at one time but not anymore. He has never done the right thing and offered to pay for his mistake.

I am so thankful I bumped into Ray when we were getting our pool serviced when purchasing our home. All I'm gonna say is he is so reliable and honest and takes his time to explain any questions you may have. He works hard and respects your time. If he can't make it a certain day he will notify you and he also works late just to make sure you don't miss any week of cleaning. I'm beyond grateful. As long as he's still working we will always have him apart of our family through these pool journeys. My husband and I appreciates him! We highly recommend Capri Pool Service! Our experience with Mike Poireir and Sun Country Pool and Spa was NOT good! Our first contact with…read moreMike was back on early March 5, 2018. Mike seemed very knowledgeable when it came to pool remodeling. He made some suggestions on what we could do to improve the overall appearance of our remodel, which my wife and I thought were great ideas. A few other companies we looked into didn't go that far during our initial meeting for a quote. Mike mentioned he had a great rating on BBB website and he was licensed and bonded, which was extremely important to us. On March 13th, we chose Mike to move forward with our pool remodel. However, he did mention he was taking a 2-week vacation and would start our remodeling job as soon as he returned. "No problem," so we thought... A month passed by without any contact from Mike. After numerous texted messages to him with no response, on April 16th, he finally responded back. He stated he had a death in his family but was back in town and ready to start our remodeling job. The lack of communication during this waiting period made us think twice about using Mike, but family is important so we stuck by him. An additional two weeks went by and on April 28th, we met with Mike and signed a contract with Sun Country Pool and Spa. We provided Mike with the deposit and we also asked him to order a specific Pentair Intellibrite COLOR Pool Light, which he agreed to order and install, per the contract. At this point things went downhill. Three weeks passed before the pool was drained on May 18th. Mike apologized for the delay...A few more weeks later the plaster demolition was done. After an additional three weeks and numerous texted messages the tile & stacked stone was finally completed (around June 4th). He apologized again...The first thing we noticed was he installed the wrong stacked stone. When I contacted Mike to inform him it was the wrong stone his response was "the one you guys picked out was discontinued, so I just pick what I thought would be best". He never called to get our opinion and only told us once I called him after the stone was already installed. My wife and I were both furious and expressed this to Mike. Of course he apologized, yet again and we moved forward with the job. On, June 9th the pool was plastered and the pebble stone was completed and it looked good; However, another problem we noticed was the 2x2 we requested to be installed around our jacuzzi and pool entry stairs were not installed! I called Mike and once again no communication! He mentioned the tile store was out of the 2x2 tile, so he had the plaster crew to move forward without it. Again, he never communicated this to us until after we brought it to his attention and of course the job was already complete! The crazy thing is we had left-over 2x2 from the initial tile installation that he could have used, but at this point there was nothing we could do. On June 10th, Mike and another guy came to acid wash the pool, clean up all trash and debris (which they failed to do), install the Pentair Intellibrite COLOR Pool Light and start filling pool with water. We provided Mike with the final check and off he went. The next day I went to my local pool store for chemicals and explained to them what upgrades were done to my pool and they mentioned that the pool light Mike installed would not work. Mike did NOT order and install the correct light I requested! Once again he failed to communicate with me and installed the wrong light! I ended up spending $600 for the part we initially requested him to get in the first place. I had two neighbors inquire about using Mike's company for pool upgrades, but after my horrible experience I could NOT recommend him to anybody! He is dishonest and doesn't communicate (at all) and after weeks of waiting for him and his crew to come back (never showed) to collect the debris and trash they left in my backyard I ended up paying someone to clean it up! I have all texts messages to back up my experience with Mike Poireir and Sun Country Pool and Spa. Wished I would have backed out a long time ago, but we were already in too deep...DO NOT TRUST his kind and friendly demeanor!

Professionalism at its finest. The owner was on site daily to make sure the work was done perfectly. He checked in often with my husband and I to make sure we liked everything and it was what we wanted. I thought it would take longer but it was about 9 days start to finish. The price was reasonable and the quality of work was fantastic! We are so happy with our new pool, thank you to all the crew and the owner Mike! If you are in the market for a remodel hire Sum Country Pool and Spa!! You won't be sorry.

Likely the scariest and worst service ever! Maintenance…read morebasics should be, skim, sweep, vacuum and test water. We were lucky to get skim and slight sweep. He said the pool only needs vacuuming when its dirty. He broke our backwah lever and then said he wouldn't fix it because it was an unnecessary part..uh ok. We agreed to have him replace the mastic and he did such a shoddy job, leaving mastic spills all over my brick coping, which I now have to pay to get cleaned. He also said he cleaned our filters and the new company came in and showed us there wasn't any DE. We also had to shock our pool due to all the algae during his short stint. When we fired him and paid him only half of what he wanted, he threatened us, saying we messed with the wrong MUTHER F$!^ER. Since then our pool has been vandalized and we know he did it!!!!!! I wish i could give him zero stars!! STAY AWAY FROM THIS GUY!!!!!!!

Ahmed gave me a very fair bid to repair and re plaster and re tile and I couldn't have been more pleased with the completed job. The crew were professional and courteous and completed the entire job in a week's time. The old pool looks "Sparkling" new again! They did a beautiful job!
