Tried the Street Kitchen Food Truck for the first time on Sunday in Long Beach with no line as they just opened and it was absolutely delicious. I wanted to try the pork belly grilled cheese sandwich but they were out of pork belly and suggested the pulled pork grilled cheese but I opted for the filet mignon quesadilla instead. It did not disappoint. I waited about five minutes and boom it was ready. Good in size and height the filet mignon was chopped in a cube shape. It was cooked well and tasted fresh with the oozing cheese. Service was great as well.

When you need some comfort food in a snap, Street Kitchen is to the rescue! We stumbled upon this truck during our stroll on Night on Broadway (which was so much fun btw). I ordered the Filet Mignon Mac & Cheese because I'm bad and boujee and this dish embodies that phrase in every way. I mean, c'mon, if bad and boujee were a food group this is the poster child. The song was literally playing in my head while I was eating. The filet was perfectly seasoned, wasn't dry and really meshed well with the mac and cheese, complementing it very well. I was afraid the mac and the filet would both be overly salty but that was not the case. The bf had the brisket quesadilla, which I also had the pleasure of trying because what's his is mine and... that's it (kidding...or not). We were eyeing the lobster quesadilla but it must have been a fan favorite since it was sold-out. Brisket quesadilla was so damn good. I came with tomatoes/pico de gallo fusion and it gave it a much more refreshing taste than I was expecting. Food was a tad pricey but hey, I ordered something rather fancy so I guess that makes sense.

My friends and I discovered @StreetKitchenLA (Street Kitchen) when we were on one of our lunch food truck runs. This food truck is unique looking because it's an open kitchen truck where you can see the folks slicing, dicing, preparing and cooking your food. There is a guy who stands outside of the truck and takes your food orders. The guy taking the orders asked if it was our first time to try this truck and he suggested the quesadillas. My friend and I decided to get one jerk chicken quesadilla and one of their special pork belly quesadillas and split the two. The jerk chicken quesadilla was $8 and the pork belly quesadilla was $12. The jerk chicken quesadilla was ok. The chicken was nice and soft and there was a distict flavor of spice and pepper through out this quesadilla. The overall flavor was different from anything I've ever had. The pork belly quesadilla was my favorite. This one had tender pieces of pork belly, mixed in with cheese, pico de gallo and avocado. It was delicious at first bite. Soft pork, melted cheese and a nice touch of avocado just made this a clear winner. Both quesadillas were nice and soft and had plenty of ingredients. They were also both huge in size. They cut the quesadillas in three but I was full after one slice. I had plenty to share and enough for lunch and dinner. I really liked the quesadillas from this truck. I would definitely recommend looking at their daily specials because the pork belly quesadila was on the specials list and was my absolute favorite during this food truck run!

During a time when Black people are dying, this really isn't funny.

Okay, I normally don't review food trucks simply because they're kinda hard to find and review on Yelp. However, I'm making an exception today. I was introduced to Street Kitchen via Sunday Sessions at Grand Park. While the offerings were impressive - filet mignon tacos, lobster grilled cheese, kobe burgers - the prices for said offerings were expensive. I mean a kobe burger, fries, and a soda will set you back $13. Now I know what you're thinking...you're paying for the quality so it's supposed to be pricey. That's the point - I'm paying for QUALITY. Honestly, the bacon kobe burger slider was nothing to write home about. In fact, the name of said burger was better than the actual burger itself. The only thing worth writing is the fries, which were just plain fries, were generous for $5, and even then, I'm not sure if $5 was worth the offering. Here's what grinds my gears about this particular food truck and I really hope the owners/cooks/whatever the hipsters like to call themselves clarify. They had a picture of Prince (yes, thee Prince) saying, 'Just like books and black olives, all tips matter.' The real quotation is 'Just like books and black lives, all albums matter.' During a time when Black people are being arrested just for being Black, we're being gunned down, choked to death, and our perpetrators are literally getting off, that wasn't a funny joke, nor was it 'tongue-in-cheek'. It was in incredibly poor taste and I'm surprised no one has mentioned that to the owners. If it wasn't for the fact I took a picture of said 'ha ha funny', I doubt anyone would believe me. Naturally, I didn't give a tip and to be honest, I shouldn't have eaten there but I was so hungry and I stood in line for a long time. I will know next time to skip this food truck for its poor food and even poorer sense of awareness. It was the epitome of White privilege and me thinks not. I will patronize other food trucks from this moment on.

The 1st time I checked this truck out was on January, 2014 at Narbonne High School (BOOoOOo!!! Sorry, I went to Carson High! LMAO!) during their South Bay Din Din A Go Go. I was sold via Jacko, who approached me and convinced me to try their food as I was walking around, hungrier than a walker in a forrest who lived off squirrels instead of humans. At the time that I went to and arrived at the truck, they ran out of filet mignon... but Jacko recommended a kobe beef sandwich that he personally made, with a hint of avocado. I honestly LOVED IT. It was definitely one of the best damn sandwiches I've ever tasted. It's up there with the grilled cheese sandwiches that The Grilled Cheese Truck makes...and that's not a dis-respect to The Grilled Cheese Truck at all. The 2nd time I checked out this truck was on February, 2014 with my cousin Fred; who came all the way from the Bay Area to try out some So. Cali food trucks. Jacko and the Street Kitchen truck was around, so I told him that he had to try it. We ended up getting the filet mignon quesadilla and DAMN.... it was so F'n delicious... it made my mouth water so much, that by the time I was finished eating it... it felt like I was cotton-mouthed. Yes... it felt like an edible hit off a joint that didn't have any sticks, stems or seeds..................from what I've heard lol. I give this truck 5 stars because of the awesome food quality and epic customer service by Jacko and the cooks!! GREAT JOB and keep up the wonderful work! Street Kitchen is definitely one of my all time favorite food trucks now!

This was one of many food trucks parked across the street from LACMA (Los Angeles County Museum of Art) and you'll find tacos, sliders (sold out when I got here), quesadillas, grilled cheese, sandwiches, wraps, burgers, fries, nachos, and desserts. And yes, filet mignon is the main theme for this food truck (take one of the food categories and fill in the blank: filet mignon __________ [EXCEPT burgers]). *** Filet Mignon Quesadilla (Wagyu natural filet mignon [American Kobe beef], four cheese, mild cheddar, Monterey Jack, asadero queso oaxaca, fresh pico de gallo, roasted poblano salsa verde, gourmet flour tortilla, $13): Crunchy flour tortilla as juices from filet mignon & poblano salsa verde slowly dripped into the take-out foam container. Good enough portion to keep me somewhat filled, but $13 is still really expensive for slightly above average (B-) quesadilla. (3.5/5) Cajun Shrimp Taco (Shrimp marinated in street Cajun spice mix, fresh pico de gallo, Cajun slaw, roasted poblano salsa verde, corn tortilla, $4): Mediocre shrimp quality, but pretty generous portion. (3.25/5) *** Well you are basically overpaying for food that don't taste terrible. Considering there are more misses than hits for most of food trucks, I think Street Kitchen is a fairly safe food truck option.

The hard working guys doing their thing. Great job, guys!!
    Jenn W.

Forget calories and just go for taste. Better yet, marvel over the fact that this is a trailer, not a food truck, and two main guys churn out all that food with a ton of variety!! I cannot believe I haven't rated these guys yet and I've eaten from them 4 times. Wait, let me get a few more napkins before I dirty the keyboard even more... Lose the food truck idea and look for a trailer type stand with only 3 guys (two are doing the cooking and one of the is the owner and the other is taking orders) running the whole shebang. You can see your food being made right in front of you from start to finish. Nothing fancy here and it is straight street food from sliders to quesadilla's and hot dogs, so stow the cutlery away. Food: Thus far, I've had their lobster grilled cheese and I'm seriously hooked on it. I'm not the kind of person who likes beef or pork in their grilled cheese, but a few foodie friends of mine suggested I give it a whirl anyways. Melted cheese, bacon and lobster (I opted out of the avocado option) and I'm in heaven. This one is pretty hefty too and I was full by the time I was done. I highly suggest this one if you're looking for something different. Lobster quesadilla: You MUST come ravenous for this one. Skip lunch because by the time I was done, I couldn't eat anything else afterward. Dessert will likely not be an option after downing this monster because I swear this thing weighed a pound when the chef handed it to me. I even accused him of trying to kill me!! (He laughed). I can't remember what was in it, but I do remember cole slaw, lobster and cheddar cheese all folded into a quesadilla and grilled to perfection. It is messy to eat this one, so grab all the towels/napkins you can. Better yet, have a damp towel. This one is probably the most pricey thing on their menu ($16.00) and I suggest you split it with someone. Kobe slider: Beefy and tiny and a great intro to what they serve. Quality is what it's all about here and you pay for it, but so worth it. I consider this the perfect not-so-hungry-but-don't-want-to-fill-all-the-way-up starter bite :) Tips: 1) There's not much on their FB page about where they will be parked, but I'm going to assume they tweet. There's a lot more info about them on Yelp than anywhere else, but I do wish they had a website so it would be easier to find them. 2) They have a very large menu and there is sure to be something you'll like. I haven't even tried 1/2 their menu yet and I believe they do take credit cards and debit, but ask them first. 3) Be prepared to stand waiting for your order (unless you're first in line) about 5-10 depending on what you order. Some things will take a little longer than others. Summary: Their menu may not be to everyone's taste, but I for one, love them. Yes, it's greasy, filling and sometimes messy but I have yet to be disappointed. You want to press the self destruct button on your diet?? See these guys:) To the owner: Thank you for the tea!!

Displays of the food amongst ton of pictures on the street kitchen

On a rainy food truck friday, many of the food trucks had called it a night. But amongst the few last standing was this Street Kitchen. A larger food truck than most I've come across. They even have 2 built in mini refrigerators for soft drinks. Of the 10 food trucks that were left, I decided on Street Kitchen not only because of the attention it got from my pallet but they had real displays of their food out on a table, along with photos on the truck and on a sign. New age Mexican American mixed street style, deliciousness. I'm a lobster gal, and how serendipitous was it that the lobster slider included: brioche type buns, lobster, bacon, tons of Avocado, cole slaw, chipotle sauce, if I added one thing it would be some sweet onion or a hint of barbecue sauce, this slider was missing something... That'll feed almost everyone of my cravings. Perhaps the side of fries or tots would fulfill all cravings? Why not have both? I also ordered a 1/2 tater tots (Be sure to mix so they don't taste over seasoned)& 1/2 Cajun chipotle French fries are exquisite. The meeting of crispy fry meeting saucy concoction, meeting appetizing satisfaction. If potato heaven were a place on earth street kitchen is where it's at. The right amount of crisp in both the tots and fries. No soggy from the spreads they were still in crisp tact. One of the most Amazing potato experiences ever. Do they deliver? Cater? I want it all. Service was friendly, you can see into the truck and the street kitchen crew is all smiles & you can tell that they are having a good time. Makes you say food was definitely made with love.

    Pork belly grilled cheese OMG
    Lidiya M.

The line was long, the night was hot, and the menu was appealing as fuck; calorie-heavy, cheese-saturated, deep fried--what more can a girl ask for? I couldn't resist. There were easily twenty people ahead of us, and it took about 20-25 minutes to get to the truck and place our order (plus another 15 after that to get our food). It's not the fastest, but I think that's also because everyone was ordering 3-4 items. The food's a little up there in terms of price (one sandwich plus a bottled water set me back $14, no sides) and an order of fries, albeit gargantuan, runs about $8. But it's worth it, guys. The portions are extremely satisfying. The pork belly grilled cheese is easily the best sandwich I've ever had. Street Kitchen knows what they're doing with meat. That pork belly was tender and fell apart in my mouth; whatever they cook it in, wow. Someone find me the recipe and I'll buy it off you. NAME YOUR PRICE. Pair that with sharp cheddar (not even my favorite kind of cheese, but the perfect compliment to the pork), fresh avocado, and aioli... whoa. And the bread... Every bite was mind-blowing. I took my first bite and fell in love; I was so enlightened I had to give each of my THREE friends a taste before I continued on with the ecstasy that was this sandwich. YOU HAVE TO GET IT. SERIOUSLY. I can't stop thinking about it. My friend had the brisket mac and cheese, and hers was not quite as exciting as mine; the meat was perfect (see earlier comments), but the mac and cheese had just a little too much cheese variation. A hodgepodge of flavors that almost worked: Parmesan had no place in this dish. Good day. The meat made it good, but I have to say--my dish was way better. Get the sandwiches. Nom nom nom. I would definitely seek this truck out for another taste.

Garlic Parmesan Tater Tots & Chipotle Shrimp Quesadilla
    Nik E.

#41 (2017) Well ya see here... it took about 30 minutes to land at this food truck but I'm just glad I did actually succumb to my friend's decision. Because at first I thought as anti-street kitchen. But after eating it I flipped and I'm pro-street kitchen! Let's just say they ain't got any alternative facts goin on here. No funny business!! So I was at an event out at the LA Coliseum and it was low key whack so I'm like food can ease the pain! Good thing it was a free event because lord knows I'd be fighting and writing letters for my money back! So yea!! There was so much good stuff on that menu!!! It's like where do I go with my order. So many options!! Even though I wanted to grab like three or four thangs it was just unrealistic because each item alone was $12+ so o ended up grabbing the Garlic Parmesan Tater Tots and the Chipotle Shrimp Quesadilla! The Tots were so good!! I couldn't put them down!! I kept eating!! And same for the quesadilla! So cheesy!! So chipotley!!! So shrimpy!!! So saucy!!! Like y'all needs to try if you wanna drop a few coins!! I would say the downfall is the cost! I would def try again but it can't be something that I would grub on the regular!

    Jerk Chicken Wrap: $13.00
    Paul V.

For a brief moment, Street Kitchen appeared to be a refreshing anomaly in the otherwise bland stream of B-Team food trucks that frequent my office. Yelp helped build the hype here, but after an overpriced, underwhelming Jerk Chicken Wrap, Street Kitchen fell back into the the middle of the masses. Star 1: How were the service and atmosphere? The guy in the truck during my visit to Street Kitchen on a Monday afternoon was nice, and my Jerk Chicken Wrap came out surprisingly quickly. Right from the get-go I had some hesitations about the breadth of the menu and some of the items. Can a truck really effectively do jerk chicken, "kobe" beef, and filet mignon? I had my doubts. Star Granted. Star 2: How were the portions relative to the cost? $13.00 for a Jerk Chicken Wrap? Yikes. That's like, a chipotle burrito with double meat and guacamole. While my wrap wasn't small, it wasn't quite enough to fully satisfy my ambitious lunch craving. No Star Granted. Stars 3 and 4: How was the food? Jerk Chicken is one of my favorite dishes, and the jerk spice alone can turn even a standard cheese into glory. I had high expectations for a jerk chicken burrito, but these ingredients fell short. The jerk chicken wasn't at all spicy or flavorful, the beans and lettuce were bland, and the whole thing was overflowing with juices in a way that made it difficult to eat. At the end of the day it simply wasn't great. Single Star Granted. Star 5: Would you eat here every day if you could? I wouldn't. No Star Granted.

I got a pulled pork fries this week from Street Kitchen food truck. They have many items on the menu, so it took me a while to decide. Pulled pork fries is recommended by the cashier and I like it too, especially the pork. I don't mind more sauce in it, and hope that there can be fewer fries. You'd want to eat it when it's warm, cuz the fries would become soggy after a while. It's a bit pricy ($13+), but you may split into two meals as it has a big serving size.

    Lobster grilled cheese.
    Lica N.

Food Trucking Friday! Was out at the Granada Hills Friday Night Food truck round up and the Street Kitchen truck immediately caught our eye with their grilled cheese. Going with something with bread for the first meal of the night was probably not the right course of attack but my mouth definitely didn't have any issue with it nor did my tummy. One thing you will quickly notice is that they have their stove on the outside so you actually get to see them cooking unlike other truck where the stove is in the inside of the truck. So we waiting around for about 10 min or so to get out sammie. Still took about 10 min or so to get our sammie. Lobster grilled cheese ~ http://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/street-kitchen-hollywood?select=7ouFeMeZ7sNXlrxuiNtIxQ#8wR-lqEyc_zJRe9bBHS3_Q is what stoogie and I split. It was a nice size portion even with sharing a half each. The grilled cheese had a OK amount of lobster and avocado. I wished there was more lobster in it. It was the first time I had gotten a grilled cheese's off a food truck! I would definitely try some of the other tasty stuff they serve off this truck next time around. Eyes ~ Whoa Nose ~ Smells yum. Ear ~ Happy diners waiting on their order. Mouth ~ Oh man this is tasty grilled cheese! Tummy ~ So satisfied

Anyone who loves food in LA knows Dulan's Soul Food…read more And anyone who loves food in Nashville knows Prince's Hot Chicken (or if you've visited there...I've been to Prince's on 3 separate trips down from Chi Town lol). The thought of the two teaming up seems unattainable but it's been done and it's called Dulanville Food Truck! Yep, they serve up delicious eats from both establishments on one food truck! It's a cute truck that I was able to try at Infatuation's Eeeeatsfest. Of course what they offer depends on where you are catching them, but they will always have some form of that signature Prince's hot chicken recipe on the menu and if you're smart, you'll get that. I also highly recommend their Mac & Smokin' Cheese if it's on offer...omggggg. Mac & cheese is one of my guilty pleasures, childhood classic comfort foods, and this version is fabulous. Creamy pasta baked with four cheeses but having that signature soul punch with a dash of Hotville's sweet heat seasoning. Obsessed! I saw they're going to be at Winterfest today so am going to try to swing by for some more yums! You can see where they are on their website or ig! :)

Hotville, founded by the family that invented the Nashville hot chicken sandwich (Howlin' Ray's is…read morean imitator), teamed up with LA soul food giant Dulan's to open a food truck: Dulanville. It's excellent. I hadn't had Hotville since their brick & mortar space closed last year. Other than the food coming out of a truck, nothing seems to have changed. I tried the Dulanville truck for the first time when they were at Three Weaver's Brewery. I had the fish sandwich, fries, collard greens, banana pudding, and peach cobbler. The fish sandwich was spicy, fresh, and delicious, and the portion size was very generous. The sides were tasty, and the desserts worth ordering. I really enjoyed the banana pudding, which had nice slices of fresh banana and was topped with a Pepperidge Farm chessman cookie. The peach cobbler was really good, too. Service was friendly - just like it was at the brick and mortar space. And the wait time was short. I'm glad Hotville is back - even if in food truck form - and look forward to eating with them again.

Mariscos Jaliscos is a simple, humble and easy going food truck that easily beats any sit in boujee restaurant. Their menu is simple and easy to understand. Mariscos Jalisco is best known for their Fried shrimp tacos however, they have one of the best aguachiles I've tasted hands down. Their shrimp tacos are absolutely amazing with the right crunchiness and soft fried shrimp inside. The sauce that comes with these tacos are jam packed with flavor adding to the overall flavors/texture of the shrimp taco. Hurts to say it but this might be my new favorite shrimp taco in ELA/Boyle Heights area. The service here is quick and friendly. I went on a Friday afternoon and did not find busy crowds at this food truck. Street parking is available and the times that i've visited other food trucks nearby i was able to find quick parking. Its a busy street so you will find people coming in and out of parking spots most of the time. I enjoyed my experience here at Mariscos Jalisco and will be coming back very soon. You all need to come to this place.
