OH HENRY I BLOODY LOVE YA!…read more Big Henry's is my favourite food truck in Hobart for 2016, hands down. They're doing pretty good holding onto the crown in 2017 too, I won't lie to you. Why do I love them? I dunno, their food just really rates with me. The top of the menu board features the Big Henry, a whopper of a tasty sanger with fries included--the only problem with getting this one means you can't get poutine instead, and it was the promise of actual cheese curds on their poutine that first had me chasing this truck down way back when. If you get the poutine, you may just have enough room to squeeze in a burger bun, as well. But will you have the fried chicken? (It's so good.) Or the mac & cheese patty? (It sounds like a heart attack but I want to go to there.) What I CAN tell you is if you get the poutine, a burger bun AND the mac & cheese sticks then you definitely won't fit all of them in. Look, it was ambitious, but I was also impatient and needed to try all of them. Life is a real struggle sometimes. Big Henry's update their locations on Facebook on a weekly basis, but currently they're in fairly regular spots (this makes it all the more heartbreaking when they AREN'T there one week for whatever reason, but we're all adults and we'll survive). Possibly the best place to find them is most Sundays at the Food Truck Market down at Red Square, but be warned, you'll be spoilt for choice. Don't say I didn't warn you, because I literally just did. (Get Big Henry's, though.)

Mother of Pearl Sweeties and this is a must-visit for cookie lovers. We tried the red velvet cheesecake cookie, and let me tell you, it was perfection! The cookie itself had that classic red velvet flavor, rich but not too sweet, with a beautiful, creamy cheesecake filling in the center. It was just the right balance of flavors--soft, a little decadent, and so satisfying. I could easily have eaten ten of these. If you're in Hobart and at the market, do yourself a favor and pick one up!

Simple. Delicious. Well, not TOO simple--the salsas and sauces that top their delicious meat fillings have been blowing my mind. I think my favourite so far has been the salmon topped with caramelised lime crema and peach salsa. SO FRESH, SO FULL OF CRAZY FLAVOUR. So yes, definitely delicious. It's still early days, but it looks like the TacoTaco hombres are going to be parking from Wednesdays through to Saturdays, from around 6/7pm until 10pm. Keep an eye on their facebook and/or twitter page for where they'll be each night. I'm so stoked that these guys have taken a chance on Hobartian support because so far the demand has been way high. I like the packaging of the messy, drooly burgers--securely wrapped in alfoil THEN burger packaging, for ultimate spill-trappage. I'm also a big fan of the trucker chips, with dat sauce. However... they just get an average from me, for a few reasons. The trucker chips, while delicious, have been a little on the undercooked side the two times I've had them now (gimme chips with a bit of crunch or gimme death, basically). And the burgers are good but they're on par with the Standard, my fave burger place... and the truck's selection is minimal. Of course, because it's a truck! They can't run a dozen different burgers! I get it! But I gotta be honest. I just gotta feel my feelings. And I want to place my order from the comfort of my bed before running past the truck to grab and go.
