So fresh, so good!
Dee M.

It's always great tasting fresh produce by the locals, today I had the chance to walk around and buy a few bits and pieces from honey to jams and nuts however the big winner for me was the octopus! Oh my oh my! I can't think of anything that comes remotely close to how good this tasted! You can get a sampler size but don't waste your time! You'd regret not getting the large! You get a free shot of ouzo with it too! Which really compliments it! Oh and the oysters were the best I've ever had! It's a nice way to meet the locals and everyone is so friendly! Love love loved it!

No farm animals here. Just fresh stuff

MONA's grassy knoll has come to life on Saturdays in summer. From 11am until 4pm every Saturday,…read morenot only will you be able to explore the cave of wonder that is the Museum of Old and New Art, but you'll also be able to score yourself some delicious brunch, lunch or afternoon tea from a wide selection of stalls that form MoMa, AKA the MONA Market. I'm leaning toward the food aspect of the market because I haven't been overwhelmed by an abundance of other offerings when I've visited. There's a great play corner for the kids, but I don't have any of those, so it's not relevant to me. There's a milk crate massage stall (don't worry, you just sit on the milk crate while someone massages you), some beautiful pottery that's way out of my price range, and other bits and bobs... but I think the drawcard really is the food and drink on offer. My favourite stall this year is by far the 21st Amendment, AKA the gin bar, followed closely by whatever food takes my lunch-fancy at the time. I highly recommend the Pop Dogs. Once you've got your hands full, take a seat on one of the bright pink beanbags and enjoy Mr Ritchie's crazy musical curation, whatever it may be at the time. (Take an umbrella or a hat for sunny days, because there's no shade on the lawn.)

Running throughout summer, this is the ideal spot to duck out for a break when wondering the MONA…read moregallery. The food stalls are brilliant, had some excellent quail, tacos and even a wallaby burger (yes, that's a lot of food but I was sharing!). There's also live music and some entertainment for kids if you require that. Personally I'm all about the food!
