White Cow opened around the same time as my true froyo love, Vita. There was hot debate through the…read moretown over which was better. I kept my distance for ages because I was hands down a Vita supporter, and even when I scoped out White Cow I wasn't too impressed with the froyo options, and the toppings in particular were junky candy, basically Cold Rock style without the fun of the chopping board. But then... then I discovered White Cow's gelato and sorbet. Forget froyo, this stuff is the glorious stuff of legend. So delicious, and such excellent flavours. Even the sorbet tastes creamy! How! I don't care, don't explain it to me. All I know is whenever I'm passing through Centrepoint, I can't resist White Cow's siren song. EFTPOS is available but under $10 will cost you an extra 30c for savings/cheque or $1 for credit. (IMO worth it for stuff this good but YMMV.) Make sure you try a bunch of flavours before locking in, too.

Also a range of gelato flavours are available too!! Flavours ranging from my personal favorite Turkish Delight, to Nutella, Apple Pie, Fior de Latte (an extra creamy and extra yummy vanilla flavour) and cookies and cream!!! On special occasions they have also developed a Krispy Kreme flavour gelato!!!! But you have to be quick for that one!! Their Facebook page is constantly updated with new flavours. Smoothies and milkshakes are also available (but I personally never get past the gelato or frozen yoghurt!!) Definitely recommend trying these guys!! Great for all ages!

One for the sweet-tooths of the apple isle, Sweet Envy is a dentist's delight. Adorably kitted out…read morein whitewash and pastels, this dessert haven has a way of calming you down and exciting you all at once. With a mix of old favourites and new creations all whipped up in-house, you won't walk out of here disappointed--even if you're not a sweets fan, because there's also a small selection of savoury items like sandwiches and rolls available. One of the best corners of the shop is the ice-cream window, and yes, all frozen goods are made in-house as well. Let crazy flavours like butter beer be your guide. Yes, you can even get away with asking for a sample spoon of a couple of flavours (but don't get too greedy). There are a few tables both inside and outside if you'd like to stop in for morning or afternoon tea (hot and cold beverages are also available), but don't be scared to get some precious cargo to take away instead (or as well!).

We took a focaccia home but sat in store to enjoy a short Mac and flat white. We had the Lexington pancake - out of curiosity really and the PB&J cupcake. The Lexington pancake had cream, lemon curd and a berry compote tart. Yummy is the best way to describe it but the lavender flavoured cream was a bit overpowering - probably just not used to it. Coffee was alright and helped me continue on our food nerd journey through Hobart! All things were reasonably priced too by our Sydneysider standards of usually paying too much for not as good! Definitely recommend this to anyone visiting Hobart!
