Very nice little shop in salado! They have a variety of products, like locally made preserves, jellies, salsa, candles, coffee, tea, mugs, and books. We tried the prickly pear candy, and it was unique and yummy! We also had some drinks there; they serve coffee, smoothies, and tea. This place is so adorable and if you go on Saturday afternoon you can hear some sweet older guys singing their endearing original music. What a treasure!! We have been to the strawberry patch so many times. I honestly like the concept and would LOVE to support this business HOWEVER I went in on Sunday evening (tonight) specifically because I had some friends from out of town and wanted to show them a Texas roaster. I went in and went to the huge containers of coffee beans lining the wall. My friend and I went to smell some beans (as you do) with the intent of buying them. The owner chastised us demanding we not "Put our face in the beans." (Which we did not). We decided to leave because of his abrasive tone. He CHASED us outside to yell at us like school children. His half hearted apology then degraded into a rant about how we barged in to his "home" to riffle through his prized beans and said the store was closed even though the doors were open and the signage indicated otherwise. We were walking through beautiful downtown Saledo and had to double back past the store where he again chastised us and berated us for our behavior. PLEASE DO NOT PATRONIZE this business. The owner is an outright ass and does not deserve your business. read more

Love love love Strawberry Patch! We stopped by for coffee on the way from Austin to Dallas. It's just off the highway. The owner Jim, a US Special Forces veteran and former trainer at Fort Hood, was AWESOME. Though the store was closing in 15 when we arrived, he made us regular coffee and pressed coffee, and gave us an amazingly impressive lesson in coffee! Jim was a 'sommelier' of coffee - I just don't know how else to explain his knowledge. Plus, the coffee was delicious. I normally take both sugar and cream in my coffee and didn't need either, the coffee was so smooth. At the same time, my husband who likes neither coffee nor sugar, also thought it was great. TRY THIS PLACE OUT! We now plan on stopping on each trip. read more

This is a very nice little store. I only briefly looked through it, but hey had a wide assortment of jams, jellies, salsas, etc. I had a latte from here which was pretty good. I know some people who love the coffee from here, but I don't drink coffee, so I can't quite comment on that. Very nice store that is well worth stopping by if you've got time to kill and you're in Salado. read more

I have been to the Strawberry Patch the few times I've been in Salado. I thought it was such a gem when I visited in the past. I even raved about this place to my mother-in-law and asked her to bring us beans from there whenever she came to visit us in Austin. My last visit was an outright embarrassing experience. I was really excited to PURCHASE some coffee as I don't come to Salado frequently and brought friends from out of town to show them how charming the store was. The owner was completely rude to my friends and reprimanded them for smelling the coffee beans prior to purchase. How are you supposed to know which beans you're going to buy if you can't snell them!?! I will NEVER step foot in that hostile environment again, and I'll gladly get coffee from HEB or ANYWHERE other than Strawberry Patch. The owner should be ashamed of his treatment toward actual, NOW former customers. read more

I love the Strawberry Patch! This unique store/bistro immediately made me feel at home with it's cozy atmosphere and friendly services! I highly recommend stoping by and trying one of their amazing coffees, and (my personal favorite) the Pepper Patch Salasa. The Strawberry Patch is a traditional stop for my family during Christmas... Nothing goes better with funnel cakes than hot chocolate with whip cream and chocolate drissel! Unfortunately, I can only comment on my very limited experience of stopping by to grab a coffee being starting the rest of my day. Did not have a chance to try one of their flavored coffees, as they only had a plain pot on the boiler. For a $2 cup of coffee, it wasn't very good, although the cream being presented in a nice piece of glassware present at least the illusion it tasted better. read more

My husband and I stop in the Strawberry Patch every time we are in Salado to pick up coffee. They have an extensive assortment of flavors and we always love what we buy. They also have a small coffee bar in the back of the store that is really good. Bring cash for the coffee bar, but the store itself accepts all kinds of payment. read more
