Third time here. I enjoy it because it is close to home and offers a ton of activities for kids, but this year some of those activities were canceled without any warning and it seemed as if no one really knew what was happening. We were told it was due to staffing issues at one point, which we understand. This is a great camping area with 3 pools, one which is adult only. You can rent a site or cabin. Bingo nights are the best nights!!

Workers are very rude to adults and children. They have stupid rules. Very low class of people that camp here. Golf carts drive reckless. Nothing for kids 15 year olds to do. All activities are for younger or older. The worker at the gate did not even tell us the right way to campsite. Will not come back. read more

Horrible staff. I've been going here for years and the past few experiences have been horrible. It's under new management or something and rules are changing, staff are unpleasant and witch-like, to frame it nicely. They've been just about threatening and aggressive and when I asked for their names, they wouldn't tell me. The pool was supposed to be heated and it wasn't. All my kids were looking forward to it. And every time I asked staff about it they gave me a different answer, mostly with nasty remarks. Would not recommend this campsite anymore. There's less than half the activities that there used to be. And for the poor location with no points of interest nearby, it's no longer worth their rising prices to argue with nasty staff all weekend. read more

Went camping with friends July 19-22. 3 sites. No wifi as advertised. Grass was not mowed on our sites. Bees in the grass everywhere. Septic overflowed and friends could not pump out. Golf cart age to operate is 21 and strictly enforced. What a joke! Kids driving all over. Speed limit of 8mph not enforced either. Felt 100.00 a night for full hookups was too expensive for what we did/did not receive. We smelled sewer most of the weekend and come to find out all the tanks were full and the alarm kept going off and no one responded. We mentioned overflowing sewer when we left and they were sending someone right down. I dont think we will be returning. We live locally and there are much nicer campgrounds. read more

Can I give NO star rating? If I could I would. This place was such a huge disappointment. Upon arriving to our rented trailer we were welcomed with mouse droppings (POOP) on our bed and broken cabinet doors. Absolutely gross!!!!!! The atmosphere at the pool area is complete hillbilly trash. We were supposed to stay with my family for two nights we left after the first night. Absolute Failure on this ownership, they should be ashamed! read more

This is our first time visiting this campground and it wasn't the best first experience. My family had been looking forward to going and the first two days were very fun. Our problem began when in the afternoon of our second day a staff member came up to our site #41, and told us that the site we were staying in does not allow dogs. The park is advertised as dog friendly so we were not aware that this site didn't allow dogs. She explained that there are 4 sites out of 64 that didn't allow dogs and that was one of them. Had we decided to bring our dog spur of the moment we would have understood why it was a problem for us to stay there but because we told them that we would have our pet with us when we booked the site over a month ago it seemed very unprofessional and inconvenient to have us move sites to a dog friendly site. They should have originally put us in a dog friendly site to begin with. We were forced to pack up all of our stuff and relocate a few sites over. They offered to send people to help us move out but no one showed up the next day to help us like they said they would. Also they said they wanted us out by 10 am so they could bring a cleaning crew in and we were out at that time only to find out our new site wasn't ready so we didn't get to move in until after 1 which was ridiculous because we had refrigerated items sitting in our car. Fortunately we had other families with us so we had a place to put the meat and frozen items. It was just very annoying to have us move around especially since they had originally put us Ina site and when we checked in they said they had moved us to a different one and only to have us move again. the pool area is also very crowded. The pools themselves are dirty. I was leaning against the edge of the pool and ran my hand across the wall and there were brown smudges from where the dirt had been sitting. The bathrooms floors are sweeped but the toilets are dirty. The only good thing about the camp is the amount of activities it offers and the courts they have available. Safe to say we won't be recommending this place to anyone or coming back here anytime in the distant future. read more

Discovered they went back to trash pickup getting rid of the disgusting and malodorous dumpster they had all around the park. Very good news! I would have bumped them up to 4 stars except disgusting dumpsters have been replaced with disgusting gypsy moths. Given a choice I'd rather have the dumpsters than the gypsy moths. I know Mother Nature can be cruel, but after last year the park should have sprayed and taking steps to avert the gypsy moth rain of poop. I stayed at another campground where they did spray and the gypsy moth problem was pretty much nil. I so want these folks to get it right. Another nice feature here is this game called pickleball. They have four courts. It's addictive! read more

Well here you have it.... I have loved this place for over ten years (10) The campground and most of the people who took care of any and all situations that arose. They get two stars as they do have a lot to offer in the way of kids activities. With that being said it is WAY overpriced for any type of stay. They have a fee of approximately $12.00 dollars per day per person to come enjoy the facilities. That was a complete nuisance when I was a seasonal as they took up space in the pools and made the grill line even LONGER but now I feel it is best to visit this campground under that and bring your own food in your car for a picnic. They do have a grill but it is a bit pricey and the wait for the food can be over an hour. They terminated all the employees that were part of the future solutions and brought in some idiots and that New Ed who is supposed to run things as they do in Florida pfft what a complete idiot! In case you haven't noticed this is NOT Florida!!! YOUR WAY ISN'T WORKING you are driving any seasonals away and the ones who love this campground think that if they BUY their site they will have a better say in what goes on. I truly hope for them that things change as THEY are awesome and deserve the best to bad ED is driving the Park into the DIRT!! Loved it but that is in the past..... Will miss you all but like I said will come back for a day to visit the wonderful friends I made when this park was worth paying the over $5,400.00 a season plus electric... MISS you !!! read more

This place really is a fun experience and great time. We were here from Thursday to Sunday, Father's Day weekend. I've been to a lot of camp grounds and there's a lot to do here. Couple pools, hot tubs, giant field for games, arcade, amphitheater, & ice cream. I'm shocked at the low ratings. I will defiantly be back!! Very tight filthy site. Firepit was filled with trash we had to clean. Our 2 children had picked up broken glass which was riddled throughout the site as well. Very noisy! Group started setup at 1:30am with headlights on! No enforcement of quiet hours at all! Worst experience I had in my 30plus years of camping read more

Strawberry Park campground.. I haven't been here since I was a kid, we decided to spend the weekend in one of the park model campers to give it a try. Unit 119F, a bare bones rickety park model camper that has definitely seen better days. The $350+- price tag is a bit much for what is provided. The outside of the unit it decent.. it has a nice deck and picnic table but once inside the real fun begins. A long attached porch greets you once inside with curtains that barely cover the windows and a futon that looks like a 400lb person did a squat jump on and bent the frame to hell. The kitchen area is decent with plenty of storage a full fridge/freezer, gas stove, microwave and sink (nothing else is provided) there is another futon in the living area off the kitchen and a table with 4 chairs for breakfast, lunch or dinner. The bathroom off the hallway is outdated and pretty nasty.. the corners look like they are full of mold, broken cabinet doors and a fan that sounds like it will lift the unit off into space. The master bedroom has a bed.. a plastic wrapped mattress that again is old and sinks to the middle.. a smalll tv storage and a mirror. We stayed here in oct so the nights got pretty cold, the heat would pump like crazy in the bedroom and our kids froze in the living room. All in all, would never choose this unit again. I will say the mouse traps throughout the house were a bonus! read more

I hate to have to give this review, especially now while businesses are hurting but as someone who was looking for somewhere safe and fun to take my family I hope my review can help. I've stayed at SP before in 2009 and it was great. In 2020 however this is not the case. My family rented a Park Model as did my in-laws. They are severely dated. Think 1984 and nothing has been updated since. Mouse traps everywhere including the kitchen counter. The beds are unsleepable. The futon is stained with who knows what. Blinds are broken. Shower barely works. It's just disgusting. They are taking proper measures to ensure social distancing in some areas but far as deep cleaning any of the rentals - that's simply not happening. I've received 2 departure emails asking for suggestions and have replied with these same concerns without hearing back from anyone to say they are sorry. We had a 3 day reservation and left after 24 hours. Sorry if you're looking for somewhere to take your family right now. This is not the place. read more

We have been coming here for years and prior to new ownership it was amazing. We were here for Labor Day and trash wasn't picked up for 48 hours. Nasty! Golf carts driving around at high speeds could nip any child playing. Need to have more enforcement of the speed. The baseball field is now filled with weeds. The golf cart rentals are in disarray. The kids playground had plastic steps all broken. The campground filled with rocks and taped it. I hope someone doesn't fall on them. I will say this as a positive, the employees working the pool section were amazing. They kept the kids safe and reminded guests of the rules. The food was also amazing. The food pavilion was very clean too. Bingo is always fun. They sent me the generic "we want to hear about your experience email" and I filled it out. I haven't heard from them since that email. I waited to see if they would respond before writing this review. I hope they can correct the issues because it is a fun location. They just need to reinvest back into the business instead of just "take, take, take"... read more

OVERPRICED, RV RENTALS THAT SMELL LIKE SMOKE, LACK OF PRIDE AND CUSTOMER SERVICE Sadly this campground is no where near the park that it was 15 years ago. Took my 6 year old daughter and mother to a RV rental that has an overwhelming smell of smoke. They had candles everywhere to try and cover the smoke and acted like they new nothing about it. After 1 day they gave us the option of moving to another RV which was much smaller and didn't give us the monetary difference. Also after we moved the new RV had a terrible sewer smell only to find out that it was clogged. Its quite evident that they DO NOT check all operations of any rentals and that its up to the renters to bring it to their attention to fix these things while people are already staying in them. Also, the bathrooms are NOT clean, wifi was down, one of the hot tubs was down, many of the RV rentals need to be powerwashed, the splash pad had algae causing a child to fall and hit their chin, the stairs leading to the pool area was full of weeds and the stairs to the 2nd floor rec room need attention and care. They have expanded ( i.e the splash pad and bouncy pad); however, do not expand if you cannot take care of what you have. If you charge a premium, make sure you deliver. Many people told me to go to Normandy Farms, but all of my great childhood memories were at Strawberry Park and I wanted to share that with my family, only to be embarrassed and disappointed for their lack of attention and care. I should also mention that I did reach out to let them to give them the benefit of the doubt 3 days ago, but as predicted I have not heard from anyone. I predict they will be out of business within the next 5 years unfortunately read more

The park called me less than 48 hours before our stay to tell me that they had to cancel our reservation (that I made 4 1/2 months ago) due to bedbugs in the cabin I rented. Really???!!! We were packed and all ready to go. How do they expect me to find alternate vacation plans in 48 hrs with kids and a dog. They couldn't even offer me something comparable. We spent 4 days here..This place was WONDERFUL!!! Every one was super polite , from security to workers and management . We had rented a golfcart and had a little problem with it. We got STUCK with no power. Called on phone to security, tried to give them some landmarks and they were there in less than 5 minutes, figured out the problem and we were on our way!!! Camp ground is VERY FAMILY oriented.Nice PLAYGROUNDS (many). SUPER SWIMMING POOLS (many. Some adult, some child) Plenty of activities, games, game room, superbounce, hot tub, etc. Again VERY NICE Campground. Everyone Polite and Courteous!!!! By the way, we rented one of their 'on site' trailers.. super clean and quiet. Nice site with large table, fire pit and deck. I'm handicaped, so the golfcarts were a PLUS. Whole campsite was handicap accessible. read more

I have camped my entire life and this was the worst I have ever experienced. Start with the positives. The pool area was nice but as others mentioned there is zero shade. They have plenty of activities but the staff are very unprepared and uninterested. The real problems start when the quiet hours begin at 11. There is absolutely zero enforcement of quiet hours. Loud Spanish music until 1AM from one site and yelling adults and kids at all hours of the night from several others. Between two nights I probably got about 5 hours of sleep. The entire experience is ruined for everyone there, because they allow a few sites to make as much noise as they want all through the night. You can try to call and talk to the management but good luck, they just don't answer. Trust me, if you decide to go I suggest you bring some heavy duty ear plugs to drown out the noise from the few lowlife visitors that ruin the experience for all. read more

This campground offers so much, with such improved management and staff. It's Cajun Zydeco dance weekend which they will teach you the two step and dance the day and night away. Michelle the entertainment director, has activities all summer long, from kickball for the kids to bingo offering many ways to go home a winner, and entertainment every weekend including music and bands for all ages! Karl the manager of it all is on top of everything and gives one a safe down home experience, by the way the staff that saved our dog on their day off! Would camp nowhere else! read more

Come here every year with family. Yes there have been changes to the park but it is still a great place to go and have fun. The themed weekends are great. There is a lot to do as far as activities, the pools are nice and kids love the splash pad. In July we like to go blueberry picking right down the road to maple lane farm which is nice. The park is close to Foxwoods so we usually go and have dinner and go shopping in the outlets at Foxwoods while the kids like the arcade. The themed weekends are a lot of fun. Our favorite themed weekend is Halloween the park gets decorated very nicely and campsites look great plus there is trick or treating. Everyone is very friendly and the kids usually make friends with other kids. read more

Recently camped here with a group and I have to say that the campground needs some work! For the high price you have to pay to stay here, you would expect to see nicer grounds, CLEANER bathrooms, and a much better pool area. The pool area is AWFUL! The water is a cloudy yellow, and was soooooo over crowded you could hardly stick your toe in the water. It looks like they haven't upgraded the pools since they first opened and obviously have expanded the campground and not the common area's. If they just added a few more pool area's it may solve the issue, but I was pretty much disgusted with the pool. read more

Very disappointed. We were given a faulty RV whereby the fuses kept blowing out. We arrived late Friday afternoon for the weekend which check out time is 10 a.m. The fuses started blowing out Friday when we arrived. After multiple calls to and visits by maintenance, a visit by the electrician on Saturday afternoon which did not fix the problem, I went to speak to the manager, Dave I believe his name is, who was too busy to speak to me as something had gone wrong with payroll that he was trying to fix as none of the employees got paid. At first, they couldn't find my reservation, then when they did, I was told he was willing to move us to another campsite. Bear in mind, by this time, it was 5:30 p.m Saturday evening, we had 5 children with us, and to pack up and move to another site only to re-pack and be off the site the next morning by 10 a.m. was laughable even by his own employees who told me that was a ridiculous solution. He was NOT accomodating in any way. I was also told they had had problem with this particular RV last year. Be very careful if you book an RV from them. Make sure you check that everything is in good working order before you unpack because if it isn't don't expect the management to help you out in any way. read more

My family and I stayed at strawberry park a few other times over the years. This year is the first time we decided to mix it up and rent a cabin rather than bring our camper. I wish I could say our experience was great. We are not a hard family to please and never had to complain at a place we stayed at. When I called to make the reservation I asked about late check out. We live on eastern long island for us to drive all the way to your park friday evening and have to check out by 10 am sunday morning seems like alot especially for the rate that we paid. When the lady told me that we can have late check out until 6 pm I said yes and she charged me for that. To me that would make coming to your park worth the trip. When we checked in at around 730 friday evening. We were not even at the park for a half an hour and we get a departure notice via email. As I understand this is probably an automated thing I find it to be very unwelcoming. As a quest I would like to feel welcomed when I arrive not reminded as soon as I get there about my depature. The other problem with that my departure letter told me we had to be out by 10 am. Which I was told and I did pay for late check out at 6pm and as I said was a deciding factor of us driving all the way to your park. I called your office after receiving this email and spoke with a lady she said that you never have check out that late and I should have never been told that. She said she would need to speak with someone and call me back. Saturday around 10am when I didnt hear back from her I called again and asked to speak with a manager. I was told there was no manager to speak with. I explained to him the issue with late check out and how I felt getting a departure letter before I was even settled into my first half hour there was extremely unwelcoming. I also did explain that the cabin we stayed in site 118 was extremely dirty. I spent a portion of my first night there cleaning hair off the toilet bowl sink and shower. I had to wipe the counters down in the kitchen as they were also dirty. Also when i opened the blinds by the kitchen table the one set of blinds fell on the table because there were no clips holding it in. When it fell dirt fell all over the table. Also most of the blinds in the cabin were broken. This was pretty gross, the amount of dust and dirt and hair from previous people really made me sick to have to clean. And truthfully it was not an inexpensive short weekend I would think that we would at least be given a clean cabin to stay in. Well as we checked out today we never heard back from anyone. All of this does not sit well with my family and I. I can honestly say this was not a very good experience for us. I am sadly disappointed that we did not have the experience we have had in the past at your park. This is a copy of the letter that I sent to Strawberry park the day we left. It is now 3 days later and I have still heard from no one. Just a courtesy call would have been appreciated. Its a shame they dont care about their guests. read more

My husband and I have been renting a cabin from a private owner since May. Overall it has been a good experience. The two festivals they have in June were great, they have a lot of activities, especially for kids, and they have a separate pool for adults that was kept clean. The kids that work here for the summer are a real plus to this park; they are always pleasant and helpful. There are a few minor things I didn't like; a lot of litter that isn't cleaned up around the amphitheater where kids go to "hang out", poor control of campers that don't follow any type of quiet time at night and the two pools where the kids swim aren't the cleanest. These things are an inconvenience, but after being here for four months, I still feel we made a good decision to stay here for the summer. If you have kids, they will have a blast here, if you're looking for a quiet retreat you may want to look elsewhere. read more

We stayed a few weeks back at Strawberry Park in a resort owned trailer. This was our 5th year attending the annual Bluegrass Festival and the first time we decided to pay the extra for the convenience of a trailer. The unit was old and outdated, and filled with flies when we entered. The hot water didn't work and mattresses were 10 years past their useful life. No calls to the office to report the issues were answered and no one came to fix the problem. Upon returning home, I wrote a detailed letter to the manager about our experience, and no response. I finally got someone's attention when I forwarded the letter to the sender of a generic "tell us about your stay" email, and then he never responded to any emails following his initial contact. I called Elite Resorts and got the contact info for the owner, and forwarded him my letter, and still no response. The ridiculousness of having NO ONE in the company respond to a customer issue is just mind blowing, and I really can't believe how fast this once awesome place has gone downhill. read more

I have been camping/attending the Zydeco weekend in June for the past 8 years and we will not be returning next year which is very sad. It seems that corporate greed has really changed this weekend for the worse. The food at the snack bar was horrible and even unrecognizable as well as over priced. I waited 30 minutes for chicken tenders with only 2 people waiting and 2 in line ahead of me. The Cajun food that they attempted to make was terrible. Unfortunately, the Chili Brothers vendor and many other vendors were booted out and this is indicative of corp. greed as they want to keep all the $ for themselves but they are losing many loyal customers in the process. This was evident with all the empty spots around us that have been occupied in years past. Sad but true. We will be looking to camp elsewhere next year. Disney World prices at the snack bar, no thanks. Even the rain every zydeco weekend for the past 8 years has not kept us away but bad food definitely will . read more

This was our second year renting a cabin and I'm sorry to say we will not be going back. We arrived 20 minutes early and was told we couldnt enter until 4pm...wtf...20 minutes...so with a truck load of stuff and kids wanting out of car we had to drive around...another wtf moment...i do have to say there is plenty of activity for the kids ,but not much for the adults. They do have a adults only pool and hot tub ,but closes at 10pm ...why? Cabins are decent but not very clean and mouse droppings all over the place... I get it your in the woods but, so keep your food in coolers cause they got into the cabinets and chewed on some food.. and the beds are absolutely horrible only about 2 inches thick ... omg we couldn't wait till we got home to sleep in our own bed.... Even though there alot of down falls..hey it's camping..The price of 1500 for a week is steep for what is offered... Now onto the employees.....a few of them are nice and helpful ,but from the older to the youngest are just plan miserable. Very comparable to going to the DMV...Ask one for information and they just stare at you and say I don't know. Just not worth the money or worthy of a family vacation... Just being honest and looking into another place for next year read more

went back for a weekend last year in a different unit that was nicer but still had some maintenance issues . but had a great time great bands on the weekend.. went back for a full week this year new owners same issue broken toilet handle still not fixed girl at gate was rude when we showed up before 4pm check in . front desk was same way no check in till 4pm . we went to camper anyways and found it open so we got changed to go swimming . cleaning girls showed up and were very nice and said as soon as the were done we could move in. I pointed out that the bedroom pocket door was broken and would not close they thanked me for pointing it out but no one ever came to fix it. also had trouble with air conditioner that got fixed. activities have gone down hill two days in a row same young girl showed up at adult pool for a activity but never announced what it was or tried to get anyone involved just stood there for twenty minutes then left. it also seems this has become more of a owners orientated campground they installed a tiki bar for owners were they can buy beer from a keg that is padlocked so only they can buy it . they added music which was nice but one day it wasn't on when I asked a counselor if we could get it turned on she said stereo was in tiki hut and locked only the owners have keys. so you get music when a owner. wants to play music ??? . and no music at all both weekends . the food court has also gone down hill they no longer offer daily specials and were constantly out of food items. camp ground is now run from Florida too my sister came in a pop up so when they called to book they got a person with no knowledge of the sites, looking for a real resort camp ground try apple island in VT beautiful clean rental units that are fully equipped from lines to cookware . you need to bring everything to strawberry park. read more

This is a horrible place to stay. My husband and I were looking for a relaxing vacation and this was not it. We rented a trailer from Tuesday to Sunday. The first trailer had mice droppings, mouse traps, and dead mice. When we heard the mice trap go off at midnight our first night we knew we could not stay there. I am pregnant and was so u comfartable staying in a place with mice. We were moved to another trailer. After spending 2 hrs unpacking my husband had to pack everything up at midnight to move. In the morning we went to office to speak with Carl and Gary we were told that we couldn't stay in the camper we were in till Sunday because people were coming in. I said then I wanted money ncl because I didn't want to cut my vacation short. They assured me they made arrangements for the family coming in and we were all set to stay until Sunday. I was dumb to believe that. Saturday around 1030 after we had settled by the pool for the day we were approached by Carl and told we had to move yet again because they couldn't change the people's site coming in. This poor managed campground has no idea what they are doing. Just to give you an idea we moved our belongings a total of 6 times. This was the most stressful vacation I have ever been on. Then to make things worse we went back to pool sat to only witness a brawl at the pool. Men and women were fighting and punching people were getting thrown in the pool. One man was getting his face pounded into the cement. It was horrible to see parents screaming for their children and running in different directions to get their children to safety. This left me so uneasy and u comfartable the rest of the day. They allow their owners to sell alcohol by the pool I'm guessing with no alcohol permit and allow people to get wasted put of their minds with no supervision. I am not sure how they can call themselves a family campground when they put many lives in jeopardy. This was the worst vacation I have ever been on. I was hoping to bring my child here and make this vacation spot a family tradition every year, but I would never bring my family hear. It is a horrible place and the management have no control over anyone or anything going on. Please take my advice and find another campground. Stay away. read more

Horrible experience! First of all when I initially booked my 4 day stay for tent camping I was very specific on what kind of site I was looking for. When my family arrived for our vacation the site that was given to us was all large pieces of gravel and stone. No place to pitch a tent! Had to find office that was packed with people and i was proceeded to be told that the staff that books the reservation has no idea what each and every site looks like. Are you kidding me??? The switched my site to a better one but now I am more than a block away from the bathrooms. Which is a problem if you have a little one who goes to the bathroom often. 2 out of the 4 days the splash pad was shut down along with the jumping pad. So you know what that means??? EVERYONE IN THE POOL and not dispersed throught the facility. No room to even swim. The only thing my son was excited about the park was the arcade....and you guessed it the power went out for hours along with the A/C not working in the arcade so it was over 110* in there. Dont expect wifi either. They are advertising that every site has it but wifi didnt work the whole time we were there and one of the staff said it has been out for weeks. Easily one of the worst camping experiences I've ever had. My friend had showed up late Sunday afternoon had not really discovered. The campground was walking around down a pathway, which had no signs indicating that you could not walk down the path then in the morning security held them at the gate while waiting for someone to pull up in a truck The Man and said truck then jumped out, punched my friend in the face, and the security proceeded to watch happen, and didn't do anything Definitely will never go back again heads up for anyone out there or planning to go there. read more

I've been a faithful camper for over 15 years and this year, I noticed the patk has an infestation of FLIES. Your unable to eat, sit, walk, shop at the store or use the bathroom without being swarmed and attacked by these flies that are everywhere including as I write this review.
