We stopped by the world famous Playa Mar Chiquita today…read more Much to our delight, a nice, little lady (I'll call her the dessert lady) named Wanda, stopped by selling homemade flans, tres leches cakes and coquito. The flavors of flan were: Baileys Coconut Pumpkin vanilla cream cream cheese tequila rose We bought a bottle of Coquito and the Bailey's and the coconut flans. All three were delicious! Of the flans, I think my favorite was the coconut because it actually had coconut pieces in it. They were both really good though. If we had more people with us, I would like to have tried more especially the tequila rose. I'm not from Puerto Rico so for those of you who, like me, have never tried Coquito. I'll do my best to explain it. Apparently, it's a coconut-based alcoholic beverage that originated in Puerto Rico. It is a holiday drink that is akin to eggnog with similar eggnog flavoring. Although it does not contain any eggs, the consistency is very similar to the thickness of eggnog. It too, was very good. If you happen to be there, just wait for a while. She'll show up in the afternoon sometime. She was very nice. I hope you get a chance to try her desserts because I think you'll really like all the things she has for sale. At least I did anyway.

The rich coconut and cinnamon with the light boba, I could easily drink this every day. And yes, it tastes just like coquito. The shop is adorable with cute merch available as well. Along with the boba, they had cute mango shaped icecreams that were easy to hold for little ones. Their Korean corn dogs were dangerously delicious, despite its massive size and me getting full from the boba, I kept going back to it. The service was friendly and quick! They have staff who can speak both English and Spanish, which is helpful to the tourist. If you want to see what Puerto Rican boba is like, ven aqui!

Also, the line moves pretty quickly. At $7.19 for the regular (two flavors), it's not cheap (PR McDonald's vanilla ice cream cone is $0.99 for comparison!), but it's definitely worth doing (at least) once. The flavors are all extremely unique and it's a mystery what may be in a specific flavor (e.g. Pavlova and mixed berries), but you can try to your heart's content for free. In the end, I doubt there is a "bad" flavor. My favorites were cookieman (like Oreo cookies in a vanilla base) and chocolate cookie. Pistachio was good, but a taster would have sufficed. Sadly, they did not have a mint and chip!

The order process is a little difficult w use they have so many flavors spread out over about 15 feet of displays. Hard to pick what you want without running back and forth to see if you would miss anything! The seating areas were nice and had lots of seating. Disappointed to see that the bathroom was out of order and just had an envelope with a handwritten message on it. Really took away from the experience. But would enjoy again!
