Quesito con guayaba
Michelle G.

This is a little stand in a plaza that was plenty busy when I went. They have coffees and drinks, but the flavors seemed to be made with syrups so I opted to focus on breakfast. Service was great and I ordered one empanada and 2 quesitos. One quesito was with guayaba (guava) and one was plain, so just the sweet cheese. The empanada wasn't very remarkable and I would probably skip next time, but I enjoyed both quesitos. Quesitos are so delicious and a perfect pastry breakfast.

Try these Mallorcas first when you visit Puerto Rico- simply for the price. Once you try authentic ones, say from the famous Cafe Mallorca, you won't return to this spot despite its awesome location. There is a tranquil outdoor eatery but no outside food... is allowed in the outside eatery. They will wag their finger in your face and make you walk 3 feet to sit at the fountain. Basically, Don't buy french fries from across the street and expect to come order coffee and pastries here- they simply won't allow it.

Cute little kiosk on the square. Nice to stop here on a sunny morning or for a espresso walking break. Cash only. Stopped here for a mid morning break. The espresso is fresh and delicious. I got a shot for $1.40 and it was a nice little pick me up. The pastries are fine but they are frozen fyi (I asked). Brought one to take back and it was mediocre and expensive ($4) for just cheese bread. The line can get busy and there is usually only one worker but they hustle. Super sweet and helpful. Be prepared to not rush. But with a view/patio like that there is no need to rush anyway :)

Coffee is bold and strong. Very good and the pastries were delicate and delicious. I had the guava pastry and the chicken empanada. Both were light and wonderful

Caramel coffee

The pastries we got were very good. I found a BEE in my drink though... The only reason we found it was because my dad was using some of my ice for his scolding hot coffee. The lady was nice ish but she was the only one there working so she could only go so fast. It was a very nice place to sit around all the plants and pigeons.

The best coffee of our trip, hands down! What a great find, I could not recommend this place enough. Skip every other breakfast place and come here to enjoy pastries, delicious coffee, and a outdoor patio right on a square in old San Juan. Through in cheap prices and it'll make your day! The Mallorca was delicious and a must have, we also had a guava filled pastry which actually is a skip, there was so little guava filling, I was hoping it would be a bold delicious flavor but it really wasn't. Usually is everything is not perfect I would give it a four star, but the rest was so delicious I can't justify anything lower than five!

Definitely stop by here if you find yourself in San Juan. This is a small cash-only kiosk that sells tea, coffee, pastries, and various other delights. There is an outdoor sitting area that doesn't provide much protection from the elements but is very well decorated with string lights and plants. Plaza de Armas is beautiful during the day and makes for a great place to enjoy your coffee while reading a book. The service is friendly and inviting, I enjoyed two coffees and three pastries during my stay here. You can taste the freshness of the beans they use in their coffee, which is to be expected in Puerto Rico. Their pastries are wonderful and very well-made. It makes for an excellent place to study as well, and they even offer their own WiFi!

We were in Old San Juan for a week and had coffee here almost every morning. They are located in the plaza in town center and have a beautiful covered outdoor seating area surrounded by plants. The coffee and danishes were perfect

Cute stand with decent mallorcas and coffee. A convenient local spot for a snack and a pick-me-up.

Tiniest cafe latte I've ever had! Pretty solid though! Picked up a pastry for my boyfriend and he was pretty satisfied with that too.

Looked into the top coffee spots of Puerto Rico, this stood out. It doesn't get better than…read morefarm-to-cup type of coffee. AMBIANCE Parking: Old San Juan rules--come early or be ready to walk. Seating: Multiple seating areas for individuals and small groups but it's also a cafe too so there is seating in the back too. Vibes: Clean, modern café with a mix of locals and tourists. You can tell people come here for the coffee, not just to pass through. It leans more intentional and coffee-focused rather than just aesthetic--which I appreciated. FOOD / DRINKS Coquito Frap (Recommend) When in Puerto Rico, Coquito. Creamy, coconut-forward, and lightly spiced--like a frozen coquito with a coffee twist. Sweet, smooth, and definitely more of a dessert drink than a regular latte. CUSTOMER SERVICE Friendly and efficient. Even with a crowd, things moved quickly. TL;DR OVERALL 4.5 Stars. Solid spot. Great drink options at a reasonable price. They know what they're doing. Whether you're a coffee person or just need a reset, this place delivers. Salute to the Munoz family for sharing their coffee to the world! TIPS * Try their house coffee if you want the full experience--that's what they're known for.

We loved it so much we actually went twice during our trip - and even made a final stop before heading to the airport to go home. On our first visit, Hector (the roaster) happened to be there, which made the experience feel even more special. The staff overall were all so kind and attentive. The coffee is absolutely excellent - velvety smooth, rich, and delicious. I could easily drink more than one cup. I had a latte, and my husband had a macchiato, and both were great. They have a cute little outdoor atrium seating area, but we preferred indoors where all the comfy pillow seating was. Just a note - they don't offer decaf - but for regular coffee drinkers, it's a must-visit. Such a gem in Old San Juan!

I started with a hot latte. It was delicious. Creamy milk and nice coffee flavor. For breakfast, I chose the traditional French toast which came with fruit and a huge dollop of whipped cream and maple syrup on the side. I scooted the whipped cream to the side but enjoyed the cinnamon flavored egg bread with fresh fruit. We asked our server about interesting places to visit while we walked around San Juan. She was fabulous. Really went over and above to give us walking ideas, get our food to us, and make our visit feel so welcoming. We loved this place.

We couldn't choose amongst all the empty tables, because staff were rude and dismissive. AC wasn't working, so we felt the humidity and heat. Ceiling fans weren't cutting it. We got the $25 wagyu burger and $20 Mallorca chicken sandwich, both of which were dry, bland, and underwhelming at best. The burger patty lacked flavor and there was no sauce or any accompaniments besides a very sad, wilted, thin slice of tomato and lettuce leaf. Pretty bad burger! The chicken sandwich was so heavily fried, we almost broke our teeth against the chicken. Insanely salty--we couldn't take more than a few bites. Felt so parched for the rest of the day. Fries were the best part of the meal--so salty and thin.
