The room has dimmed light and the heated bed was very relaxing. The whole process was very calming and I felt that the esthetician was very genuine. She does not attempt to scare you ("If you don't do X, your skin will look bad in 10 years...) to increase her/store sales, and she provided me a lot of tips about how to stay hydrated. It was soothing even when getting at deep problem spots. While speaking to her, she also said that she loves her job and loves working specifically at Renaissance. My skin today looks incredible already and this specific service I can see myself getting regularly. My manicure and pedicure were done by Sandra. She was an incredibly sweet woman who takes joy in her work and loved seeing a beautiful finished product and a delighted customer. She did wonderful work and I don't think I've ever had a more lovely experience getting my nails done. Once again, she also said how much she loves her work and loves getting to work at Renaissance. By the time I left, I felt like a princess. I have never met so many people who genuinely have the heart of servants and love their job and place of work so much, and I have never felt so relaxed and beautiful. I felt that I made genuine connections and have found a place that I will happily return to the next time I need to feel pretty and relaxed again. The only real complaint I have is the ceiling breaks the illusion of an underground grotto, as it is a business building tile, but if you don't look up, the illusion persists. I have been here before and it was good and everyone was so sweet except Stuart. My stylist thinned out my hair with thinning sheers but didn't use regular sheers to blend or create real layers, and used an electric razor and it made my hair blunt and the hair curl inwards instead of layers. I wasn't even going to leave a review because I felt bad for even asking for a refund but Stuart was rude when I was asking if I could get the full amount back and I even apologized and I said it was ok if I couldn't and he said "that was time you took up on her schedule" in a rude tone and I felt patronized so I explained that they messed up my hair and he said "it was messed up before you came in" and hung up on me. I felt so bad asking for a refund instead of letting them fix it in the first place because I didn't want to risk a worse haircut, but after that response I feel like I made the right call and don't want others to make the same mistake. I was so shocked and hurt. I felt so bad for not liking it but I couldn't believe how he made it sound like I inconvenienced my stylist when I have to live with this hair and I cried for over an hour because i felt so ugly. She also clipped me with an electric razor and I included pictures. I won't name the stylist because she probably just isn't used to my hair type but I am name dropping Stuart because he was so mean when I was feeling down.
