Loved the crunchy, nutty pumpkin bites with a tangy sauce. Also the beef ribs. Amazing. Do not miss this place if you are close by... and yes, it is a good idea to book PS There's room for the kids to play on the side lawn.

And the setting is cosy and welcoming. What more could you want? We came with our puppy on a sunny September afternoon so sat outside, which was easily accommodated by the waiter. I had the steak, mushroom and red wine pot pie with buttered vegetables and rustic mash. Whilst the husband had the local Bridge Road brewery's beer battered fish and chips and salad. So yummy! We then shared a locally grown apple & berry crumble with vanilla ice cream for dessert. It was divine!! Our waiter was so friendly and after chatting about our little furry friend a couple of times, came back bearing a doggy biscuit treat for the spoilt munchkin. How lovely. We will definitely be back! It's so worth the drive from nearby Bright or Wangaratta for a quaint but delicious country pub lunch. Keep up the amazing work guys!!

Went here in a Monday night for an easy meal after work. There was a few people in the bistro as it…read morewas Monday night special (buy one main meal and get and equal or lesser value meal for free). The staff were friendly and helpful. The prices of the meal I think were inflated for the special. We had steak for one main and seafood and salad for the other. Don't mind paying $33 for steak and it was scotch fillet steak so not bad, $30 for some fish and battered seafood was just a bit steep I thought. But second meal was free so worth it. You had to pay extra for the gravy for the steak which is normally include in most places. The kids had the old faithful nuggets and chip as there not the most adventurous eaters but a safe bet they will get eaten. The meal wasn't bad the steak cooked as required and a decent serve of chips and salad to fill you up. It's definitely not worth raving about but a decent pub meal. They do have specials on most nights of the week that may take your fancy like a cheap parmy night or $12 of steak night. I would return here again as it was not bad wouldn't mind trying the parmy. It's a fairly simple but old favorite of many.

Very quick service, like amazingly quick service. We ordered and two minutes later the kids meals were on the table. A real gem of a local, pity we live in Perth!

I'll have to say that the service wasn't that great, particularly since they didn't mention that…read morethere was more to the taxi number than was actually written on the wall (and they didn't offer to ring one either, despite lots of other pubs I've been to actually offering to do that). The other thing is that the beer selection honestly wasn't all that fantastic, though I suspect that that might have more to do with it being a country pub, with a country style, than anything else. Still, it was okay, just not particularly great.

Absolutely delighted by this place! Went on Tuesday for the $10 steak night. Had a delicious rump…read moresteak with Tasty steamed veggies. Had a choice of chips, potato bake with either salad or veggies and about 5 sauces to choose from (but I was endeavouring to be healthy so I gallantly declined those options). It was really nicely cooked, a little but more cooked than I usually enjoy in a rare steak, but for $10 I was pretty impressed. My mates absolutely loved the Diane and mushroom sauces and said the chips were crunchy and delicious. We then found ourselves involved in a hysterical trivia night, where we all lost something shocking but had great fun trying (don't ever ask us where any mountain ranges are located!). We subsequently moved onto desert and indulged in a tantalising variety of cakes. They each came in massive wedges of deliciousness with pots of both whipped cream and ice-cream on the side. The only negative I can think of is that it's quite chilly inside in winter as it is in an old wool shed (hence the name). The venue itself has a great atmosphere and is all decked out in vintage farming relics with dainty fairy lights twinkling from the wooden beams across the ceiling. All in all we were quite delighted and entranced by a place that, let's be honest, we only visited for the $10 steaks.
