I like the fact that this building houses both the City of Edmonton Archives (on the second floor) and also includes a lot of beautiful rental space. It's pretty awesome how versatile this space can be for hosting events. And being greeted when I arrived by the door with people willing to provide directions to the event I was seeking was pretty awesome. I am quite happy that that happened and the area outside the event space was beautiful and well lit while we awaited the event. I liked seeing some of the more historic building touches as we awaited the event (for example the portrait of Queen Elizabeth II). The historic facility is beautifully well maintained and has some great facility touches. I would definitely recommend the space for special event rentals.

There are museums in the building, that all of our guests could enjoy. The price was also very reasonable, and we were able to bring our own food in. Sometimes I find with some City of Edmonton facilities you have to use a recommended caterer, but we were able to choose our own. I deduct one star because a few of our guests who arrived late were in a bit of a pickle trying to find parking, but there is a lot of parking, and it is free. Highly recommend using this space for business meetings.

I liked that there was seating for those that wanted to sit and standing tables as well for those that were mingling around the room. The lighting was well suited to the room and I found the temperature just right. I find that for events like this, it's important to have a comfortable room where people don't feel too warm or cold. The bar was situated in the middle of the room and I found that the setup was just well thought out for traffic flow. Speaking of traffic flow, I like that there was ample parking for attendees.

There were cocktails in the front area when we arrived where people could mingle and check out the huge fish tank! Once we proceeded in for dinner we found all of the tables beautifully set. The food was amazing, and the room was prefect for the awards presentation. Everything was well decorated, well lit and the stage was set up perfectly. It's also one of the few venues in Edmonton that can hold 350 people! I was extremely impressed with the Oasis Center as a venue and would definitely consider holding events here in the future!

I haven't organized these events but family and friends have (weddings). It's a beautiful location with photogenic scenery enclosing the manicured lawns and lodge. Perfect for wedding pictures. We've celebrated other events related to soccer tournaments. I love the cabin structure itself. It's charming, and having the dining hall seperated at an angle from the dance area works in terms of noise for our elders who wanted to sit and chat.

Food was great, staff was friendly and timely - the building itself looked great. For the type of feel of this venue (rustic, country, etc) it is one of the more affordable options in the city. Also was nice to have everything in one spot, reduces some of the coordinating especially if you're doing it yourself. Some of the rental prices are a bit higher than perhaps a rental company or buying off of kijiji but for ourselves was worth it to avoid having to coordinate rentals and drop off, pick up, set up etc. costs and policies were clearly outlined in the information package provided to us originally. Only thing was that we were not able to get the space the day before our wedding to decorate so we had to do that day of - but that is the nature of getting married in the summer! The venue was booked the night before for another wedding so there was no way around that. Overall we really enjoyed our experience!

There's a parking lot across the street if the stalls by the door are occupied. When you walk in the front door and walk straight towards the hall doors to find an open room. There's a wall to separate the space from the other side where the pool table and small tables were. It wasn't busy with just a handful of people on that side. The food was set up on the left on tables and then rows of tables in front of us with chairs. It may take some maneuvering if you are seated in a middle table to get out but it wasn't too crowded. People started lining up to get food. There was beef, chicken with mango salsa (I think it was but I didn't have any as the chicken looked very pale and plain), perogies, pasta and Caesar salads, vegetables, and buns. I can't even recall if that was all the food as the food wasn't very memorable. My slice of beef was chewy so I didn't eat it. I'm glad I got enough perogies and salad to fill me up as they started to clean up the food before the people around me were done eating. I wish they would have left it out a bit longer in case people wanted more food but they could have been instructed to clean up right away to bring out the dessert. For dessert, there was a lemon cake trifle with blueberries and a mocha cake. They served it to us and we got to try both. My trifle was only cream and blueberries as it was one of the first serving so they didn't get down to the cake. But I went for seconds so I could have some cake. The mocha cake wasn't my type of flavour but coffee drinkers may like it. The service was good to clean up our dirty plates and we helped ourselves at the bar to cup and poured water from jugs. It was an ok visit but not my first choice to attend an event here.

The deck was nice as was the space for lawn games and other activities. It looked like the built in facilities were really helpful for our caterers and the other folks serving our group! It really was a nice venue if perhaps a bit far from most of Edmonton. Then again the seclusion could be an appealing factor! There was ample parking and the dirt road to get there was not very long at all.

As a former events manager, I have never felt so undermined or disrespected by the on-site manager of this facility. First, he refused to give us a key to the building -- After paying $600 for the venue and then having many of the "perks" revoked with the loss of their in-house catering company, they could have at least given us a key to use. The site manager continually entered the hall during the reception and pestered the groom with questions about when our linens and other rental equipment would be removed. As the rentals were not made through the hall, he had no right to ask such questions, and I told him as much when he questioned my willingness/ability to bring the items to the vendor the next day. After he was asked to address all of his questions and concerns to me, he began to search out other members of the bridal party. He even went so far as to turn the hall lights on and off after we had dimmed them to a safe, yet mood-inspiring level. The final nail in the OTS coffin was finding out later that friends of the manager (members of OTS, perhaps?) were drinking and carrying on INSIDE THE HALL during our rental period, the afternoon of the wedding. If you want a stress-free wedding, do not book this space. Yes, it is a great venue space and has a beautiful attached park, but dealing with this man is not worth it. To quote the bride: "the day was perfect, with that one exception."

My…read moreKiwanis club rents the upstairs lounge once a year to host the Buy Nothing Day Free Market in November for example. A pottery group rents the hall upstairs for their events. Helen is the wonderful woman who takes care of the building and she is wonderful. If she's unavailable or has to step out she'll leave contact information for someone more local to the hall in case you need anything. Helen is good at making sure that snow is cleared from walkways etc. as best as can be as quickly as possible given a major snowstorm. The hall is a little bit difficult to access if you're unfamiliar with it, but it has ample free parking, is close to transit and major roadways and is within walking distance of many facilities in the Old Strathcona area. I'm really fond of some of the more recent upgrades to the upstairs lounge: the improved lighting makes it much more of a wonderful area to host events, for example.

I was here attending/helping at an under 40 mixer event in the big room upstairs. It's got wooden floors and mirrors across one wall, so I think it must be used for exercise classes and things of that nature, too. I'm sure there's much more to explore in this big ol' building since it's HUGE. Gotta give props to its sweet location, plenty of parking, and the playground nearby. The perfect family-friendly place for this neighbourhood.

To me Whyte Ave wouldn't be the same without the Faculty. My friends had the place (both rooms) for a party twice now and both times were STELLAR. The owners were a joy to deal with - extremely accommodating, helpful and always focused on making us happy. We had access to the location hours ahead - to transform the space to our own liking - and they even let us use some of their own decor and lights!!! Not to mention that we only had to remove what we brought in, the sweep & mop is included in rent!!! I will definitely keep returning to the Faculty and will keep recommending it to everybody I know - be it for a birthday shenanigans, hokey game watch party or a large turkey dinner. 10 out of 10.

When we booked the Inglewood Community League for our wedding reception do-over (after being…read morecovid-cancelled in 2020), we honestly picked it because it was in a convenient location, the right size and affordable. However, after our experience I can say that I highly recommend it as an event venue. The hall itself isn't fancy by any means but it is a great blank slate to add your personal touches. Once we had the linens and decor set up, it completely transformed the room. It also has a spacious bar/kitchen area which is perfect if your caterers need a place to heat things up. There is also a movable stage and enough round tables to seat more than 100 guests. The hall manager was amazing to work with. She was great at communicating everything we needed to know and made sure the stage and tables were set up for us the day of. I can't recommend this venue enough if you're on a budget and just need a nice space to host your event.
