The teacher very clearly favors one student over another. On the flip side, if the teacher does not like a student, the teacher also will not hesitate to made that very clear to everybody including the kids, in many areas, without considering how terrible for the poor kids to bear. For example, the class you will be assigned to at the beginning of each academic year, is determined how much you are favored. Good students are often assigned to good class, bad students are assigned to bad class. We believe our son is not Ms Quinn's favorite, or Ms Quinn has certain bias against us, so we quickly ran away. The staff claimed there were behavioral issues and pushed for unnecessary testing that was never properly handled. Communication was poor--once I was told at 6am that my child couldn't attend school due to short staffing, even though there were only five kids in the class. The worst part was the lack of action around discrimination. After a classmate made a racially insensitive comment to my child, the school failed to address it appropriately. I once took a cake to my son's school and shared the cake with his classmates. When I left, 3 or 4 students came to me and said thank you. 5) Strict discipline. My son was kicked out of school for 1 day because another kid misled him. He had to write an apology letter per the teacher's request. I am pleased with this because I want a school to be strict on discipline. If you are being late or bully other kids or misbehave, and no consequence is given, this is not good for the child. Whenever we had concerns, they were always willing to listen, work with us, and support our child in becoming more confident and comfortable in social settings. Another thing we really appreciate is the schedule. The school has relatively few closure days compared to many other programs, which is very helpful for working parents. If you need extended care until 6:00 PM, there are also many enrichment activities available, giving children plenty of opportunities to explore new interests.
