If you need extended care until 6:00 PM, there are also many enrichment activities available, giving children plenty of opportunities to explore new interests. I could see her development starting the 2nd week of enrollment. Her curious nature was able to get the nourishment it needed through play and directions. She quickly made friends with the kids there and learned to share and play together. The staff is amazing. A special shout out to Ms Meenal the director for making it easy for us and the transition from beginning to eventually full time enrollment. It was so seamless because she pays attention to the kids and will let you know what to do when the time is right for your child. The other shout out I have to give is Ms Wannie for being such a great teacher for Olive. Olive comes home every day and mentions her and what Ms Wannie taught her today. I want to share a funny story to show how grown up she is already. At 2.5 years old she told her mom she was thirsty and to get her some water. Her mom said to her "you're a big girl you can get up and get your own water". Her response was "mama a big girl too, get Olive water". She made her mom carry her from the bed to the kitchen to get her water hahaha.

She made a special point to tell us to bring our child on the tour as we could see how they interacted with the space and how they felt around the other students/staff as we were touring while school was in session. All of the staff is very supportive and we get regular updates throughout the day via message and more info at pick up on how the day went. It is also very easy to communicate through their app regarding pick up changes, general questions, etc. In the Bumblebee class (ages 2-3), you could not ask for better teachers than Ms. Yolanda and Ms. Sarah. They've taken such great care of our baby. Hands On Learning was our first school/daycare experience. Prior to this, our baby was regularly with me as I work from home. While already very extrovert and talkative, we really wanted them to gain more social experience. Most of the children in our lives are all older, so they're not used to parallel play with others their age. They're also used to 1:1 attention from an adult, so we wanted to expose them to a larger group setting sooner than later to improve on any growing social or separation anxiety. Ms. Yolanda in particular has been working tirelessly 1:1 with our baby and really partnering with us to make the transition from no school to half day to now full time (!) 5x a week to be as seamless and pain-free as possible. She's been great about learning what we already do at home and providing additional recommendations for us to try that will help with adjusting to full time school. While we're still navigating BIG emotions at drop off, Ms. Yolanda is always ready with a hug and a smile for our baby. There's still some days of all tears, but those days are getting less and less. I keep hearing that our baby is making lots of improvement from both Ms. Yolanda and Ms. Sarah. The evidence is all over our baby's laughing, smiling face as we talk on the drive home and lasts all the way until bedtime. I can't thank everyone here enough for helping our baby thrive. Our boy has blossomed so much under their care. Before Hands on Learning Center, our son was enrolled in Speech Therapy but within a month of attending this school, he had an incredible speech explosion and no longer required therapy. He loves all the teachers (Ms. Jessica, Ms. Denise, Ms. Mistry, Ms. Lad, and Ms, Elis) and classmates so much and speaks so fondly of everyone at home. We love this school so much and our only regret is that Hands on Learning Center is not a full on K-8 institution.

The teachers lead from strong principles, handle situations thoughtfully, and create such a positive learning environment. There are always engaging activities happening that keep the kids curious and excited. They also keep me well updated. I get photos daily, updates when she eat and what she eats, things I was never expecting. Another big highlight is the outdoor playground -- it's massive, safe, and gives the kids plenty of room to run, explore, and just be kids. They have special events and activities that add tremendous value to the program. Things range from puppet shows to animal appearances and so much more. It's worth the spend. Personally, I would only leave a negative review if I had a genuinely bad experience, such as staff not doing their job, children being unsafe, not being cared for properly, or not being treated with love and respect. But that has not been my experience here at all. As parents, we all have different expectations and values when it comes to raising our children, and we naturally want environments that align with them. For me, this place has done a beautiful job with my son. He is in an environment full of play, learning, love, and strong values. I don't want my child to be in a competitive or stressful setting at such a young age. In fact, I've been pleasantly surprised by skills he developed here that I hadn't explored much at home, like using scissors confidently. Discoveryland Milpitas is a Christian Daycare, but you don't have to be a Christian to attend here…read more It's not a fancy or academic rigorous daycare like Stratford and Montessori, but that's ok because these kids are just toddlers to about 5 yrs old. Once they are in grade school, they can enroll in the Foothill Adventist Elementary next door on the same campus. I pulled my 3 year old fr his home based daycare and transitioned him here so I can claim childcare on my taxes, give him more structure, socialization with his peers and I can see the difference. Instead of him glued stuck on the babysitter's TV or iPad, he has outdoor play, arts and crafts, gradual learning words and numbers. Most importantly, they learn manners and are geared towards what's appropriate and not. In the summertime, they are laxed and allow the children to enjoy the outdoor more. They also have fun activities planned with game day, waterworks's, rent jump houses, etc. Childcare hrs 7:30-6pm, max hrs/day a child can be there is 9.5 hrs. They provide breakfast, snacks and lunch which is all vegetarian. They prep their nutritious food onsite. Only downfall is they use disposables plates, etc which is not environmentally friendly. Office staff is friendly and always greeting with nice salutations. My son got scared of his teacher for a while, but that was because he was misbehaving. Other than that, it's a pretty nurturing environment. Compared to other childcare center, it's more affordable and food is provided. They also have some financial aid for those who qualify.

The school uses an app that allows for easy communication with the teachers, and we are kept up to date on lunch menu, curriculum, and photos. The school is comprehensive in their social activities such as annual winter performance, holiday celebrations, parent teacher conferences, family events, etc. The kids also have regular music and kung fu classes. The school is bilingual English/Mandarin, with a daily Mandarin language learning component, so it is helpful to have some exposure to the language and culture so the kids can understand better, and the lunches are sometimes Chinese meals. Currently he's in the red room and his teachers are Ms Zhila and Ms Ma. He's learned so much in a short time, he's doing addition, teaching me about matter, and planting vegetables. His teachers are so kind, dedicated, and caring. One of the biggest perks is that the provide lunch and snacks. My son always finishes his lunch and we're told he asks for seconds. We receive the monthly lessons and weekly photos. There are also activities happening every month, in addition to music class and kung fu. The students are majority Chinese and there are daily Chinese lessons.
