This school is terrible I do not recommend going here. The management is terrible and the staff do not do anything about it.

My younger one has flourished in the past…read moretwo years here and we are incredible grateful for the nurturing environment, especially thankful to his current pre-k teachers Ms. Swati. She has helped my son mastered alphabets, phonics and foundational math skills. Beyond academics, she has also been doing a great job developing his social emotional skills. My son used to be very shy and now with her patience and understanding, he has built strong confidence when interacting with others. In addition, she is also top notch in communicating with us about the development of our son so that we know how to collaborate better with her at home and at school. We feel very fortunate to have Ms Swati as our son's teacher. Highly recommend for anyone who is looking to prepare their kids well for stepping into K. The rest of the school staffs are also wonderful. Ms. Liz, the school Director warmly greets the kids and parents every morning. She is always willing to listen and truly understands the students need. We are very grateful of her and all the school staffs to make QL a wonderful place for our kids to grow and learn.

The "whole child" approach here isn't just a slogan. Beyond the impressive academics, the school places a strong emphasis on character development and kindness. My daughter has gained so much confidence in her abilities, and my son has made wonderful friends and developed a real curiosity for learning. The faculty is approachable and communicative, making us feel like true partners in our children's education. Having siblings at the same school can sometimes be tricky if the school only suits one personality type, but QLS has been fantastic for both of them. We are very proud to be a QLS family!

My son has really found his stride at Futures. He has excelled at subjects he always liked and caught up on the subjects that he struggled with by utilizing the "instruction boost" that is offered by Futures. The people who work there have one goal which is to make your child successful. They work with you to build a customized schedule for your child to make sure the learning experience is optimum. They also weave in clubs and activities to make sure it remains a fun place to learn. Every support and extra we asked for was accommodated and their online student progress tracking is very well designed and easy to use. We have had a wonderful experience and highly recommend it if you want your child to have a deeper land meaningful learning experience that caters to them and is not a one size fits all approach.

Ferishta as well as his teachers were proactive and always available to meet when challenges arose. As a child care professional myself, I understand the challenges with meeting the needs of all students and I feel that LVA was masterful in this.

LVA was once a good school, but my family's experience over time tells a different story. My son…read moreattended from 2020 to 2023, and unfortunately, he left underprepared for high school. There was little to no support or guidance from LVA to ensure a smooth transition to a traditional school environment. I was surprised to see a couple of highly positive reviews appear about a year after my son had left--reviews that appear to describe him directly. These accounts do not reflect our experience and seem inconsistent with the reality we observed. It raised concerns for me about how feedback and reviews might be represented or encouraged within the school community. It is more shocking given that the individuals concerned had nothing good to say about one another at the time. During our time at LVA, the quality of education and communication declined noticeably. What began with promise during the COVID period gradually shifted to disorganization, inconsistent teaching quality, and removal of key student resources, such as lunch and recess. I also encountered several situations where staff appeared underqualified or lacking appropriate classroom management, including questionable instructional choices that were not age-appropriate (R rated movies) More troubling were instances of unprofessional conduct and poor handling of disciplinary issues, which had lasting effects on my child's wellbeing. Several parents, myself included, raised these issues repeatedly before meaningful action was taken. To the school's credit, there were a few dedicated and talented teachers who genuinely cared about their students, and they deserve recognition. However, the broader environment was not consistently supportive or healthy, particularly in leadership and communication. In summary, while LVA may look appealing on the surface, our experience suggests that the substance does not always match the image. I encourage parents to seek out multiple perspectives and, most importantly, listen to their children's experiences before making a decision.

My son joined the Pleasanton campus last year. When we went for the Big Minds tour, Jessica…read morepatiently answered all his questions for more than an hour. They offered us a one week shadow period which gave him a clear idea of the school before joining. At Big Minds, my son comes home happy and regulated which never happened while at public school. He is able to advocate for himself and find solutions to his problems with the teacher's help. In the first few weeks, he developed strong bonds with some teachers. He loves the subjects taught like philosophy, law origins, politics, astronomy, etc. The best part of Big Minds is that the teachers truly connect with the students. My son is always seeking new information and so far the school has been intellectually stimulating for him. For math, they tested him and placed him at the grade level he was testing at instead of his grade level by age. He enjoys book club and last year they read books like "The Hobbit", "Lord of the Rings". He also had a great time in literacy coaching where he wrote his own book the entire year which he hopes to get published someday. Apart from the academics, my son is learning how to get through perfectionism, try new things, handle conflicting views, debate respectfully, get through things that trigger him, etc. These skills will stay with him life long. As a parent I am happy that my son enjoys school, I no longer have to advocate for him and that he has found a place where he belongs. I am grateful to the staff for everything that they do to make school such a positive experience for my child.

In that short time it was clear the school district wasn't equiped to teach her in a way she could understand. They did not have the training, resources, or understanding of neuodiversity - instead trying to teach all kids the same way, and trying to jam every square peg into a round hole. Big Minds changed our lives. At Big Minds Pleasanton, every child is treated as an individual whose voices, thoughts, and passions are considered and heard. The staff is passionate, communicative, intelligent , and kind. My daughter WANTS to go to school every day. She is excited about learning, because she's allowed and encouraged to do so in a way that makes sense to her. I'm so grateful we found Big Minds and I encourage everyone to check it out.

CACC truly stands out as one of the best Chinese schools in the Bay Area, thanks to its exceptional teachers. Unlike typical Chinese schools, CACC operates as a non-profit organization. It offers very competitive tuition rates. The school hosts a variety of cultural events throughout the year, such as the Mid-Autumn Festival party and the Chinese New Year gala. These events are fun band educational, helping kids and their families connect with Chinese traditions and heritage. In addition to Chinese language classes, CACC offers a wide range of enrichment classes for both children and adults. I have personally enjoyed taking singing and photography classes. These classes have not only helped me learn new skills but also allowed me to make many new friends. :) I highly recommend CACC to any family in the tri-valley area seeking a high-quality, community-focused Chinese school.

She attended a boarding school fair with us and made introductions as she knows many of the schools admission officers. While we ultimately decided that boarding school wasn't for us, she did lead us to an excellent private high school in San Francisco. She made the daunting search bearable and even fun.
