Huge shout out to Ms.Neeraja for always putting the kids first and looking out for their overall well being. From all the events they do for kids, to working with parents based on each child's needs and ensuring social emotional learning, the teachers here put in so much effort in taking care of their students that I highly recommend this center for any parents looking for early child care. Special mention to Ms.Sheila who teaches kids with immense patience and always has their back. A special mention to Ms. Neeraja for maintaining the school so well and for always being approachable and supportive. She truly cares about the children and parents, and makes sure concerns are addressed thoughtfully and promptly. Another thing we truly appreciate is the flexibility and understanding with parents' timings and schedules. It really helps working families. He also showed other give-away traits like giving up quickly on facing challenges, constantly looking for my approval in whatever he did as if he was doing what he was only to please me or other authorities. if another kid accidentally spilled something or did something similar, he quickly categorised it and announced that he/she did a bad job, as if to pass on the blame before he was blamed for it. Tell-tail signs of fixed mindset. Once he did not want to do his letters so the teacher threatened him that mom won't come to pick him after lunch. He was devastated to say the least. All this was all way too alarming to me. So I decided to change his preschool/daycare. Luckily for me I came across Shooting Starts through neighbours and it has been life changing to say the least. They let the kids be kids and give them space to be loved and also get their energy out. Now my son has stopped calling out other people for their mistakes. He takes pride in saying "it's okay". He doesn't give up on figuring out how to do something. If he can't then he asks for directions and tries again. And then he takes pride in saying "Mumma I tried and I tried, and now I can do it!". During drop offs, the same boy who used to cling to me like a monkey till July 2024 and cry and beg to not to be left at preschool, he runs off and sits with his fiends and teachers. And he started doing that within a week of changing schools!! Threatening 3year olds to learn their letters will only make them averse to studying. Teachers at Shooting starts take a better route and make all of this fun for the little guys. I would give them ten stars if I could. They have been life changing and promoted a healthy growth mindset in my little boy.

There are also so many programs and projects listed in the newsletter we receive regularly. They do a wonderful job helping her build strong fine motor skills, and Fridays are especially fun because of dance day, which she looks forward to each week. What really stands out is the staff. Ms. Hamina and Ms. Kendall are genuinely kind, sincere, and caring. The teachers are always going above and beyond for the kids, and we always feel comfortable knowing our daughter is in good hands. Our son started in the 2s class and stayed through the 5s class. Throughout his time there, we truly felt that his teachers cared about him, his growth, and his progress. We especially appreciated the consistency of having the same wonderful teachers in the classrooms over the years--it gave us such a sense of comfort and showed how dedicated the staff is to the school and the children. Our daughter, Penny, started in the youngest classroom at 1 1/2 and continued through the 2s class. Sadly, when her brother started kindergarten, the commute became too far for our family, and we had to make the difficult decision to move her to a school closer to home. We genuinely wish we could have kept both of our children at Little Flowers. Our family had such a positive experience here, and we are incredibly grateful for the care our children received. We would absolutely recommend Little Flowers Montessori to other families. This is the only school I actually had a bad experience. When you enter, every admin staff and teacher you greet is extremely friendly but don't assume that's what goes on when you're away. Our worst experience was when we were trying to move up our child from the 2's to the 3's class, They would not move him up because he wasn't potty trained even though he was very advanced for his age in every aspect. I've heard of many daycares requiring 4 year olds to be potty trained but not 3. And when we were transitioning and we were trying hard to potty trained and move him up to the 3 yo class (he was 3.5 and still in a class with kids who just turned 2!), he had small accident so instead of putting the extra diaper we kept on him, they put his pants on without an underwear for the rest of the day, as in "I told you so" message to me by the teacher/director. The director Vanessa was also abrasive and unkind about this whole transition process. Out of all the daycares in Pleasanton we've been to (The Child Day School, Global Village Montessori, St. Clare's, Sonshine preschool) this is the only one I tell my friends "don't do it".

I see Ms. Charmaine when we drive by working early and late hours to make sure the children have play based learning activities. She keeps the place meticulously clean & cooks EVERYTHING fresh for the kids meals everyday. It's also very balanced for nutrition (I'm a nutrition coach and personal trainer so she gets a big thumbs up from me!). My son was very very picky with food before coming here, but just the past few weeks he has been more open to trying new foods, which is a win win in my book. I would recommend this preschool to any family looking for quality, great value childcare with a holistic approach. Very satisfied with my choice to put him in here. The teachers really take time to understand each child's personality and learning style, then create a plan that helps them grow in ways that feel natural. They balance academics with culture, independence, and respect, while constantly encouraging critical thinking and curiosity. Because of that foundation, my kids entered public school confident, independent, and ready to learn. We even skipped TK because we knew they were already prepared -- and the transition went smoothly. Even now, they still love coming back for the after-school program, which says a lot about how welcoming and inspiring this environment is. Our experience has been consistently positive over several years, for two very different children. If you're looking for a school that prepares children academically and helps them grow into thoughtful, respectful little humans, I highly recommend this one.

This is my first-ever Yelp review, and what inspired me to write was a small moment that happened…read moreseveral days ago: I was struggling to roll up a yoga mat when my almost 10-year-old daughter walked over and said, "Mama, let me help you. I know how to roll it up. I learned at Beyond because that's what we did every day after nap time, we rolled up and put away our own blankets." Then she confidently demonstrated exactly how to roll up the mat like a pro! This simple moment stopped me in my tracks. Five years after graduating from preschool, she still remembered and applied something she learned there--not just the skill itself, but the confidence and independence behind it. To me, that is the lasting impact of Beyond Montessori! My daughter joined Beyond Montessori shortly after turning two and stayed until she graduated from preschool. Before joining Beyond, we were trying to find a suitable preschool. We visited several so-called "Montessori" schools in the area, but none felt right. We knew we wanted an environment that respected children, encouraged independence, and nurtured curiosity; not one focused primarily on academics at such an early age. When we visited Beyond, we were immediately drawn to the spacious playground, the garden, and most importantly, the atmosphere. Meeting Ms. Sophia was what truly convinced us. Her passion for early childhood education and her understanding of Montessori philosophy deeply resonated with us, and we felt our daughter would be in caring and capable hands. Throughout those years, Ms.Sophia and the teachers provided thoughtful updates, meaningful feedback on our daughter's development, and invaluable parenting advice drawn from years of experience. As parents of a strong-willed child, we especially appreciated guidance that focused on understanding and supporting who she was becoming rather than trying to change her. Now, we still stay in touch with Ms. Sophia and have brought our daughter back several times to visit. It brings us so much joy to see our daughter growing into a cheerful, creative, capable, helpful, and responsible person. As one of the many Asian families in the area, we sometimes feel caught in the pressure to keep up and make sure our children never miss an opportunity. But over time, I've come to believe that the most important goals of early childhood are not getting ahead academically, but helping our children develop confidence, independence, responsibility, kindness, and a lifelong love of learning. For our family, Beyond helped lay that foundation, and for that, we will always be grateful!
