I felt like I was again being a student. I want to commend the staff at Danville Montessori School for the care and support they gave to our family.

Over the course of her time there, she has grown tremendously--both academically and socially--and we couldn't be more pleased with how well-prepared she is as she moves on to kindergarten. Academically, the preschool provided a solid foundation in early literacy, math, and critical thinking skills. She learned not only her letters and numbers, but also how to ask questions, express her thoughts clearly, and approach new tasks with confidence and curiosity. The curriculum was thoughtfully designed to make learning fun, engaging, and age-appropriate. Just as important, the school created a nurturing environment that helped her blossom socially. She learned how to make friends, resolve conflicts, share, and work together with others--all key skills she continues to work on and will carry with her for years to come. Her confidence has grown, and she now communicates her feelings and ideas with ease. The teachers and staff are truly exceptional--patient, kind, and genuinely invested in each child's development. We always felt she was safe, supported, and encouraged to be herself. It's clear that a lot of love and care goes into everything they do. We feel incredibly lucky to have been part of the DanMont community and would wholeheartedly recommend it to any family looking for a warm, enriching, and academically strong start for their child.

One of the biggest things that drew us in was something surprisingly hard to find--they welcomed both of our kids. When our daughter was just 16 months old and our son was 3.5, we were able to send them together, which was incredibly important to us. Many places don't accept younger children, so this alone meant the world--but it quickly became clear it was just the beginning of what makes this place special. The environment is genuinely warm and loving. Every child is seen, heard, and cared for in a way that feels personal. As a parent, you can tell this isn't just supervision--it's connection. Our kids come home happy, talking about their day, their friends, and what they learned. Another thing we really appreciate is how the classrooms are structured by age group. Each child gets to socialize and learn alongside peers at a similar stage, which has been great for their development. At the same time, during midday playtime, our two kids still get the chance to see and play with each other for a bit--which is something they both love. There's also an amazing variety of activities. From soccer to dance to music, they bring in specialized teachers who clearly love what they do, which adds so much depth and excitement to the kids' experience. It's not just playtime--it's enrichment in the best way. On a practical level, they make life easier for parents too. Providing snacks and meals takes a huge daily burden off our plate, and we've really appreciated the structure they teach the kids--everything from nap time routines to mealtime habits and even cleaning up after themselves. Those little lessons go a long way at home. One thing that truly stands out is the communication. Miss Mona is fantastic at keeping parents informed and connected--she consistently makes sure we're up to date on our children's progress and development. That level of transparency and care gives us so much confidence and peace of mind. And on a lighter note--they are amazing at making dads look good. I'll admit, I'm terrible at tying my daughter's hair, and there were definitely mornings where I sent her in with a very questionable, super loose ponytail. Somehow, by pickup time, it would be transformed into a perfectly done style--even a beautiful braid--making it look like I had everything under control. (For the record, mommy got the illusion... but none of that hair magic was done by dad!) We also love how they keep parents involved in the day-to-day moments. We regularly receive photos and videos throughout the week, and it means so much to get those glimpses into our kids' days--the smiles, the activities, and the little moments we'd otherwise miss. Beyond the care itself, they're incredibly practical for working families. Their pricing is very competitive, and they're open when many other schools are closed for holidays, which really helps minimize the amount of sick or vacation time we have to take off work. Their summer programs are another highlight--plenty of outdoor time, plus fun activities like water tables and slip-and-slides that the kids absolutely love. And when it comes to big milestones like potty training, they work closely with families to keep things consistent between home and school, which makes a huge difference. At the end of the day, there's no better feeling than knowing your kids are safe, happy, and truly cared for. We're incredibly grateful for the community they've created and the role they've played in our children's early years.

This is my daughter's second year at Garden Montessori. We found this gem after having conducted a…read morevalley-wide search and visited at least 8 preschools. Here is our criteria and how we found Garden Montessori met our high standards: 1. LOVE OF LEARNING: We firmly believe that that learning is a lifetime endeavor, and specifically sought a learning environment that would set the foundation for an enduring love of acquiring knowledge and exploration. At Garden, we were so pleased to find that the curriculum is multi-layered. On one layer, the school covers the traditional Montessori curriculum of people, plants and animals of all 7 continents (over a period of two years). At another layer, they cover art and science (rotated over two years), one year culminating in an Art Show while the other year culminating in a Science Fair. On one visit, I watched a child cut out a species of fish that swam in South American waters (active learning and practicing manual dexterity) and excitedly informed me about the fish. 2. INDEPENDENCE & SELF CONFIDENCE: Our daughter is cared for by two parents and two sets of grandparents. While she's fortunate to have so much care, an unintended consequence is that she is showered with constant reminders of how wonderful she is - and inadvertently training her to be dependent upon their affirmation of her own value. But we know she'll need to build a solid foundation of her own sense of self, a strong internal compass to withstand the inevitable onslaught of peer pressure later. At Garden Montessori, her teachers have been working to build up her confidence so she can work independently. I would agree that the concept of refraining from praise (as a form of encouragement) was hard for us. But I understand its purpose - to raise children who seek achievement for personal satisfaction, rather than for the approval of others. 3. HOLISTIC LEARNING (versus rote memorization): We toured a large number of preschools and noted that many children were learning by memorization. They can easily recite their numbers, "1, 2, 3, 4, 5 ..." but didn't understand if you said, "Can you hand me 5 pencils?" We love Garden Montessori because they teach a core understanding of a subject matter, and not through rote memory. They don't teach children to memorize that the word "cat" is C-A-T, but that the construct of the word is C-AT (cat), which can also be H-AT (hat) or B-AT (bat). Basic principles that can be applied in other situations. 4. CHOICE IN ACTIVITIES: In other preschools, we noticed the children were organized into small workgroups that worked on a single exercise (example: making a butterfly, because they were learning about butterflies that day). But what if the child didn't want to make a butterfly? Another reason we chose Garden is because each day, the school is set up with a wide range of activities that all support the learning of a concept - and the child is able to choose from among the activities set out. We subscribe to the fact that individual choice (which is not free play) supports active and engaged learning. 5. GRACE & COURTESY: In short supply these days! At Garden, I've noticed that these elements are a part of their everyday curriculum. The older children are taught to mentor the younger ones. During the fall, the children practice a simple task of pouring and serving tea (over and over) - culminating in a Mother's Tea in December - a demonstration of their ability to practice grace and courtesy. 6. CALM & ORDER: One of the most astounding aspects of Garden Montessori is the miniature child-sized kitchen. During our first visit, our jaws dropped when we watched this 4 year old set out his own place setting, microwaved his own snack, and cleaned his own dishes afterward - oblivious to our stares. After that - we were sold! 7. SETTING: And lastly, Garden Montessori is located on a 1/3-acre in a residential neighborhood, within a home that has been reconstructed to adapt to the scale of little ones. It has a large green space for the kids to run during free play, a vegetable garden, and play structures. It's home-like and it makes me feel good to drop off my daughter there. Because it's in a neighborhood, I can understand why the school has a strict drop-off/pick-up protocol - they are simply being good neighbors. I have found that each of the teachers are available to discuss any issue during the course of the school year. I am disappointed that the prior reviewer had such misperceptions. But as a mom who has wanted to place her child in Garden Montessori for a long time - it has definitely met my expectations. I would encourage anyone to make an appointment to visit and judge for themselves.

As a former educator, I placed a lot of pressure on myself when selecting a preschool for my…read moredaughter. After reading reviews and talking with various people, Garden seemed to be a good fit for our family. Garden Montessori fosters independence while providing a warm and supportive environment where children thrive. The teachers encourage children to create and discover new things. I appreciate that my daughter has the autonomy to choose what she wants to work on or learn, on a daily basis, while still being prepared for the next steps in her education. My daughter loves learning and practicing new skills, and I feel that the teachers at Garden really help fuel that passion. In addition to academic skills and independence, Garden nurtures children to be confident, kind, and caring. Garden is a great place that my daughter looks forward to going to everyday, and I agree with the other parents when they call it a gem! I am so glad to be part of the Garden Montessori community.

He can write from 1-50, knows quite a bit of Spanish, "reads" to the other kids and has learned so much more than I could've anticipated. He's an outgoing child and likes to goof around. The teachers give him space to be silly and can also authoritatively but compassionately reign him in. I know he'll be more than prepared for Kindergarten. The teachers also plan family events throughout the year such as Mothers and Fathers Day celebrations, concerts, grandparents day, and student birthday celebrations. They incorporate many days where the kids can bring items from home to share (such as hike day at school, bring your favorite book, etc.). Our son is always excited for these days. The location of the school is very convenient for our family. It's near 680 but not so close that you hear it. It's across the street from an area with swim lessons, gymnastics lessons, and indoor soccer, so our son always says "hi" to his school when we're going to activities there. Tuition is very comparable to other preschools, but this school offers helpful drop-off and pick-up times for two working parents. Not many preschools in the area offer the same times.

Long story short, after 4 months, more than 2/3 of her behavioral items, such as tantrum, difficulty in listening instructions, sharing with friends, etc, have been fixed and I can tell that even at our home. Our daughter loves her school, and is happy to go there everyday. The director Ms. Annagi has almost 40 years of experience in Montessori education. Other teachers (Ms. Yessania, Ms. Laxmi, Ms. Evelyn) are also very experienced. They know how to deal with problems of kids, and they guide kids to the right path without yelling or being frustrated. I saw that their tone of voice was calm but had discipline and charisma. Teachers are very communicative and always opened to discuss issues of children. If there's any issue, they give brief verbal report with advice when I pick her up. Also, the education of TRIMONT is well-balanced and well-organized. They give the monthly schedule filled with daily themes and focuses, and follow the schedule accordingly. Of course since it's Montessori school, each student learns by their own pace when it comes to phonics, math and other Montessori work, but they all learn various topics together which covers science, culture, art, geography, season, etc. Our 4.5 year old daughter already reads Kindergarten-level books, recognizes and writes numbers from 1-50, can even complete addition and subtraction. When we had a private conference before Thanksgiving holidays, they gave us a thorough assessment sheet about our daughter. We could easily understand her status and things she needs to learn more until Kindergarten. I'm very satisfied with TRIMONT, and would definitely recommend this school to others in area.

That was until I learned about Tree of Life and met the owner Kelley, If you are looking for a place where you feel comfortable and happy every day to send your child to school, this is the school for you. This was my daughter's first experience being away from me and after only one day going School she fell in love with it. My daughter woke up every morning excited to go to school and sad to leave. She would count down the days when school was closed and ask me to wake her up early when the break was over. While my daughter quickly learned how to spell her name and read, in my opinion, what I appreciated the most was the life skills she gained. My daughter was taught kindness, honesty, giving back to the less fortunate and how important it is to respect all cultures and people. The owner Kelley is truly a gift. She has created a family dynamic on campus that is felt in every class. She is present on campus, connected with all parents and students and she staffs her school with the most amazing group of educators that truly love your children as their own. It is rare to find a place that balances rigorous academic excellence with such a genuine focus on character development and respect. We have watched our youngest (now 4) blossom here over the last two years. The growth in his education level is nothing short of outstanding--he is learning concepts I wouldn't have expected at his age, yet he is doing it with joy and curiosity. But beyond the academics, what impresses me most is the school's commitment to constantly bringing in new activities and enhancing the learning environment. They never settle; they are always finding ways to be better. A few amazing days of the year for you and the family: All the Holidays - The school ensures we celebrate holidays from across all cultures and life. Fathers' Night: An amazing way to connect their children with their fathers. One of the best moments I look forward to every year. This standard of excellence isn't limited to just one teacher; it is consistent across the board. Every staff member, at every level, cares deeply about these children.
