From day one, we've felt genuinely welcomed and supported by the kind and dedicated staff. What I truly appreciate is the variety of enriching projects the children get to explore -- from hands-on science experiments to creative art activities, there's always something exciting that sparks curiosity and learning. The daily structure also includes plenty of outdoor play, which my daughter absolutely loves, and it's great to see her come home happy and energized. Another standout for us is the Spanish classes! As a native Spanish speaker, I really value that my daughter can reinforce her Spanish skills at school. It's a beautiful way to stay connected to our roots, and at the same time, it's a wonderful gift to introduce the richness of another language at such an early age. The teachers manage to weave learning into every part of the day with so much care and warmth, both in their interactions with the children and with us as parents. Global Village truly feels like a nurturing community where children can grow academically, socially, and emotionally. We're so grateful to be part of it!

At first, I was really surprised to see a stained couch, not other friendly notes or things (live activity list, books, pictures, good notes etc) in the entrance and waiting area. There is a plastic/Glass wall on the side behind which the person sits to say Hi to you!!! The you walk in to an office room, equally disgusting and dull. Instead of showing me real kids doing stuff or just letting me ask stuff, they have a really long BOOK of photos from a time when kids did something and they captured (perhaps). Then the lady emphasized so much on potty training (FYI, it's not okay to force, you should be polite and offer good suggestions no press the requirement on a parent). Then we walked through the hallway, has like 4-6 class rooms may be, small playground, class rooms are messy and oddly structured. No diversity FYI! I don't know something about this school just made me want to walk away quickly vs other schools like stratford, primrose, quarry lane or even a home based daycare. It's like I would send another Mathilda here! It's pathetic, needs color, fun, smiles, diversity, cleaner rooms, cleaner entrance for sure, clean that white couch too please.. it looks like a prison! May be cheap but it's terrible to think I could send my kid here for the entire day

I know how to roll it up. I learned at Beyond because that's what we did every day after nap time, we rolled up and put away our own blankets." Then she confidently demonstrated exactly how to roll up the mat like a pro! This simple moment stopped me in my tracks. Five years after graduating from preschool, she still remembered and applied something she learned there--not just the skill itself, but the confidence and independence behind it. To me, that is the lasting impact of Beyond Montessori! My daughter joined Beyond Montessori shortly after turning two and stayed until she graduated from preschool. Before joining Beyond, we were trying to find a suitable preschool. We visited several so-called "Montessori" schools in the area, but none felt right. We knew we wanted an environment that respected children, encouraged independence, and nurtured curiosity; not one focused primarily on academics at such an early age. When we visited Beyond, we were immediately drawn to the spacious playground, the garden, and most importantly, the atmosphere. Meeting Ms. Sophia was what truly convinced us. Her passion for early childhood education and her understanding of Montessori philosophy deeply resonated with us, and we felt our daughter would be in caring and capable hands. Throughout those years, Ms.Sophia and the teachers provided thoughtful updates, meaningful feedback on our daughter's development, and invaluable parenting advice drawn from years of experience. As parents of a strong-willed child, we especially appreciated guidance that focused on understanding and supporting who she was becoming rather than trying to change her. Now, we still stay in touch with Ms. Sophia and have brought our daughter back several times to visit. It brings us so much joy to see our daughter growing into a cheerful, creative, capable, helpful, and responsible person. As one of the many Asian families in the area, we sometimes feel caught in the pressure to keep up and make sure our children never miss an opportunity. But over time, I've come to believe that the most important goals of early childhood are not getting ahead academically, but helping our children develop confidence, independence, responsibility, kindness, and a lifelong love of learning. For our family, Beyond helped lay that foundation, and for that, we will always be grateful!

The teachers really take time to understand each child's personality and learning style, then create a plan that helps them grow in ways that feel natural. They balance academics with culture, independence, and respect, while constantly encouraging critical thinking and curiosity. Because of that foundation, my kids entered public school confident, independent, and ready to learn. We even skipped TK because we knew they were already prepared -- and the transition went smoothly. Even now, they still love coming back for the after-school program, which says a lot about how welcoming and inspiring this environment is. Our experience has been consistently positive over several years, for two very different children. If you're looking for a school that prepares children academically and helps them grow into thoughtful, respectful little humans, I highly recommend this one.

What makes this school stand out is that both classes follow the same weekly theme, so even though the kids are at different levels, they come home excited to talk to each other about what they learned that day. The curriculum is thoughtful and the take-home work is surprisingly rich (honestly, even the adults learn something!). But what truly sets PBMP apart is the teachers. They don't just watch over the kids, they genuinely love them. Even after our kids moved up to new classrooms, their previous teachers still greet them warmly every time they see them in the hallway. We toured many schools before choosing PBMP, Montessori, church-based, traditional preschools, and nowhere else did we see this level of authentic warmth. I've visited schools where the classrooms were eerily quiet and the teachers looked disengaged. For 2 to 5 year olds, that kind of silence isn't calm, it's a red flag. I truly believe the culture here starts with Principal Lena. She's hands-on, always with the kids, and it's clear she handpicks teachers who share her heart for children. As parents, safety is always a top concern. The teachers send weekly photo updates, and if they ever notice even a small injury like a cut on the lip, they reach out immediately to check in. That level of care and communication has given us total peace of mind. Our older one is now graduating and heading to kindergarten, and I can't thank his teachers enough. He's always been a sensitive, high-needs child, and the patience and love they showed him made all the difference. We will truly miss this place.

In addition, the facilities and play spaces were consistently clean, well maintained and organized, which gave us great peace of mind every day. My daughter attended Blackhawk Montessori from February 2025 - August 2025. We had to choose a…read moreschool quickly due to a short-notice move, and I appreciated that this school was quieter than others we toured (my daughter was sensitive to loud noise) and that it was close to our rental. During the first month, the directors consistently told us at drop-off that she was doing well. However, about a month in, we received a note in her backpack from a classroom teacher indicating that she had been struggling with distraction and listening since the beginning. I wish we had been given more honest and timely feedback from the start from the directors, as that mismatch felt misleading. At a formal parent-teacher conference two months in, we were encouraged to have her assessed for support through SRVUSD, as they felt she wouldn't be successful in an academic environment without extra help. We took this seriously and ultimately enrolled her in TK in our school district starting August 2025, where she underwent a full 60-day assessment. The results showed no learning concerns, and her TK teachers report that she's doing very well and is easily redirected when distracted. We had similar positive feedback from the after-school childcare team. After this experience, I spoke with three other moms that were in my daughter's Blackhawk Montessori classroom and learned their children had also received feedback around concerns with focus, excessive talking, or other similar behaviors. I think the school has expectations that may not align with typical child development, which can lead to excessive negative attention. That said, there were aspects I appreciated: - I liked Ms. Tania, one of the two main teachers in my daughter's pre-K classroom. She seemed balanced and firm, while also kind. My daughter liked her. - The school offered several paid enrichment programs (gymnastics, singing, soccer, dance, etc.), which my daughter consistently looked forward to. - As a full-time working single mom, I appreciated the longer care hours offered. There were also significant concerns: - The concerns with transparency and unrealistic expectations/negative attention noted earlier in the review. - My daughter reported that the other main pre-K teacher was "mean," especially toward the end of her time there when that teacher ran the smaller second summer session. Even nearly five months after leaving Blackhawk Montessori, my daughter still mentions that teacher and says she never wants to return, which is upsetting. - In retrospect, the six-hour school day (before childcare) was too long for her. She's done much better with the 3.5-hour school days that SRVUSD offers for TK/K kids. Overall, I've learned that my child does best in a warmer, more teacher-led environment. While Blackhawk Montessori had some positives, it was not a good fit for her, and she has done significantly better in both the schools she attended before and after her time here.

This is the only school I actually had a bad experience. When you enter, every admin staff and teacher you greet is extremely friendly but don't assume that's what goes on when you're away. Our worst experience was when we were trying to move up our child from the 2's to the 3's class, They would not move him up because he wasn't potty trained even though he was very advanced for his age in every aspect. I've heard of many daycares requiring 4 year olds to be potty trained but not 3. And when we were transitioning and we were trying hard to potty trained and move him up to the 3 yo class (he was 3.5 and still in a class with kids who just turned 2!), he had small accident so instead of putting the extra diaper we kept on him, they put his pants on without an underwear for the rest of the day, as in "I told you so" message to me by the teacher/director. The director Vanessa was also abrasive and unkind about this whole transition process. Out of all the daycares in Pleasanton we've been to (The Child Day School, Global Village Montessori, St. Clare's, Sonshine preschool) this is the only one I tell my friends "don't do it".

I have been sending my child here for 2.5 years and I have truly loved this school. The Director Vanessa does an excellent job of keeping things structured and orderly. She also bonds with the students and knows all the parents by name. Often times, the older kids in the Magnolia class get to go help at the front desk and "greet parents" which is something that all the kids truly enjoy. They sit at the front desk and color and will greet the parents as they walk in and leave. When my child first started at this school, they had a very hard time adjusting and all the teachers were very good about helping with the transition. Even the ladies who worked at the front office helped and created a bond with my child to help out with the adjustment. One of the things that alway amazes me is how well the kids behave. Even in a room with 30+ kids they all act appropriately and do what they are told. I have been there during snack time and the teachers really know how to motivate the kids and have them do as they are told such as - no running in class, cleaning up their plates, cleaning up their toys, standing in line quietly, etc. All the teachers that my child has have been lovely and my child has nothing but positive things to say about every single teacher. From an educational perspective, they are spot on. My child was learning basic math at 4 years old and some learn it even earlier. The teachers encourage the kids to learn at their own pace while helping to progress them along. Another great thing about little flowers is that they provide breakfast, lunch, and an afternoon snack. They always make sure to have fruit and veggies and they really know how to encourage the kids to eat their salad, veggies, and fruit. My child comes home telling me about how they serve strawberries, watermelon, grapes, cantaloupe, etc. during snack time. My child who attends little flowers is a much better eater than my older one who did not attend this school. Thank you Little Flowers for creating a caring and structured environment for my child to grow and thrive!
