Before this place, I had never been to a chiropractor. Needless to say, when I injured my back, a friend recommended to go see one. Thus, Groupon provided answers. And I was super super happy. Dr. Strang is definitely a very skilled chiropractor and talks to you to see what you need. He does manual adjustments, muscle stretches, electrical stimulation (via electrodes) and heating pads. The experience was very very pleasant, and my back felt a lot better even after the first visit! I was able to return to normal activity quite quickly. This is a family-run business; Dr. Strang's wife runs the front desk. Every one is super nice and professional. I first came here a year ago after a nasty snowboarding fall that had me waking up and neck and back stiffness for a few months, and very limited ability to do squats and deadlifts (100 pounds felt unstable, versus 225 pound squats before). After 3 appointments I was back to playing soccer and exercising comfortably. I stopped going after a while because I "felt fine", then just recently I had a collision playing soccer that resulted in a stiff neck and upper back for several days. So for decades, I used to trash-talk about chiropractors because of my limited knowledge. Stuff like "they're not licensed" (they are), "they don't know what they're doing" (there's good and bad chiropractors like in any other profession) and/or "you're better off seeing a physical therapist" (not true...read on). Then over 2 months ago, I started having this reoccurring excruciating pain in my bicep. I went to my regular doctor (an internist...not just a family practice or general practitioner) and she said it appeared to be a pinched nerve. Fine, how do I fix that? All she did was prescribe me muscle relaxant medication. "Uhh...how exactly is this supposed to reverse a pinched nerve?!" She said if it didn't go away (after 2 months, it hasn't), then I might need to see a physical therapist. So I did a bunch of research and discovered physical therapy only applies AFTER you are injured whereas chiropractors are about PREVENTING injury by making sure the nerve conduits from the spine vertebrae aren't compressed. Lucky for me, my sister has been going to Dr. Strang for a year and recommended I check him out before the more expensive physical therapy (and possible surgery). The results? Dr. Strang definitely knows his shit. In just 2 visits, he has significantly diminished the pinched nerve. For 2 months, I was waking up EVERY night (often several times a night) in serious sharp pain. After my first visit with Dr. Strang, I was able to get uninterrupted sleep for half a week. After the 2nd visit, I feel even better. I expect to require 1 or 2 more visits before the pain will be completely gone but I can already tell this is a legitimate practice. So I willingly admit, in prior years I did not know what I was talking about. Now my eyes are open and I look forward to seeing Dr. Strang not just to alleviate my pinched nerve once and for all but also to keep my spine from compressing in the future thanks to his treatments. I was recommended Dr Strang's office, and I can say, everything was better than expected. The cracking sounds that happen during an adjustment scared me so I turned to a medical doctor for help whenever I injured my lower back at the gym. She gave me a back brace and medication which helped briefly but the pain would still return with the same intensity. Dr Strang was my last hope.
