Ah Straight Talk. When I discovered them it was a great thing. $45 for unlimited everything. No BS taxes & fees. No contracts. It can't be beat. I've been with them a long time, probably close to 10 years and stay simply because of that fact. Presently there are way more mobile carriers, more competition and services so this hurts Straight Talk bad. If you've read the other reviews or even asked someone's opinion of Straight Talk you know there is a common theme for their bad reputation. Customer Service. It is atrocious. Always has been. There is no legitimate help with the the services or devices. The service reps are outsourced overseas so beyond the apparent language barrier and the scripted "sorry you're experiencing this" over and over. They run through a list of "possible" fixes for your problem, but never know truly what it is and sometimes there is no solution. It just is what it is. It is unlikely they'll call you back and many times your problem just will not be solved. My latest example of many is the switch somewhat recently to VOLTE 5G. I needed to switch over. I did so and my mobile data and MMS just stopped working. For weeks this went on and for weeks I'd call Straight Talk. Nothing. How did I get it fixed? Trusted a random guy on the internet to remotely reboot the system on my phone and become compatible with VOLTE. Ridiculous. It worked out good though. When the service works, it works but customer service is virtually non existent. I would not recommend straight talk and will absolutely switch at the next slightest mishap. read more

I bought a flip phone from the Straight Talk website about 4 years ago. It came in a box with everything I needed for setup. It is a basic phone for calls, texting, and internet. The phone was $29.95, and I pay $33.01 (including tax) per month for service. The phone screen went blank a couple of times, but I was able to resolve it by rebooting. Recently, however, my Internet stopped working and my Recent Calls listing (under Recent Apps) disappeared. Also, my automatic payment stopped. I signed up again but it did not work. I have to call and make payment each month. I went to Chat on the website (using my computer), but I was 155 in queue and I got tired of waiting. I tried again the next day and I was 152 in queue. I quit. Went back. And I was instantly connected with an agent. He told me that my plan does not include unlimited internet access. I can add 1GB of extra data for $5, or 2GB for $10, or wait until my next payment is due and I will receive a refill of 10GB. I just could not believe that I used 10GB. The only thing I do is to access my email daily. I texted 611611 for my balance which was: Minutes 1,482 and Data 0 MB. This morning I had 2 Missed Calls and 1 Voicemail. By accident, I discovered these items under Notifications. I accessed the Missed Calls, and then my Recent Calls listing re-appeared under Recent Apps, including all the Recent Calls which had disappeared. I called Straight Talk and added 1GB of extra data for $5.00. I have checked my balance 3 times and it is still 0MB, and I still cannot access the internet. I called them again (everything is done through a Virtual Assistant) and was told that my plan does not include internet. I texted 611611 for my current plan and was told it includes 100MB data. But, where is the 1GB that I just paid for? I went to the website again and an agent worked with me for 45 minutes, and then we got disconnected. Still no internet on the phone. I perused the website, and it looks like the Straight Talk plans have totally changed. My old plan is obsolete and nobody informed me the customer. I think I will have to sign up for a new plan or buy another phone with a different company and start from scratch. read more

I got cheated out a $5 promotion, my Rewards Points, one of the supervisors yelled at me and blamed me for activating my Rewards Points, said they could not replenish them,. I will say this, most of the employees there are good, as for upper management, that's another story. To add to this comment, as of my recent/current bill, they seemed to have rectified the issue. Egregiously poor customer service. Not necessarily the agents, but ST's policies. Spent hours on phone waiting for an agent, while chats are somewhat quicker to respond. This is the worst company I have ever dealt with. My phone was ruined after falling in water. When I tried to end this service StraightTalk customer service kept claiming I didn't authenticate my account. I gave them my PIN number (accepted p), but then they asked for the numbers I called frequently. They rejected each one! When I called the Chase credit card customer service to stop the automatic payments, the bank said it had to be done through StraightTalk. This went on for months. Ultimately, I had no other resort than to cancel the credit card after months of payments. read more

Actually, I give Straight Talk Wireless no stars whatsoever - they are horrible. It is one of the two worst companies I've ever dealt with. They provide no international service, which means that if you are their customer and want to use your phone outside the U.S., they have to "unlock" it so you can use another cell phone provider. Before a recent trip to Europe, I spent several hours over several days essentially begging them to unlock my phone, and in spite of many excuses and apologies for delay, with their own deadlines for action repeatedly being pushed back, they NEVER unlocked my phone or even explained why they did not. Imagine being in Europe by yourself with no phone access - that's what Straight Talk did to me. To add insult to injury, right after my return, because the credit card I was using for my payment to them expired, instead of pointing that out and asking for another card number, like reasonable companies do, they simply stopped my service with no explanation. I was then unable to reach them in any other way to say I wanted to move to another provider, which left me with no phone/text service even in the U.S. and forced me to extend my plan with them another month (denying me the satisfaction of ending the plan immediately, which I will certainly do at the end of my current month). read more

Don't do it. Run fast and run far away. This has to be one of the worst company's I have ever had to deal with. I was a StraightTalk customer for over a year and I purchased 2 new IPhones for my kids for Christmas. I spent countless hours over the phone during the holiday break trying to get the phones connected but for whatever reason one of the phones couldn't connect and they didn't seem to care. I ended up cancelling my account and sending the phones back and was told that I would have a refund within 30 days. It has now been over 30 days and I have not received a refund. I have called customer service several times and no one can provide me with an update. The customer service reps put you on hold and they say they are investigating the situation every single time and you get nowhere. I would not recommend StraightTalk. I had this company for 4 years never had a single problem. I go to order a brand new phone off the straight talk website and I ordered it an they said 1-3 days, it's been a week. Everytime I try and talk to someone they have no idea what they are talking about. They are trying to blame it on UPS, but they haven't even gotten the package, and when I talk to straight talk they are rude an honestly have no idea what they are doing, they need people that know an understand English. I had this service for several years. I was told I had to get a new box to replace the current one (the box worked fine). I also have Straight talk mobile phone. Once I got the new box the trouble started, My service would go off and on, I'd not receive phone calls and texts for days (if at all). I would not be able to dial out at times. 3 days ago both my home and mobile service went out, leaving me without any phone service. Then the nightmare started. I called their customer service and went through a hour of robotic customer trouble shooting having to restart with every new person I talked to. After an hour they said they would call back in an hour. They did call back but connected me to the department I started with on the 1st call. Bottom line I had to start from the beginning and they would not transfer my call until I repeated every step. Still no phone service 5 hours, 2 hang ups and 2 no call backs later. I started the process again the next day. I was told that there was an outage in our area and to call back in a hour it should be fixed. It wasn't and there again we had to start from scratch. After another hour and 1/2 I was again told I would get a call back. Did not buy it this time and said I would hold. The REP disconnected the line and put some type of block on calls into the care center from the phone I was borrowing. Called back in tried to get escalated to supervisor. Took 20 minutes to convince the REP to find some one. Person I talked to said was a supervisor but couldn't help and tried to get me off phone again with the promise of a call back. Service still not working on home phone or mobile phone and company refusing a refund and not able to fix problem. read more

I bought a new iPhone 13 on 12/3/21. On 12/14/21 Straight Talk deactivated my phone and illegally ported MY number to another carrier. I spend 1 to 2 hours on the phone with straight talk each day and correspond back-and-forth with messages on Facebook daily. They have done nothing except lie and tell me to call back in 24 hours. It has now been 11 days, which is 264 hours. And I have been hung up on, talked to in an angry manner by chauvinistic attitude laden representatives and interrupted more times than I can count. And now, it is Christmas and I have no way to contact friends and family by phone call or text. Straight Talk is the worst of the worst. I've reported them to BBB, FCC, FTC, AARP and Florida AG. Something has to be done. This is happening to many people right now. I have been with Straight Talk unlimited home phone since 2017. I had few minor mishaps with them but till they got a new updated version now with two antennas instead of one antenna. Only this time, I don't get my call waiting back. I have missed quite a few calls due to that then we play phone tags since. I've called at least 3-4 times to get it troubleshooted but not sure if they know what they're doing. Sometimes, they don't follow through what they said they're going to do. I've been a Straight Talk customer for over 12 years, I recently bought a new phone on 5/13/21. On 7/18/21 the screen went black, I contacted Straight Talk customer service immediately. They said when they received defective phone, the new replacement phone would be shipped. I paid to overnight the phone to their warehouse, it arrived at their warehouse on 7/20/21 at 9:01am, it now 8/3/21 two weeks later and still no replacement phone. warning do not use this provider. in the last five years my cell reception has gotten worse. even though there's no recent building of anything and many trees being cut down. it got so bad i couldn't get text messages, voicemails, nor make or receive calls. even the wifi calling wasn't working. the customer service either doesn't know or wont provide the assistance you need. i'll never reccomend or use this provider. went to spectrum mobile with no issues whatsoever. stay away from straight talk!! read more
