Our second time having Straight-Line come out to replace a dual pane window that was ready to be retired. We had considered having all the windows replaced in the house but it would have been many windows and a serious chunk of change. Since we only had one really bad window, we decided to get it done. The dual pane window in the front of the house had gotten condensation build up inside the two sheets of glass over time. Straight-line came out and measured, called a couple of days later with the price and it was very fair for a new window with divided lights to match the other windows including installation. When the install was completed about a week later the difference was clear...literally! No more "fog" inside, and you'd have to look really hard to be able to tell it wasn't the original. I had a broken latch on a bedroom window and made an appointment for a "free estimate". James came out to the house, lifted the window out of the track and pulled a piece of the broken latch from the window (no tools involved). Now that the broken piece was removed, it could lock and unlock again, enough of the parts were still intact. He then said that the fee was $180, after spending less than two minutes. I was never told that my "free estimate " could turn into a service call charge. How could I get an estimate without him looking at, and removing the window? Never received a "free estimate". While in shock over the price for what had transpired, I paid the $180. Later, I called the office to express my unhappiness, and was told that the service trucks take a lot of gas. We are 5 miles from their shop. Then I was offered $40 back, if I drove to their shop. I feel like denying the charge on my card... never got that "free estimate". read more

They found the parts listing in their comprehensive catalogues, identified the rusty old broken components I brought in, which I needed to repair my existing Milgard Windows. Absolutely wonderful customer service from the door to the car!! Need glass replaced? Look no further, Straight Line is where to go! We inherited an antique china cabinet and one of the glass window panes broke during transport. We have 2 young children at home and didn't want them to cut themselves or touch the items inside. I originally called another glass store and was told they could replace the pane and have it done the following day. When I went, they quoted me 5-7 days. In a bind to get it done before family arrived, I Googled and found Straight Line. When I walked in the lady at the front counter was was very helpful and quickly noticed that it was a glass pane from a curio cabinet. She knew the type of glass, the cuts needed, and quoted me on the spot. I asked for 3 so all the panes would match. To my surprise she said they could have it done within a few hours!! Sure enough, 4 hours later I received a call they were ready for pick up. When I walked in the lady remembered my name and quickly asked one of the gentlemen to help load them in my car. With no hesitation he picked them up from the back and brought them out to show me.They were perfectly cut panes with smooth edges that were identical to the pane I brought in as an example. The staff thanked me for stopping by as we walked out the door. They laid the glass down gently and positioned it so it wouldn't move around while I drove. A family owned business where they stand behind family -- not the customer! We were referred to Straight Line as a family member had worked for them for many years, thus we felt comfortable with their service and pricing. On installation day, they admitted to "forgetting" to measure four (4) windows in our home. Thus the price would increase to cover these windows, with a 20% discount. That evening, we found some scratches/gouges in the wood bed frame which is 12" from one of the installed windows. Photos were sent and although disappointed with the price now increasing for 4 new windows, we requested an additional $150 discount to cover the bed damage and they would not need to submit an insurance claim. They said they would call us back -- 48 hours later with no response, we called them. Owner Ron's attitude was highly indignant that we thought the bed damage was from his sons because "they are too careful to do this". Additionally, he refused to take any responsibility or even take a personal look at the damage. Needless to say, Ron is not interested in customer service, just protecting his sons because they are too careful to make mistakes. He didn't want to discuss they missed four (4) windows. read more

I would like to give kudo's to straight line glass. We ordered new beveled mirrors for two of our bathrooms and had them installed today. They are a family owned business and have great prices. Janette is the owners wife who gave us the very competitive estimate. Ron is the owner and came to our house to measure for the glass order. It only took 4 days to get the mirrors delivered. They could have done it sooner, but we had other contractors doing other work. One of the owner's sons, Mike,arrived right on time and started the installation. He was soon joined by one of his brothers and completed the install. In addition we had them remove two medicine chests and replace them with new ones. We were very happy with the work they did and the friendly, conscientious attitude of both of these guys. Over 2 weeks ago (On July 15th to be exact) i brought in a glass end table piece that had a crescent moon break out of it..leaving the dimensions of the original glass in tact. I asked to get an exact replica of the piece i brought in, sans the obvious break. Two days later i picked it up..took it home, and it was too big. Took it back the next day, asked to bring it down 1/16" or more. Got it home, still too big. Bring it back again and am now sensing an attitude that they think the problem is me as to why it isnt right. The issue is simple, if i bring you the original piece, and ask for a replica, that's about as easy as it gets. I dont hear anything for 5 days. I call and im told "its still sitting there on the table, i havent had time. We will get to it in the next day." Its now 4 days later ...nothing..no call, no glass, no worry. I can see how this is going to end. Andys Glass was much more welcoming today. They now will be servicing any of my glass needs. UPDATE: It's nearly one month since i brought the glass in and STILL NO CALL. I called today out of morbid curiosity(8/12) and they say, "oh, let me look in the back....ok, yes, its ready for pickup". We are talking about a 2'x2' square piece of glass. Our store was broken in to last night. The thief threw a large rock through a tempered glass door. We felt horribly violated. I boarded up the door at 615am as soon as I was able to get wood at Lowes. I called many shops around and all were nice and able to order glass for our door BUT I had to have it done today. We would have survived not having it of course but to have our store back to normal as soon as possible would let the healing process begin. Straight Line didn't want to have me get measurements over the phone because they wanted to come over immediately measure and then see if they had it in stock, and if not, where they could get it. I am happy to pay for fast service especially a locally owned business. I was prepared to pay a small fortune when they said they had it and could have it in within two hours. Not only was the price half of what I was prepared to pay, they cleaned the mess that was already there, did a great job, they were very nice, and happy to do it even today at well over 100 degrees.
