This is such a simultaneously charming and nondescript cafe in the middle of the Marais area that if you walk by too quickly, you'll miss it. The person in charge there is very friendly, accommodating, and knows her regulars well. I always feel like I'm going home to talk with family when I'm there because she is so welcoming. Once, when she was the only one there working, she apologized to me for not being able to take the time to chat with me as she had wanted to -- how generous and thoughtful! The coffee are food are also great, and they offer the breakfast menu late into the afternoon (very important if you like breakfast foods like I do). I had been looking for a place with good food, good coffee, and nice space to get some work done. I was not disappointed at Strada cafe! Although they're a cafe, they have table service and counter service. I had a delicious latte, a croissant, and un pain au chocolat (they're small). They did have a somewhat unusual rule, where you could only use laptops on one side of the cafe. Luckily, there was an open table on that side, so I had no difficulty working. The atmosphere is extremely cosy and welcoming. The food looked great, although I didn't try more than just the pastries, so I'm looking forward to trying more of the food on my next visit! read more

This cafe is excellent. I was looking for something while exploring Le Marais and found this little gem. It is very small and something you might walk right past if you weren't looking for it. I was here for brunch. They have an ala carte menu for breakfast and lunch or a prix fixe menu for brunch. Everything was excellent. The staff was also very friendly, asking if I needed help as I was trying to translate the menu. Highly recommend! read more

Strada is a charming coffee shop with a local vibe. It's located on a small street without many other open businesses. The shop itself is also very small and I would guess that it could seat no more than 30 people at maximum occupany. Seats could be hard to come by, especially if you're with a big group. Coffee itself was good, though I can't say I've had much to compare it with in Paris. There just doesn't seem to be as many standalone coffeeshops in the city that are not chains compared to my native LA. Based on this fact alone, I would recommend coming to Strada if you're tired after wandering through Le Marais or the Centre Pompidou. Some bonuses: - Service was great and the workers all spoke great english. - They do have a restroom for guests. -They sell beans from a few different local roasters. When I come back to Paris, I'll be sure to make my way back to Strada. A meandering walk through the charming cobbled streets of the Marais led us to Strada's unsuspecting storefront, which we likely would have walked past had it not been our destination. We all tried different items: I opted for the Breakfast of Champions with a veggie omelette, one person got the avocado toast, and two tried the savory French toast. The Breakfast of Champions also included three pieces of generously buttered toast, one freshly baked mini croissant with homemade jam, a coffee drink of my choosing (I opted for an iced soy latte as it was a warm day), a glass of freshly squeezed orange juice, and a side salad with a delicious balsamic vinaigrette. A bit on the carb-heavy side, but it's Paris, so to be expected! My highlights were the omelette and the OJ. The omelette contained just the right amount of veggies in its outer folding and was folded over a particularly flavorful cheese (gruyère, if I'm not mistaken). As an American, I am used to the over-stuffed breed of omelette, typically folded over heaps of fillings. Although this was not a traditional 'blonde' French omelette thanks to the plentiful veggies, it had the characteristic buttery smooth exterior and beautifully tender interior.. Each bite was fluffy and perfectly flavorful, and somehow the entire thing left me feeling full, but not bloated, as I typically do after an American brunch. I'm guessing this is due to the lamination cooking technique for French omelettes, which gives them optimal aeration, so that the egg butter mix is just set but still has a silky mouth feel when cut open. Overall, the omelette was a perfect middle ground between the American stuffed omelette and the simple French blonde omelette, combining the heartiness and flavor of the first with the outstanding texture of the latter. The OJ was exquisite -- gently sweet and just the right amount of pulpy. The croissant and jam were not the best I've had, but my standards were high because we were in France! Like others have said, it's a small place, perhaps not ideal for larger groups. My group of 5 had to cram in, as none of the tables were designed for more than 4. If this isn't an issue and you find yourself in the area looking for a hearty brunch and good coffee to fuel you through a day of exploration, I highly recommend Strada Cafe as a pit stop! read more

For all the days that we were here, we came to eat here every morning because they were so good! The portion is definitely good enough for an entire morning of tourism. The champion breakfast comes with omelet, bread, jam, carrot cake, etc. The big plate definitely fills you up for the day! One thing to note though is that they kept messing up our orders, so even though it wasn't a big mess up, literally every one of our dishes is always missing something. Breakfast is only served until 11 or 11:30, their lunch menu has mostly salad or sandwiches. I'm not a huge sandwich fan, but I'd have to say I really enjoyed those sandwiches! I absolutely loved my orange juice because it was so fresh! The hot chocolate came in a big mug, however was a bit too bitter even for me, so I'd add a package of sugar. I found this cafe through TripAdvisor while I was on a trip with 20 other students and a professor. We were in Paris for a week, and when we had optional activities, I dragged one of my friends to this cafe. The interior is very small, but cozy. The highlight honestly is the barista, who is originally from Britain and was a flight attendant. He settled in Paris and never left. I'm sorry I forgot his name, but I went to this cafe in May. My friend and I tried 3 drinks each that we never heard about, and made good use of the free wifi. Wifi was very, very fast by the way. The cutest thing was the sugar that was shaped like a croissant. It was a very nice touch. :) I definitely recommend this cafe, even though it's a little out of the way. Hands down the best espresso we found during our 2 weeks in Paris. (Most of the other cafes use pods or similar; we knew we'd like the coffee at Strada Cafe after seeing their genuine La Marzocco machine.) Our first stop on a whirlwind weekend in Paris began here at the Strada Cafe. Someone had mentioned to me that it was the place to be for a great lunch, or even a petit dejeuner... It also serves Aussie/Brit like flat whites, perfect if you need a pick me up in a city that just doesn't do coffee right. (Even the Starbucks here taste a little subpar). Anyway, we both have a light lunch consisting of a croque monsieur, a champignon (mushroom) and ognion (onion) tarte. They both come with a nice green side salad and a tangy sweetish moutarde (mustard) dressing that was actually delightful. The croque monsieur was actually nice and light - and had a delicate balance between the ham and cheese. It wasn't too oily, but could have used a little bit more cheese and toasting. The mushroom and onion tarte was also really good... but the darling of this place has to be the coffee. I've never really had awesome coffee in Paris, but now that I know that this place exists, this is going to be my place to go for when I need a good pick me up. read more

Great banana bread and good coffee. Barista I interacted with seemed friendly, but kept insisting on speaking English despite my speaking French to him. Reduced from 4 to 2 stars bc an older woman who appears to be the/an owner seemed apathetic to my indication that the Wi-Fi wasn't working. Two other English-speaking customers and I were all in need of a solid connection, and she kind of shrugged her shoulders about the connectivity issue. Her solution was to go to another cafe.
