The pizza is magnificent and it has everything to do with the cheese! Stracci makes their own cheese and it is nothing we have ever had before. We will definitely be coming back often even though we live an hour away! Highly recommend. read more

Actually the best pizza I've ever had. The Roman style dough is so unique. I could eat here every day.

We absolutely love Stracci and have dined there many times over the last couple of years, in groups both large and small. So this review is long overdue! We've done the family style option on a few occasions which gives you a chance to really sample their menu. All of it worth trying! The dips and focaccia are great (the gigante beans a particular favorite), the fall salad yummy and the meatballs a must-order. As for the pizzas, we love the Brooklyner but really you can't go wrong with any of them. The service is always friendly and warm. The steady sequence of food during the big family style dinners is great. We love bringing friends here for this experience as they always walk away with raving reviews. Everyone agrees it's great value for the money. 10/10 for Stracci! read more

Best meatballs and pizza in the area! We ordered takeout and it was on time and piping hot.

This place is so cute. I'd come here every day. The pizza is perfect plus it's fun plus you get drinks right away

We tried Stracci Pizza for the first time tonight and it was fabulous. Friends suggested we meet here for great pizza and salads and they weren't wrong! We had a great evening weather wise and the dining experience was the best we have had in a while! Highly recommend this place! read more

Love love love, one complaint they should give you maybe an extra piece of focaccia bread with the appetizer, there are two small pieces. Pizza is great read more

Favorite pizza/ italian place in the dmv area. Love the food, the bread the small plates and salad love the staff. It feels like family, in the good way the family who care for you, recognize you. Whenever friends or family are in town I make sure to bring them by. Special occasion - I'm stopping in. The menu changes to the seasons which is nice but the quality is always there. So glad to have this in my neighborhood! read more

5 stars all the way! Pizza, focaccia, and meatballs are out of this world. They unfortunately don't take reservations under 6 so anticipate a bit of a wait on the weekends. Food, atmosphere, and staff are worth the wait though! read more

Came here with high hopes considering how long the wait was for a table and the atmosphere was very nice. After drinks were delivered, waiter never checked on us again and food never came. Come to find out, order was never made. They made the food for us to go since the restaurant was closed already by the time they realized the food was never made. Meal was comped, but still quite disappointing. read more

Fabulous pizza. Crispy crust, flavorful toppings, house made cheese...... so delicious!

The best pizza Ive had in DC! Absolutely fresh ingredients made in house from scratch! read more

I had the fig salad and the the Stracci and finished off my meal with the marcona almond tart. All the night before the cherry blossom 10 miler. This meal was phenomenal! I ate all of it! The pizza crust was crispy, perfect amount of cheese and tomato sauce. I've never had Roman style pizza before but I think I have a new favorite. Don't get me started on the tart - they packaged it beautifully to transport and whatever they put in the mascarpone on top was like crack. I'll definitely be back! read more

The food here is off the charts delicious but the service is consistently terrible. I get that you are small and growing, but Stracci really needs to figure out how to manage both in-house and takeout. Consistently 30-60 min wait times for pickup despite scheduling online. Bc of small dining room, that seems to be how most experience their menu. They always seem overwhelmed, uncomfortable waiting areas, staff is rushed and mostly rude. Great food is responsible for their popularity but only so long u want to put up with the rudeness and the hassle. Really want this this place to both thrive and get their service right. read more

Good pizza overshadowed by negative vibe and poor customer service: Upon being seated we were scolded by management when another couple joined us (at a table for four) because we failed to provide an accurate headcount. We ordered a $50 bottle of wine that was unintentionally tipped over by the wait staff. Wine hit 3 of the 4 people (clothing, shoes) and a glass shattered as well. We were given extra napkins and an apology by the staff who spilled the wine. That's it. No front of house manager or owner came out to say anything. In fact, the two women checking people in came out to stare at us because we had occupied an outside table for longer than they clearly wanted us to. Why? We were waiting on a pizza that somehow got lost in a sea of orders. We spent close to $300 for a good meal but the surly attitudes and wine bath we could have done without. Sadly, Stracci does not embody the friendly Del Ray vibe all the other restaurants embrace. Our first time there was definitely our last. read more

This place sparks joy for me, a restaurant I think I'll remember 50 years from now. It's not just how good the food is. This is the perfect example of a small business that values quality and care. Del Ray is lucky to call it home! Pro tip: cocktails to go! read more

The pizza and other food are delicious and the service/staff are very nice. They offer takeout but not delivery. Note about takeout; the number of takeout orders is limited, so call early. You may be thinking that that's inconvenient, but is really a commitment to quality that they know what their small kitchen can handle and will not sacrifice quality for in-restaurant diners or takeout. read more

Absolutely perfect from start to finish! Service was on point. Pizza was delicious, balanced and creative. Wine selections fit perfectly to complement the menu. And the Marcona Almond Tart is a game changer! Thanks Stracci for an amazing evening. read more

This is our second time here and they didn't dissappoint. Instead of eating this delicious pizza in the car we decided to enjoy the out door patio area. The food trailer is parked on the side of the building so it isn't visible from the street. Back to the pizza. The crust was done to perfection with a nice crunch on each bite. The pizza is good and the flavor is amazing! LOTs of flavor. If you like a little spice in your life, I recommend you order the Brooklyn. We were skeptical of the chilled asparagus but it was REALLY good. Even the kids (ages 6 and 7) agreed. read more

We ordered two pizzas from Stracci's and they were both delicious! Very simple, high quality ingredients allow you to really taste and enjoy every aspect of each slice. I could tell care was taken with our order! read more

The pizza is just exquisite. It's not neopolitan style, but it's one of the best pizzas I have ever tried, whether in Italy or up and down the East Coast. The owners are so sweet. Great work guys! read more

I've been coming to Stracci monthly (if not more often for their weekday specials!) for over a year now and it's always been worth the trip from DC. They've recently upgraded their QR code ordering system, and I love how easy it is to order right from the table! Why I'll be making the drive from DC for years to come... The service: The severs are all so sweet, always a smile in their eyes and very helpful. Chef Johnny is behind the counter whipping up something delicious. Owner Annalisa can be found running the show with expert precision and as the friendly face that greats you and takes you to your table. That leaves only owner and Chef Tom. A genius with not just pizza, if you're lucky you might catch a glimpse of him making magic in the trailer out back where the deliciousness happens! The bar: Bar guru Chad mixes up a delicious Negroni and reinvents it for each season (he also makes a refreshing mocktail if you don't want something boozy). There are wine specials during the week that pair perfectly with all the delicious apps and pizza. Definitely let Chad suggest an Amaro for after dinner - he's super knowledgeable about their variety! The food: This isn't your by the slice pizza counter, and for that you'll be thankful! The menu is curated to perfection to fit the season and Chef Tom's culinary expertise really shines. Start with the freshly baked focaccia - it's as amazing as the pizza. You can always find a fresh seasonal veggie like the brussels sprouts or asparagus and crisp refreshing salad on the menu. Don't overlook Chef's signature meatballs. Seriously don't. They are better than my Italian grandmother's (sorry Nana!!) and my favorite thing on the menu. We usually get 2 orders to take one home because we need to save room for the pizza. Now for the star of the show... the pizza. Never had Roman style before Stracci, and anywhere else, I still prefer Neapolitan. But Chef Tom has made me a believer! His handmade dough is so light airy and crispy! This tasty crust is paired with the perfect red or white sauce to match the toppings that also rotate with the seasons. But don't worry there are the staples every week that never disappoint. My favorites are the Erminia and Brooklyner! Last but certainly not least, most pies are topped with Chef Tom's homemade stracciatella cheese - mozzarella's better cousin. If you've ever had burrata, stracciatella is the creamy center that makes burrata so delicious. One pie is probably plenty per person, but don't rule out leftovers...they reheat great the next day! And definitely save room for dessert! I was (and still am) in love with Stracci's tiramisu (it's one of the best I've ever had), but a new favorite is the "a little chocolate something" - a must get! This trifecta of awesomeness is what keeps us coming back! Highly recommend!! read more

Best pizza in del ray and maybe all of dc. Service a bit slow but staff is kind. ....

This is a neighborhood gem and we come here often. Best pizza and cocktails in the area, hands down! Their other items like appetizers, salads, and desserts are also top notch. All staff are all professional and highly competent during a time of severe staffing shortages post-pandemic. Super cute ambiance and great music. Looking forward to our next visit! read more

Great pizza. Awesome service. Neighborhood, local vibe. Will be even better when weather gets warmer.

Great pizza, nice comfortable setting... we have been here twice and unfortunately won't be back.. QR code ordering or ordering at the counter with needing to hold on to cc until we leave is not something we want to deal with on a date night... missing the personal touch... read more

Delicious food and nice neighborhood feeling when you walk in. But that is where the positives end. You are forced to order with your phone and a QR code. The servers literally will not take your order. If you want help you have to go to the bar, and even there they are less than helpful. The online ordering became a bit chaotic with our large group. That would have been avoided if a server had come to our table and take a moment to take orders all at once. It just felt extremely disorganized and not relaxing. Then they rushed us to leave by bringing boxes to the table that we had not asked for. And finally, a 20 percent gratuity was added because we were a group. Ordinarily, I would support this, but the service wasn't just bad, it was absent. They are clearly going for a fancy neighborhood vibe, but the terrible service really ruins it. read more

If you read my other reviews, one will note I try to be fair...We went here with high expectations. Firstly, The good news, the food was quite good. Hard stop. Now all the rest...cocktails are premade with very limited options one of our party wanted a simple vodka tonic. The answer "no." The general theme is quite silly: no, we won't take your order, no we won't make the cocktails you want, and yes, YOU the customer get to use this snazzy app on your phone to order you own food...while this maybe appealing to a 22 year old, this place has forgotten that a restaurant is a lot more than food: it's a sense of being served graciously, happy banter with your bartender and server, knowing you are valued, and not just another order in the queue. We sat for 30 minutes waiting for a round of drinks and appetizers l, until I flagged down an employee, who then confirmed we hadn't hit the correct buttons within the ordering app. Here's an idea to save your good food: ditch the app, realize your clients aren't 19, and are the ones paying you to serve them. The whole experience l, other than the food was off putting. read more

The best pizza in Del Ray. Crunchy crust but fluffy and airy inside, almost like a focaccia bread. The stracciatella cheese is soo delish, I hope they package and sell it someday! We've ordered twice and our food has always been fresh out of the oven at pickup time. Don't miss out. read more

This is easily the best pizza in Del Rey and maybe in the DMV. You have to like crust with some crunch and char. The cheese on their pies is homemade and definitely tastes like it! Go here! Can't miss this one! read more

I have been a "yelper" (barf) since 2013, and I'm pretty sure this is my fourth review, so I don't do this a lot. My opinion of yelp is that it's typically a place for wanna-be food nerds to do their thing or a**holes to complain about stuff. That said, I was compelled to say something because this place is legit rad. High-end pizza that even my kids devoured. New favorite spot, and I am SO pumped they are now a fixture in Del Ray. read more

The pizza is extremely salty and the wine is awful. We bought a bottle of their weekday special wine and it was bubbly red wine (I don't recall reading that it was bubbly on the menu but maybe I missed it) and it tasted very cheap and like cork. The pizza itself was decent but way too salty. They use that online feature where you pay and order via your phone but then the staff just kind of ignores you since they're not taking your order. Would not go back, sorry!!! read more

My wife and I had a great dinner at Stracci tonight. Their Roman-style pizza had a delicious crust and their house-made cheese was perfect. We also had (and loved) their peaches & speck appetizer. Our server told us they're all former Vermillion staff, which explains why everything was so good. Today we sat outside, but I'm looking forward to when they have the space fully open. We'll definitely be back regularly. read more

The pizza is really good here. We enjoyed three different pizzas and they were all very good. The one thing that is a little disappointing is how they are so hard-core with the Covid drama. I just returned from a trip from Europe and no one wore mask in restaurants, on trains or anywhere. The entire staff was wearing mask and the order system was through an app. All of the customers were without mask. The atmosphere was just awkward. Time to move on from the covid righteousness. read more
