Tucked right into the charm of the Cotswolds, Porch House restaurant is the kind of place that…read moreinstantly makes you slow down notice the small town charm. From the moment you walk through the door, you're met with that quintessential Cotswold feel--low beamed ceilings, warm wooden floors, and a cozy, intimate atmosphere that works just as well for a relaxed lunch as it does for a intimate dinner. It's quaint without trying too hard, and you can feel the history in the space. The staff are genuinely cheerful and welcoming, adding to the overall experience without being overbearing. Service flows naturally, you order your food and drinks at the bar before heading to your table. As for the food, it absolutely delivers. From the main courses, everything is thoughtfully prepared and satisfying, rounding out an experience that feels both comforting and a little special at the same time. If you're looking for a true taste of the Cotswolds--both in atmosphere and hospitality--Porch House Restaurant is a spot well worth visiting.

What a beautiful stay at The Porch House at Stow in the Wold. It was truly a memorable stay, as if…read moreit were out of a movie. Check in was a breeze and oh so glad I had an overnight bag as there is no lift. The accomadations were just wonderful, from the comfy bed, the linens and the available drinks. We enjoyed Dinner in the Hotel's restaurant (we did have reservations) and it was memorable. The morning breakfast service and available choices were a delight and such attentive service. I must add that this Hotel is located in one gem of a town and one I will definitely be revisiting. Parking can be a pain, but definitely worth it.

Never have I ever left a restaurant in tears. You know when…read moreyou just *feel* the racism? It doesn't need to be blatant but is usually subtle. POC will understand 100% that feeling. We booked this last minute and as soon as we walked in, were ignored. A white couple came in after us and the blonde waitress went directly around us and took them to a table. I made direct eye contact as she was taking them, as if to say, I saw that and yes we're still here. She intentionally avoided us completely after as we were standing there waiting to be helped. The man behind the bar saw, seated us instead, and then we were ignored for another 20 minutes. I asked another blonde waitress if we could be helped and she said WE'LL GET TO YOU. She had never even acknowledged our presence or existence prior. I was already so upset we just decided to leave after that. We left with empty bellies and a trip to a local grocery store instead. There's a Yelp review from 9 days ago about this and one on TripAdvisor from this month saying the EXACT SAME THING.

We had: - Crispy Lincolnshire Poacher, roasted sweet potato, honey roasted carrots, baby spinach, chicory, avocado (£8.50) - basically a grown up mozzarella stick that was so delicious we had a hard time getting our mom to share bites with us. - Mixed roast beef and pork, crackling & Apple sauce w/ goose fat potatoes, double egg Yorkshire pudding, red cabbage, honey roasted roots cauliflower cheese and gravy (£16.50) - thank god we saw another table receive their servings first because then we knew this was a huge portion to be shared. Very good, traditional English meal - Crispy pork belly, creamy truffle mash, baby spinach, roasted button onion, cauliflower purée, apple sauce (£16.50) - delicious, especially the creamy truffle mash. Service was friendly although we had to catch their attention a bit more than I like. The space has a welcoming, well-decorated pub feel but well lit. We realized afterwards that they had out door seating which would have been nice to take advantage of with the fantastic weather! There is a parking lot out front.

Getting to the room, while at the top of the house and a bit of a way to get too, was charming in how you had so many twists and turns to get to. All the way passing some great prints that intrigued and amused. The room itself, was a little small, but very charming. It had a spacious wardrobe and had everything else you may need. There was a nice bathroom, again decorated very aptly. Breakfast was a highlight, I had the scrambled eggs and smoked salmon, which was divine. The coffee was good too. Very nice hotel that I would love to stay in again.

Each of our aparthotel suites has been individually designed and blend classic country colours with contemporary style. We are different. We offer space, real space away from the typical pokey English hotel room and we provide autonomy. Hence our aparthotel suites are very roomy but are offered on a "bed only" basis (breakfast is provided on a "to go" or "in bed" basis and provided to you in your suite). If you require spacious accommodation whilst visiting the Cotswolds we are for you. There are currently 1 one bedroom (both +61m2), and 7 two bedroom (100+m2), aparthotel suites available at the Unicorn. Each aparthotel suite has been carefully restored and decorated individually to create a bright and fresh feel while retaining a traditional, country character.
