I really like the quality and taste of their product and the cleanliness of the stand. They're always friendly and they offer a few great options. Often I go for the Storm, blended mix ins within a soft serve ice cream cup, similar but way better than a DQ Blizzard. Parking can be a challenge with the angle of the road compared to the lot, but take it slow and you'll be fine. I'm really hard pressed to find a better soft serve around and the price is fair compared to local chains that also have soft serve. Most ice cream places implode when they receive multiple sundae orders, but they always seem to be well staffed and well trained in delivering the product with a sense of urgency. I think they take great care at serving at the proper temperature for the soft serve because I've never had a "soupy" treat like I often receive at DQ. read more

This place is a treasure. It can't be anything less than a 5! Delicious soft serve ice cream, and I believe they said they have been in business for decades. I couldn't decide on the pistachio ice cream or a traditional hot fudge sundae. The grandma type figure behind the window suggested a hot fudge sundae WITH PISTACHIO ice cream instead of vanilla. I light bulb went off and I was all in. I thought, YEAH, that is exactly what I want. I order and ended up sitting outside on one of the picnic tables in the cool April air enjoying my post dinner sundae. It was perfect. Great prices, and friendly service. It was a great find being from out of town and so glad I stopped by. I really enjoyed the experience and the ice cream. Recommend it and if I am back in the area will make a trip back. read more

They offer many varieties of frozen treats and hot snack items that are sure to please all ages and tastes--they know their community of customers! Since I was a kid in Munroe Falls in the 80's, my family would bike to Stow Cone on hot summer days. I loved their flavors of the week, and I would usually get a chocolate or caramel dipped cone with "crunch" sprinkles. I loved watching them dip the cone and then let the shower of crunchy bits fall onto the hardening shell. Now as an adult, I've occasionally driven across town to share the experience with my own kids (minus the calorie-burning bike ride). They are family owned, so check their hours on their Facebook page before you go, especially on holidays and early or late in the season. This is a cute family owned little ice cream spot! They have something insane like 34 flavors of soft serve and a ton of sundae flavors. I was so overwhelmed with all of the choices. We stopped here for a little cone around 9 before they closed - not too busy and super quick. They have maybe 5-6 parking spots next to their shop. Stow Cone is honestly pretty cheap for ice cream and definitely worthwhile for the stop. It was like $3.75 for a Reese's PB sundae. They also have a few benches and chairs so you can eat your sweet treat in front. If you're around and have a hankering for some cheap soft serve - I'd recommend supporting Stow Cone! I can remember the first time I drove into Stow Ohio on the way to my then boyfriend of one month's home (now husband) and rolling into drove, there it was, Stow Cone. I laughed. I laughed a lot. I thought it was really funny because it's like Snow Cone, only it's Stow Cone. And I love anything sweet. Since then, every summer, every time I visit Stow, I drag our family/friends here so that I can get ice cream. Their dip cones (butterscotch dip! or blue raspberry!) are delicious. In terms of flavor, it is best to do vanilla, chocolate, or one of the two daily flavors. A good bet is always the worms n dirt sundae with chocolate ice cream - it's an all time favorite. The slushies, or glaciers if you add soft serve swirled in, are better than Dairy Queens. The awesome thing is blue raspberry ice with rainbow sherbet - delicious. Pretty much any sweet on the menu is great. I have tried other ice cream places in the area. When it gets cold, I just get sad, because all the other places pale in comparison. So stop by in the summer and sit out on the benches and bask in Stow Cone's glory. read more

For the past three years, this has been my number one choice for local ice cream shops. The staff is always quick & friendly, I love their selection of random/unique flavors of the week. I have had flavors here such as green apple & fireball that I have never seen available at any other shop. There cute strawberry shortcake sundae is one of m y new favorites! It's great for children & adults alike, with outdoor debating and actual food if you're hungry for something more than ice cream. His order was done before I decided on something and after it was put down - a Stow Cone employee said "WELL!! THERES YOUR MALT!??!" *eye roll* Almost irritated he was still looking. Maybe she didn't see I was still ordering? Maybe she assumed he wasn't ordering for others to take it home? Who knows! Staying at 'Annma's' house includes a walk to Stow Cone if it's in season ( they're closed for the winter months). It's family tradition in our house. We have driven past this many times, so it was only a matter of time before we stopped. Seeing the soft serve ice cream pictures reminded me of Super Kream, an ice cream place that used to be in my neighborhood as a kid. I love that Stow Cone does the kids' cones with the faces - again, reminding me of my soft serve place as a kid and so fun! The only reason why this isn't 5 stars is because the flavored soft serve can be hit or miss. I ordered the salted caramel and didn't really get that flavor - it tasted more like vanilla and not even a hint of salted caramel. But based on their sundaes and other offerings, I'm sure we'll be back to try more! read more

We went here Sunday night for an after dinner treat. I got the pumpkin cheesecake soft serve in a waffle cone and my husband got the mint oreo sundae. Mine was ok but weakly flavored. The mint oreo sundae was gross. It was plain oreos crushed up in a cup with vanilla soft serve and very fake flavored mint syrup. The syrup wasn't mixed in, it was layerd in between the ice cream and the cookies. We probably won't be back. Handel's and Stricklands are still our favorites. read more

Even if I didn't love Stow Cone, I would give it five stars for the krunch topping alone. I've never seen it anywhere else, & I still don't have any idea what it is (cereal, caramel? something?), but it is SO DELICIOUS. I also love that you can order any cup or cone "with a face," which is just sugar googly eyes & a marshmallow nose. I'm a big fan of ordering the two flavors of the day in a twist cone, no matter how terrible they sound together, sometimes dipped in, like, cherry, or something wacky, because apparently I'm still a child. I live in the Stow area, and I was happy to see Stow Cone opened for the season. Unfortunately my visit today was not pleasant, but frustrating so I left. When there is a large number of kids coming from a sports game, 1 person should take care of the kids, and another person should take care of the other customers. This place is the epitome of summertime - the kind of place that brings back childhood memories. A true soft serve stand. They serve a few fast food items as well (nachos, gyros, possibly more) but we haven't gone for anything other than an old fashioned soft serve ice cream. It's creamy and delicious, and it's cheap. You can get a kid's cone with a face on it (marshmallow nose and candy eyes) for 85 cents. My toddler loves it - but I've heard adults order it for themselves too, so don't be shy. An adult-size small cone is less than $2. You can add a variety of flavored dips or sprinkles for a few cents more. There are benches and picnic tables out front for eating, and parking has never been a problem. I've also seen the signs advertising 34 flavors of ice cream, but so far I've stuck with vanilla, chocolate, or swirl, and have not been disappointed. If I want hard ice cream, or unusual flavors, I'd probably go to Handel's. But for a simple cone on a hot summer day, this place is as good as it gets. read more
