Called Stove Doctor to assess and repair our gas fireplace. Kim was friendly, knowledgeable, professional and was willing to squeeze us in on a Saturday, despite their very busy schedule. The technician who came out, was prompt, very thorough also professional and knowledgeable. He tried to repair onsite to save us having to purchase a new part, and he really worked hard to do so but unfortunately due to the age of the fireplace the part was completely rusted. He ordered the replacement part, came back and we finally have a working fireplace again without breaking the bank. Stove Doctor is an honest, and reliable option for when you need this type of service. Highly recommend. read more

They know their stuff! We have had issues with our gas fireplace since we moved into our home and this is the first company that seemed to actually know what they were doing. They were able to replace the glass front and service the fireplace for a great price. Took a little while to get on their schedule, but i'm sure we are right in the middle of their busy season. After reading reviews about other pellet stove owners having the same problem as well as being stood up after having scheduled an appointment, I am in the process of beginning a search for a new service provider...one who appreciates their customers! read more

We called Stove Doctor back out to repair our propane fireplace after a great experience with them 7-ish years ago. It appeared that the pilot kept going out and would stop working. He and the crew were here for several hours troubleshooting, and even called the manufacturer because our unit was acting up in a way he'd not seen in his 20+ years. Overall, they cleaned it, tested our parts to confirm they weren't bad, and then ended up also replacing the wall switch as a last resort for the quirky issue. The combination of all he did got us to an even, warm glow. With his cleaning and switch replacement, our propane fireplace is like new! Bill even let us know that he thought our valve would eventually go out and to be prepared to replace it with the age of the unit. He was honest and said it could be in a few weeks or a few years, so he wasn't worried, especially with the change in how the unit was working after the repairs. I was worried about a large bill with the time spent troubleshooting our problem, but the cost was reasonable and a great value to us. Horrible, I stayed home this morning for an appointment they drove through our court, I saw him and his truck he drove off and wasted our whole morning. They never returned phone calls by myself or my husband to find out why they did that, they just wasted our day and did not care. We waited a whole month for this appointment. read more

I had a similar experience as Karen Y. We waited over a month for the appointment, technician came and was supposed to evaluate the problem and said we would receive a full report in email, including parts necessary to fix the fireplace log set. He then charged us more than the quote we had received when scheduling. I never received promised report or diagnosis and was told parts weren't available to repair. So $175 for nothing. So on our own, after some google searching and YouTube video watching, we found the part we needed online, we ordered and replaced it ourselves for $30, and the fireplace is working fine. I would rate 0 stars. Was quoted 185.00 service call plus parts. When they didn't have the part I was charged the 185.00 which I paid but requested a quote for the part. What I got was an estimate with over charged parts price and an install price. When I questioned it the response was "that's our price". When I requested the parts number which I should be entitled to with diagnosis charge of 185.00 I was told the contact to the manufacturer of the gas fireplace. So I am out 185.00 and fireplace still is not repaired. We support small businesses but I can not recommend this one. read more

The Stove Doctor does not conduct business in a professional manner. Phone calls are not returned after a defective part was replaced apparently with another defective part on a pellet stove. Paid for with a check for $410 and 1 year later stove is still not repaired. They got my money and the part. read more

I had a crown seal put on my fireplace chimney several years ago but it deteriorated rather quickly. I contacted Stove Doctor as they have done some previous work on my fireplace/propane gas fireplace insert. Ben performed the job of cleaning off the old crown seal and applying the new crown seal. He did an awesome job! He showed me a section of the old crown seal he removed. It was paper thin and you could tell was not fully covering the surface of the chimney. Ben also show me some pics he took then went about his business of cleaning off the old crown seal and applying the new crown seal. The job took him about 30 mins. He showed me pics afterward and what a difference! He was thorough and applied a much thicker coat than the previous company I had hired. It just so happened I was on my roof a few days later cutting tree limbs when I examined Ben's job up close. You could tell it was professionally done. Stove Doctor may not be the cheapest but they are always courteous and professional. You really do get what you pay for! read more

When I needed pellet stoves installed, I needed someone who could help the stove accommodate a curved brick wall on my fireplace. Several places made it sound way too hard for them. But Stove Doctor stepped up and had a special fitting cut from metal that accommodated the curved wall without a hitch. They have been servicing our stoves ever since.
