After recently moving into a new home built by S & S Homes, I ran into what appeared to be a structural issue that they showed little interest in addressing--even though the home is only two years old. Stout Roofing had originally installed the roof, but due to timing, I ended up going with another roofer when the issue first came up. Unfortunately, that turned out to be a mistake, as it became clear corners had been cut. That's when Dave stepped in. Even though Stout wasn't the company that did the most recent work, Dave took the time to evaluate the situation and ultimately offered to make it right--and he absolutely delivered. He went above and beyond what I expected, showing integrity and a genuine commitment to quality. Above and beyond! These folks were recommended by a Mesquite, NV real estate agent and boy did they deliver! I had some tile damage from a broken tree and the HOA was beating me up threatening fines if I didn't fix the roof. I received an estimate within 2 days of contacting Stout Roofing. Their super professional representative called and texted pics to explain my options. I green-lighted the job and they completed the work the same day. Afterward, I received an electronic invoice that made settling the bill very convenient. After paying, I requested that they send pictures of the work so I could shut the HOA up and Stout sent them promptly! Jordan at Stout Roofing was an essential part of the team that helped diagnose and repair our roof drain leak. They originally gave us a quote to patch some roof areas. And then they responded very quickly when a really bad winter storm threatened to flood our kitchen and living room. Ordered a quote, man arrived within 2 days, climbed on the roof, came down and said he would have a estimate within the next 2 to 3 days for a complete roof replacement. This was early July of 2020, it is now mid Oct 2020 and still no estimate nor communication from Stout Roofing. I called the office in late Aug. and was told the inspection assessment was still with the inspector who had come to the house and she would get with him to complete the estimate for the re-roof, still no communication/estimate - now mid Oct.. If they are not willing to see a project through or even provide an estimate, as promised, why not just say "we're not interested in doing the work". Very bad taste about this company, not a good attitude for a business to have. read more

stout installed a beautiful metal roof. since it is a vacation home I did not realize it leaked when it rained.. after being in town during a downpour, I called and someone was at my house in an hour. I had alot of damage to my ceiling and they agreed to pay for the damage as well as fixing the initial problem. The owner of the company called me and was very cordial. the leak was fixed in one day. Don't ever use Stout Roofing, worst company ever. Workers threw tar paper, trash, shingles and food trash onto my patio, broke my favorite humming bird feeder, didn't offer to replace or pay for, the amount of roofing nails in my driveway and street made it so I had to park across the street from my complex. Wrapped their extension cord around my DirectTv sattelite dish and now it no longer works, they refuse to pay the cost of DTV to come out and fix it. Oh and lets talk about the workers, cat calls, rude comments and when I complained it got worse, they started earlier, started jumping up and down on my roof top. Not a single other neighbor has roofing debris or trash in their yard. Today they took an air blower to the roof and blew all the little roofing rocks onto my patio, the one I swept and cleaned last night, its all over the patio, chairs, plants. Still waiting for the Foreman to show up, we were assured he would be here within the hour............!11:39am, still waiting. So again never ever ever use Stout Roofing. read more

I have used Stout Roofing 3 times. First time was a bad job, different owners. The new owner was great and redid that portion of the roof at no cost to me years later. This was the PVC roofing crew and they were awesome. Because they owner did me that huge favor, I called them again to do the shingle portion of my roof. They sent out a young guy and a guy who's been in jail for 13 years for attempted murder (twice). Nice to send a guy like that to a single disabled woman's house. He obviously had lost all manners in jail and was quite gruff. They charged 4800 for the job, just for labor, for a job that took 6 days, with 1 full-time person and one half time. After the job I realized I was hugely overcharged. When I was quoted it they told me it would take 3-4 guys a week. That is not what happened. The felon left the young kid on the jobsite many times working alone, leaving early afternoon or showing up late, and so the job went slow and the young kid struggled to do the work by himself (not his fault, it's hard to work by yourself). I also had some roofing that they had never installed before, and needed to read the installation instructions, which i provided well in advance. They never looked at it until to came onsite and I needed to provide them with the instructions again, which they then didn't follow and argued with me that the instructions were just written by someone who's never roofed before. When I told them it would void my warranty, they said the owner would warrant the installation and the materials anyway. Great, but I'd rather have it done right. At some point I had a phone call with the manager of the crew, who is the brother of the owner, who became rude when I opposed his viewpoint, interrupting me, and then threatened to walk off the job while literally my roof sheathing was exposed, knowing full well I would not be able to get a roofer in the very small town I lived in time before my house would flood in the rain season. Of course since it's the owner's brother you have nowhere to turn. Apparently the owner is also very close friends with the felon, so complaining about him was also useless. In the end, I literally just let them do whatever they wanted because I had no choice. There were several items that were on the list to be done as part of the quote and when it became clear on the last day it wouldn't be done I carefully brought it up with the felon (you can tell this guy will light up only with tiny spark), and he argued with me he had not been told about those items. It appeared when the manager had come out to spec the job, none of it was discussed with the crew. Suddenly the last afternoon the felon had a shift in attitude, and they got all the issues done but one that I forgot to mention, and went an extra mile to help solve an issue when he really didn't have to. For this, an extra star because it would have been a 1 otherwise. The experience left me with a very mixed feeling, but on the whole, I would not recommend the shingle crew, would highly recommend the PVC crew. The young kid was kind and an awesome person and worked hard and deserve a raise. All in all, it appears you just don't know what you are going to get with this company. read more

They wouldn't just fix a leak in one area of my roof, and I sort of understood that. So I paid for an entire re-roof,, with the promise they'd stand behind their work. Unfortunately they STILL didn't fix the leak! When confronted, they shifted and squirmed, making only excuses. No help at all. They're polite when they want your money but afterward...whole different story. Avoid! read more

This is the most unprofessional roofing company ever. They are a bunch of "RIP OFF" artists!!!! They do shoddy work and try to get paid for uncompleted contracts. Even the state of Utah license board and Iron County building inspectors won't go after these "crooks". I can't figure out why since Stout Roofing tried to get paid for not completing the roofing job of the Iron County maintenance building. The county withheld payment until the job was complete, yet they won't go after Stout's license!!!!!!! In the meantime, other people are getting "RIPPED OFF" If you use this company, you will be very sorry!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! read more

WORST EXPERIENCE EVER!!! Roofi was leaking through to my dining room. Was given this name by a friend and had to wait a FULL week to have an appointment for service. When they arrived promptly at 9:00, they spent 5 minutes on the roof and said they had to go to the warehouse and get supplies. At 4:30 - after waiting all day, I called the office to inquire about the non-existent repair guys. I never even got a call from anyone saying they were not returning!! Was promised the crew manager himself would be there at 8am the next day to fix the problem. At 9:30 I finally called the office AGAIN as no one showed and NO PHONE CALL AGAIN! Told someone would come "when they were available"!!?? Finally a couple of hours later, the guys showed up (nice guys) and caulked around a pipe and the solar panel and were gone in about 10 minutes. Just got the bill $175.00 for MY waiting for THEM for a week and 2 days, all MY phone calls to THEM, and 10 minutes and a quarter tube of caulk!!! I would NEVER USE NOR RECOMMEND this company to anyone!! Buyer beware! read more
