Our check

Our party of six planned a quick business lunch and Stout was recommended by one of the luncheon guests. We arrived around 1:00pm and were quickly ushered to a large booth. The restaurant was quiet with just a few patrons dining. Two of my guests, and frequent diners at this pub recommended "the bowls". We ordered: (1) Mediterranean Bowl - feta, cucumber, cherry tomatoes, chickpeas, kalamata olives, red cabbage, pickled onions, baby arugula & hummus, lemon tahini dressing. $19 (2) Asian Chopped Salads with Chicken - edamame, scallion, red cabbage, carrot ribbons, cucumber, black kale, kimchi peanuts, sesame & brown rice, miso-ginger dressing. $27 (3) Burrito Bowls with Chicken - black beans, roasted corn, cotija, pico de gallo, chili dusted tortilla chips, cilantro lime rice & tomatillo ranch. $26 A lemonade and an ice tea were also ordered, the other four diners had water. The total before tip was $172. My Mediterranean Bowl was very good, properly dressed and easy to consume. The latter is important at business luncheons. Everyone else said their bowls were good, and they were all empty prior to the conclusion of our lunch. Service was good throughout lunch, and I'd be happy to return. Though there was nothing exceptional about our meals, they were good, they were served promptly and the were properly executed. Sorry no pics, as this was a business lunch.

Stopped in on a Monday afternoon @4 for some well deserved celebratory drinks with my client after a very long road to closing. Upon arrival the place was still a little slow and we opted to sit right at the bar. We both started with Watermelon Frosés as we collectively took a sigh of relief that we finally made it to the finish line. As we sat and chatted we were checked on by a couple of the bartenders who floated around the bar. Neither of us were particularly hungry so we decided on one more cocktail each for the road. My client went with an Espresso Martini for a little "pick me up" and I went with the Running Wild, a recommendation from one of the bartenders. A mix of Bacardi Rum, blackberry syrup, fresh lime juice, mint, splash of club, it reminded me more of a refresher than a cocktail. As we were wrapping up Stout began to get pretty busy and loud. With 2 levels I'm sure they can get packed. Service / Ambiance / Drinks were ok, not sure I will run back but when in the area for future closings I may pop back in. Just A Note: We didn't see nor were we offered a Happy Hour menu, so not sure if they offer one. Four (4) cocktails with tax and tip (no food) , was just under $100.

Thursday night in June. The bar was packed. Body to body people. We had a table in the back but good vibes walking through the crowd. Our waiter, Charlene was on point. Offered IPA selections , as well as food. We were all pleased with our choices! The people in group were also pleased with wings.

I came here after work with some coworkers around 5:30 pm and it was packed. The upstairs area was reserved for a private event but there's a smaller room in the back that wasn't reserved. We were kind of overwhelmed with how busy it was but if you just ask a server they will seat you/find a spot for you. We shared the chicken fingers (which we asked for tossed in buffalo sauce) and fries. I got a Downeast cider. They just give it to you in a can, no cup. Chicken fingers and fries were good. This is a great spot for mingling and the crowd was (young) professionals.

I only come to this location for special events like holiday parties or birthdays it seem. The space is fantastic. Very Spacious big bar area too. This past time I was here it just rubbed me the wrong way. I waited what felt like 10 min for a bartender to come over and ask me what I wanted. Mind you I was standing right there at the bar and there were 4 or 5 of them working at bar area. Yes it was kinda busy but they kept walking by me. Finally one of them came up to me and so I ordered an Espresso martini. And then like 5 min later another bartender comes up to me and asks what I want to drink and I said I ordered already and he gave me an odd look. Anyways, the espresso martini was very tasty but sad they didn't put espresso beans on top like most places do. This is located right by Grand Central so It is a good spot to drop in for some food and drinks before you have to catch your train. The food looks very good here.

A true Irish bar. Great beer, good food and amazing service! This place passes the Guinness test. I asked the staff how many parts it takes when pouring a Guinness and got the right answer. The right answer is 3 but most places in NYC pour it in 2 parts which is perfectly acceptable. The Guinness was perfect. 10/10 Their Stout Burger with special sauce was excellent. 10/10. Their special sauce reminds me of the secret sauce from the movie Good Burger. It took your average burger and made it amazing. The ambiance vibes are chill. You get more of a commuter crowd since it is so close to Grand Central. They even have a GCT terminal board inside which is such a good move. The service here is exceptional. Emma is a fabulous bartender from Monaghan Ireland and knows her stuff. Bartender ranking 10/10 (friendly, knowledgeable, and funny) A perfect spot.

Street Fries (Beef Barbacoa, Monterey Jack & Cheddar, pickled red onions, crema)

Stout is your quintessential post-work watering hole. It's right next to Grand Central (has screens inside that show train times) and a multitude of beers on draft along with bottles/cans ranging from your classic Budlight to stouts/IPAs for the more adventurous. It's very spacious - two floors with bars on each, high tops and more seating towards the back if you plan on sitting down longer for food. Perfect for a group of friends to catch up over drinks. Fair warning, it gets loud but that's to be expected. Menu is full of your typical bar food and that's what a friend and I went with on a recent visit. The food is nothing to write home about... - Street Fries: Plate of fries covered with melted monterey jack & cheddar cheeses and topped with beef barbacoa and pickled red onions. Tasted pretty good but the fries were soggy. - Buffalo Chicken Wings: Mehh. I think they were lightly battered but it was sitting in the sauce too long and the breading was coming off.

Sean's easily accommodated our group of six. We started with pretzels and spinach artichoke dip…read morewith chips. The dip was hot and cheesy. Chips were replenished..eventually. The pretzels were more like warm soft breadsticks, served with a cheese dip and mustard on the side. Decor is an advertisement for Guinness but it IS an Irish pub in NYC. I had the Irish stew, a crock of hot beef and vegetables in a tasty gravy. Others in the group enjoyed burgers and salads. Next time I'll try the shepards pie. Server was pleasant and answered our questions.

Walking around New York City on a drizzly Sunday, I walked into Sean's Bar & Kitchen to grab lunch…read more Typical looking New York, Irish pub, TVs, great vibe. Service from the bartender was great. I ordered the fish and chips and a Bloody Mary. Everything was great up till then. Unfortunately, the food was a disappointment. Maybe it was a deep fat fryer thing, but I respectfully suggest the cook be given a little additional training. The fish batter was hard on the outside, and the fish was completely mushy on the inside. Like, gray mush. The fries were lukewarm. The mushy peas and the tartar sauce were served in little covered plastic disposable containers. I'm not a fan of that, but I get it is convenient. I truly wanted to like this place, and except for my one experience with the food, I would certainly return. People were having fun, and I did as well. I believe if they become a little more attentive in the kitchen, this place is a five star pub.
