Feb. 14, 2024, I was at the Xcel Center for the PWHL game and decided to buy a grey t-shirt with "PWHL" printed on the chest for $35. A few days later, I tried the t-shirt on at home and found that one of the shoulder seams was longer than the other one, giving the t-shirt a lop-sided appearance on my body. Wanting to avoid exchanging it for another potentially defective t-shirt (thinking maybe all the size M might have the same defect), I thought to request an exchange for a t-shirt in a future shipment, whenever that might be. I also wanted to avoid having to make multiple trips to the Xcel Center to take care of the issue. The pressing matter was their return policy: Returns are accepted within 30 days of purchase. Based on information on the website for The Hockey Lodge, I sent them an email on Feb. 19 after first calling during their business hours and having the call go to voicemail. Having received no response to my email, I called on Feb. 21 and spoke to "Nick", explaining the issue and mentioning my email from 2 days earlier that was unanswered. Later that afternoon, he replied to my email, asking for the Receipt Number from the purchase and also for pics of what I had described in detail in my email - one shoulder seam measured about 5.5", and the other measured about 5.75" (pretty straightforward information). I responded to that email with the Receipt Number, along with my opinion that sending pics would seemingly not be helpful. His response to that email: "Ok, just bring the shirt in for inspection during our open hours along with your receipt, that way we can figure out a solution." Not helpful. I called again two days later, Feb. 23, and spoke with "Mike" this time. I asked for a Manager to return my call since none were available during the time of my call. He agreed to pass along my message and have a Manager call me that afternoon. I never heard from anyone. Three days later, I called again. This time, I was able to speak to a manager - whose name was "Emily". I described the issue to her. She insisted I send her pics of what I described so that she could best handle the issue. She said she would be back in touch with me at some point. So, I agreed, and sent her pics via the email I initially sent on Feb. 19. Today is March 12, and still no call back from "Emily". Finally, today is March 15, and, as anticipated, ... crickets.

The Hockey Lodge is the place where you can get official Minnesota Wild merchandise, from travel…read moretumblers, to hockey jerseys. This store is located inside Xcel Energy Center. There used to be another store at Southdale Center in Edina. I loved that smaller store, but it closed down during this pandemic. I have been a 4ever Wild member since I became a season ticket holder (a handful of tickets each hockey season) since 2019. When you have your rewards barcode scanned at this store, you get 15% off all merchandise. It comes in handy for more expensive purchases. I managed to get my first Wild jersey specifically crafted for the Winter Classic on New Year's Day 2022. Saving 15% off the original price helped immensely on this one purchase alone. I'm happy that I get it across the board. On the whole, staff are friendly. During my last visit, an older woman, Sue, working at the store called me sir, which was not only incorrect, but odd, insulting, and rude to me. She stopped me because I was carrying a bottled Diet Coke. You can't bring drinks into the store, which I found out from this woman. I wasn't thrilled about leaving my $6 bottle (yep, it's pricy) bottle of pop outside the door, but I eventually did. She was indeed a highly rude individual, apologizing for calling me a guy just to brush me off while rolling her eyes in the process. The most ridiculous question uttered from her: "How can I tell [that I am a woman]?" she asked me. "How about not using a pronoun or noun that specifically identifies gender if you don't know?" I replied. It makes perfect sense to me. It didn't seem to register in her head. I frankly don't think that I am built like a guy, unless being a tall Chinese woman is weird to her and makes me a guy. I also think that she needs her eyes checked and requires sensitivity training. Here was my constructive feedback for her and staff at The Hockey Lodge. Yes, I wrote to this store and copied my Wild representative, who also forwarded it to The Hockey Lodge management and apologized: - Drop the pronouns or be more mindful using them. Incorrectly deeming me a male rubbed me the wrong way. It added a sour note to what was an excellent two years as a Wild season ticket holder. Just ask customers to not bring a beverage into the store. Why use sir or madam, especially when you have a difficult time judging? - Apologize without the eye roll and mean it. The customer wants to feel welcomed at this store and Xcel Energy Center, especially this one who travels from Toronto (yes, Canada) to attend her Wild games. - Be more sensitive as a staff member. She did not put herself in my shoes. I am a Chinese Canadian woman who was labelled a male by a white woman. If you can't identify a person's gender, don't guess. You are likely going to ruin a person's day and perhaps even confidence because of your poor judgment. Other than this one woman staffer who needs help, I enjoy coming to this store. I bought a Wild t-shirt last night. The store doesn't have a change room, so I tried it on over my long-sleeved shirt that I was wearing. It fit. I bought it with a 15% discount. The store only accepts credit and debit cards. If you have money loaded on your mobile account, you can use it here, too. I have used it in the past and getting my barcode scanned is seamless. Four stars is how I rate the quality of the store's merchandise and my complete experience minus the rude woman episode. I have a few items in my small collection. I also have a Kaprizov t-shirt and a Winter Classic patch. I simply get items that I like and use. It also helps that they fit in my luggage or backpack. I deducted a star for the horrible woman that I had the displeasure dealing with. Here's hoping that she gets the help that she needs badly. (137)

Apparently they recognized that they were losing business by removing their manufacturing from the US. Now I'm back, because they have been offering items made in the US albeit, I don't know if they are being made in Minnesota. For myself, I am a bit of a purse snob. I have several vintage Coach and D&B purses from my mother's youth. However, I exclusively purchase French made Longchamps and American made J.W.Hulmes. I get loads of compliments on my Hulme bags. Most are reminiscent of New York City made Coach bags. They are heirloom items. I purchased my first Longchamp 17 years ago and they came with a "key leash." I prevents my keys from sinking to the bottom of my purse and stops me from panicking if I can't locate them immediately. Now J W Hulme's American made purses have a key leash. Hopefully, they are visible in the photo I've posted. Not only are they offering American made leather products, but they are offering clothing and accessories. They usually state in their catalog where the item is made. I started purchasing the majority of my Christmas and birthday gifts again at J.W. Hulme. I like that they're offering other things. It gives me more to chose from when it comes to presents. I am not going into their retail shop, as my first experience was less than pleasant. I'm very pleased to exclusively purchase from the catalog. I bought one small, "imported" purse for my stepdaughter. I didn't want to spend a fortune on the item, because I wasn't sure she'd appreciate purses yet. It was made in China. She loved the purse so much, that it fell apart within a couple of months. Stick with the America, British or even Mexican made products from this retailer and you'll be pleased. I pray that they are employing those fine leather artists here in Minnesota.
