My wife wanted cremation.I never liked the idea to be burned like a pile of garbage at the dump. But this home has a state of the art Aqua cremation system that simply put my mind at rest. It seems just so much more humane than fire. It's done with water and the bones left are pulverized in a machine that gives a sterile powder to you and 20% more of the loved one. Dana helped me through this along with my sister in laws and I can't say enough how gentle and kind these people are. I felt as though I was being helped by a old friend. I went and purchased my Aqua cremation for when I go in the future at a now locked in price. More and more people are doing this than the normal laid out burial. It's cost friendly and and I believe a soothing way for the family. To my knowledge there are only 2 of these systems in Illinois right now and we are so blessed that one is here in Morris.

You would think since this is a funeral home and they are dealing with customers who have lost loved ones, they would be helpful and understanding...but they are not. It has been over a year since my grandfather has died in May 2011 and we have not received a grave marker. The grave marker is supposed to be for both of my grandparents. When my grandpa passed away, we put my grandmother's ashes with him so they could be buried together, the way they wanted. We paid for it in full back in September of 2011, and now it s June of 2012 and we have nothing. When we call to find out when it will be done, they have no answers and are extremely unhelpful. She yelled at my aunt on the phone, so I called to speak to her calmly, Kathy was getting very hot on the phone with me as well. They said there is a company that does the grave markers for them, but they will not provide us with the company's name so we can contact them directly. I would not recommend this funeral home to anyone. We are on the verge of contacting our bank or an attorney about fraud since we ve paid for something we haven t received. The funeral home is clean, bright, updated, and very welcoming. Jim was amazing at going through our options for my Dad and made our selection process easy and very accommodating to the little changes we made here and there. Mike was there the day of the wake and he was amazing and very compassionate. Carey Richardson was really helpful, communicating well via both phone (promptly calling me back) and by email (sending me services, prices, maps of the cemetery with the locations of various options). Then, when we met, she was well prepared and efficient. We finished all the paperwork in under an hour, including looking together at the site. I was thrilled (and could hop in my car and head out).
