My wife wanted cremation.I never liked the idea to be burned like a pile of garbage at the dump. But this home has a state of the art Aqua cremation system that simply put my mind at rest. It seems just so much more humane than fire. It's done with water and the bones left are pulverized in a machine that gives a sterile powder to you and 20% more of the loved one. Dana helped me through this along with my sister in laws and I can't say enough how gentle and kind these people are. I felt as though I was being helped by a old friend. I went and purchased my Aqua cremation for when I go in the future at a now locked in price. More and more people are doing this than the normal laid out burial. It's cost friendly and and I believe a soothing way for the family. To my knowledge there are only 2 of these systems in Illinois right now and we are so blessed that one is here in Morris.

The funeral home is clean, bright, updated, and very welcoming. Jim was amazing at going through our options for my Dad and made our selection process easy and very accommodating to the little changes we made here and there. Everything was organized in a folder for us and he made sure we didn't have any questions and if we did he responded almost immediately and made himself very accessible. Mike was there the day of the wake and he was amazing and very compassionate. Everything went perfectly and we joked about how my dad actually looked better at his showing than his final days with us (but he really did). The funeral and church proceedings went smoothly and like I said, professional, timely, and so very organized. They had the option to play my Apple playlist I made over the stereo system there, we made a slideshow that played during the service that they provide the link to upload and use so easily, and also had many easels for our numerous photo boards. You would think since this is a funeral home and they are dealing with customers who have lost loved ones, they would be helpful and understanding...but they are not. It has been over a year since my grandfather has died in May 2011 and we have not received a grave marker. The grave marker is supposed to be for both of my grandparents. When my grandpa passed away, we put my grandmother's ashes with him so they could be buried together, the way they wanted. We paid for it in full back in September of 2011, and now it s June of 2012 and we have nothing. When we call to find out when it will be done, they have no answers and are extremely unhelpful. She yelled at my aunt on the phone, so I called to speak to her calmly, Kathy was getting very hot on the phone with me as well. They said there is a company that does the grave markers for them, but they will not provide us with the company's name so we can contact them directly. I would not recommend this funeral home to anyone. We are on the verge of contacting our bank or an attorney about fraud since we ve paid for something we haven t received. I had visited the location a couple days before my mom passed and they were very respectful and took down all of our information so that after my mom passed they were able to just come in take her body to the home. They also were able to get all of our official documentation information filled out at that moment as well. We had the basic cremation package which allowed us a 30 minute viewing. The space was clean and allowed us some private time with my mom before she was cremated. Receiving her remains and death certificate was also very efficient. We received both a couple business days after the viewing. Thank you for making a difficult life event pain free and simple. That was very important for us as we grieved.

Even when they arrived to pickup my mom from my home they were caring, careful explained the process, walked the best path for exit and did not rush even though it was pouring rain outside. I was immediately impressed even through my grief. They followed up with me as stated, scheduled a meeting time to discuss plans. They were upfront about pricing, no gimmicks or salesman pitch. All of my questions were answered, no request is too weird because they've heard it all. I actually learned a lot about the cremation process and county requirements. I'm so happy they were recommended to me and I tell everyone about them and my family will definitely utilize their services in the future if/when needed.
