I'm assuming I'll have to do the repairs, because you cannot get through to them at all on the phone and even their chat feature is unmanned. this is for the Guilderland NY location

Our contract identified our destination as the Queensbury/Glens Falls, NY area. We have been paying storage fees since February. Two and a half weeks ago, we provided the address of our new home in Queensbury and requested delivery. We were then informed that PODS had moved our three containers to a facility that does not serve our destination and that we could drive an hour to pick up our belongings ourselves. Since then, we have repeatedly asked PODS for its plan to deliver our containers to the destination specified in our contract. Instead, we have been passed from supervisor to supervisor without a resolution or a delivery plan. We are simply asking PODS to fulfill the delivery it agreed to when we entered into our contract.

Awesome service! Nick and the team installed a hitch on my SUV. When I got home I realized that…read moremy racks didn't fit in the hitch. I called Nick the next day. It was Saturday. Last day of the month. A VERY busy day for UHaul. Nick said "cmon down let's take a look". Turns out there was a manufacturer's defect. They swapped it out on the spot and I was out of there in 30 mins. This is my 4th uhaul hitch. I never had an issue before,but knowing that they'll take care of you if there is one feels great.

There are deep potholes that never get fixed, mice, huge cracks across the outdoor storage locker floors, front gate that was broken for months, allowing anyone to just drive right in, even a skunk that stunk the building up for days. Not to mention that awful talking head box in the office. Cringe. In the end, the last straw was a HUGE, unexpected rate increase that put the price higher than their excellent competitor (begins with an M and ends with abeys). I loaded up and am now enjoying being in a professionally run facility while paying over $100 less than Prime. No skunks, but I can live with that.

When Prime acquired…read moreGuardian Self-Storage (a nice, family-owned facility) in the Hudson Valley, they not only raised their rates, they reduced the quality of services. Now, "temperature controlled" means they heat only up to 55 degrees and "cool" down to 80 degrees. Guardian kept the temperatures at around 68, which is what a customer deserves. I also heard that the head honcho at Prime told his employees to charge customer some fees without notifying said customers first. When an employee refused to do that, insisting on making a courtesy call, that employee was fired for insubordination. Prime seems to hold its customers in contempt, squeezing every penny out of us and offering no true security or good service in return. It's disgusting to think that a company is run by a man with no decent goodness. I usually don't post reviews but I feel it's important to protect those who might be hoping to store their belongings in a truly temperature-controlled unit.
