Service was efficient but still very careful to protect our belongings and the safety pf the 5 man crew. Everyone was very professional and our move went off without a hitch. Lamana's knows what they are doing. We packed our personal items, so the crew only had to move the furniture & boxes. They just needed us to direct them as to placement in our new house. In all, the entire process took about 5 hours. We should note my husband is immune compromised and all staff took precautions when it came to pandemic precautions. We are grateful for their professionalism and concern, in this regard. There was a GREAT article about Lamana's in the Albany Times Union on 9/2/20, this is a multigenerational family run business and they deserve the high praise and recognition. I've already passed them on to another friend who will be moving in the near future and to our realtor. I do recommend calling & booking as soon as you have a closing date. The human/Customer Service end of things is a little less together. Communication can be difficult, with never more than one person staffing the office at a time and what seems to be a disinclination to return phone calls...and they can be kind of sloppy and clueless; I went in to get a second storage space to augment the first one, and the girl who set me up with it created a whole new account in their system instead of adding the new space to my existing account, so I now have two accounts and a different gate access code for each space (not that the latter matters in a practical sense - I can use the same gate code to get in regardless of which space I'm going to). I had to have someone consolidate the two accounts so that I could access and pay for both spaces through their website without having to log in twice, and with different information each time...and to top it all off, that same girl put my name in the system backwards, with my first name in the last name space and vice-versa, so now the automated telephone system looks for my account and says, "I found an account with the last name I A N..." Just sloppy. But if you can overlook such silliness (and probably minimize your need to interact with the staff), just taken as a storage space, I think it's pretty great. I do wish it was less expensive though. That would allow me to pay my bill on time a lot more often than I currently do.

Initially I stopped in for prices. The general manager Doreen was awesome, polite and very helpful. She gave me a tour, showed me a few unites, and helped me decide what was best fit for me. I like that there is somebody on site and that the facility is monitored 24 hours. The property was clean, there's a dumpster that they dont charge you extra for, and even a moving truck to use for free if you need it. Also their insurance is affordable. I loved that my first month rent was free, I paid for my insurance and a pad lock, signed some forms and had access. This is where you can trust your stuff will be safe, and have awesome staff to work with.
