We rented a 10 x20 unit storage here for 8 years. It was always clean and available. The manager, Hamon, showed up on check out and provided some clean up tools, including a cordless blower to complete the exit. They were extremely polite, nice, and helpful. I'll go back here if I need a unit in the future. read more

The location of Storage Star Woodland is great as it is a short and easy drive from Davis. I rented a unit for a few months while working on a home renovation. I am not sure how prices go in the storage industry but when it comes to who I can trust and who makes me feel comfortable doing business with that are friendly and kind but they get to the point. People were nice but they charged me for the wrong unit and it was a whole mess. Tried to sort it out over the phone but both parties were left confused. I had to cancel my credit card due to fraud and forgot that I had put the unit on my credit card, and this was all happening at the same time as the getting charged for the wrong unit debacle which made it even more confusing. At the end of it they ended up charging me late fees and refused to take them off even after explaining the situation. Was a pretty big turn off. Then I got to the storage unit and opened it and there were bugs all over and in my stuff-- and I wrapped it all up very tightly and secure in plastic with tape. I don't know if they use pest control (seems like maybe not) but if they do they need to hire a new company. The units are also NOT climate controlled so you should invest in damprid or something similar because I ended up with some pretty heavy bags of water. Would have used a u-haul unit if I had known they had them sooner. Kind of disappointed with this place honestly even though the people were nice. read more

I've never had to use storage space before so I was very hesitant & nervous to do so because I have this preconceived notion that storage spaces are inherently dingy/unsafe/expensive but this place is none of those things. Sign up was super easy on store (however it did take a very long time, set aside 30ish minutes to sign all the paperwork), they provide any boxes/bubble wrap & locks for your unit that you may need. Though the supplies itself is quite overpriced (I suggest going to home Depot to gather up on any moving supplies), the storage space itself is fantastic. We got the smallest unit, a 10x12 or something I think. And it was big enough to fit furniture for a 1 bedroom apartment (there was room to spare). For about 120 bucks a month I'd say it's a pretty good deal! Area seems safe & secure. Would definitely recommend. read more

I've used different self storage facilities all of my life including the last 4 years when my son went to UC Davis but I've never experienced a level of service that Christie gave us. She is amazing. She wasn't focus on upgrades but focused on the needs of her customers. Great phone skills, great customer service in person. Needed a place for some extra storage for the moment. Was greeted by a nice young lady why answered all my questions and showed me a storage locker to give me an idea of what size I would need. It was easy to sign up for a locker. Went back next day and their lock was still on. Unfortunately the office was closed. But the owners saw there was an issue and asked if we needed help. They're were kind enough to help out by taking the lock off even though the office was closed. Saved the day. Great service. read more

The customer service at Storage Star, Woodland is exceptional. I rented a unit here nearly two years ago. From the first phone call to inquire about availability, Harmon was friendly, professional and efficient. During the last two years I have had to rent a second unit then consolidate back down to one unit again. At one point I thought I would need to store an RV on site as well. Harmon was always helpful and accommodating. While there wasn't availability for RV storage at the time I requested it, Harmon contacted me immediately after having a space free-up some 3 months down the road! Pretty painless process even with all of the Covid precautions. The intro deal was getting the first month for $1 and when signing up for auto billing the $15 admin fee was waived along with a free lock. The staff is nice. The facility is clean and just a few months old. read more

Daughter finished college and moved back home. The entire time, she always felt very safe going to her storage facility, every time she came to town needing items. They provided a large storage unit originally and upon our request, were able to provide us with a smaller one for us. The best thing about this place is it's family operated and the Gentleman and his wife are the nicest people ever. If you are looking for an affordable unit, that doesn't increase rates often, this is definitely the place. If I need to store anything again in the future, I'll definitely return. read more

I had disappointing service from A-1 Secure Storage. First, I made a reservation for a storage unit online and when I followed up with a phone call, I was told that they didn't actually have that particular unit available and that I would be placed on a waiting list instead. Okay, this was disappointing but I decided to stick with them because they had the size I needed. I called back again a week later to confirm if I was still on the waiting list and to confirm that a unit the size I needed would be available soon. I was told that a unit would be available during the time frame I needed it and that I would be contacted when if and when it was my turn on the list. I finally received a phone call today saying that the unit was available and to call them back as soon as possible. The phone call went to voicemail as I was driving in the car. I called the storage unit company back immediately when I got home (a half hour later) and they said they gave the storage unit away already! They didn't mention in the voicemail that they would be moving on or that the offer expired inside of thirty minutes! Very disappointing and unprofessional service. read more

This property has tight road ways between the units. The units themselves are average compared to other storage units. The property seems secure with on site manager and code entery gate. Staff is friendly. The rates are average. All and all, a good place to store your stuff. read more

I've moved three times in as many years and was just dreading heading to yet another storage place for a truck. Instead, I ended up having a shockingly pleasant and efficient experience renting a 10-foot truck to drive down to Southern California. The guy who works here is incredibly nice, accommodating and helpful. He was extra careful to note every mark on the truck so I wouldn't get charged when I returned it and even gave me tips on how to not get charged for another day when returning the truck in Orange County on a Sunday. If I was staying in the area, I'd store things here in a flash because of the conscientious employee who helped me out today. read more

Best place to storage in the area. The manager, Manny, is the kindest of persons and extremely helpful and efficient at his job. Wether you have a question over the phone, or need his assistance in person at the location, he will provide you with all the help needed. Paperwork signing is fast and the place is open 7 days a week until late (9 pm). You can have the certainty of being well attended; even if they are busy or over the phone at the moment, they will return your call in a matter of minutes.
